Wiilafjord - Traditional Shetland Reel
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 жов 2014
- This is a very popular, traditional Shetland reel. I learnt this whilst learning another 99 reels for a sponsored reel-a-thon back in 2009. It features on many albums including Tom Anderson's: Haand me doon da fiddle.
What a terrific musician, I have been a longtime loyal fan of this girl's accordion playing! :-)
Very Scandinavian name for a Scottish tune! Shetland really is our wee bit of Norway. Very catchy, foot tapping music as well.
I haven't forgotten you. It was and all the time is a pleasure to hear you. I remember you, when you were a school girl in Lerwick, For example - Miss Suzanne Barbour. I love this the best. Congratulations to you Lana.
A nice and happy song from a cute lady always makes my day, 99 reels sounds like a lot and can't wait to hear them all :D
So happy ur back and making videos again, huge inspiration! Made me want to dust of my own accordion and start playing again
0:01 She SMILED!!
+Chemistry, Films, and More
I think the smile is because fantinigirl92 was lining up the syncopation and imagining "some een gaen wi wan fit ida stank an de idder een on a broo an gaein a lunk as dey go alang"
Cheered me up no end on a day of rain!
Excellent !!! Your are a fantastic accordionist !!! Greetings,--- Mario
So nice.... i watch your channel since 2008..... is always a pleasure. That you.
Pieknie grasz na tym akordeonie. Slucham juz od dluzszego czasu Twojego grania i zawsze podziwiam Twoj kunszt. Pozdrawiam z Polski. TF
Great clarity and balance, super!
Hai tutta la mia stima... Davvero brava. Non abbandonare mai questo strumento
Saluti Dall' Italia!
I saw you getting older through your videos. Amazing!
I like to see you playing too.
Some great accordion playing!!!!! I am looking forward to hearing more of your playing in the future. I would love to get my hands on the music of all those 100+ reels. I am also anxious to see some tutorials as well. I am working on building proficiency in bass techniques. You play the treble side beautifully and I love your embellishments and your bass technique is spot-on!!!! Thank you for sharing your gift of music with us!!!!!!!!! ;-D
Click the settings button on the video and you can slow any you tube video down to 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 speed. How that helps
Excellent!!!
Brilliant!
Magnificent
I enjoy what you play.
Che brava! Complimenti! :)
Greetings from Torino, IT, EU :)
worth the wait univerity time

Super zahrané na krásný akordeon :-)
sehr schön gespielt.das gefällt mir sehr gut,echt super,ganz toll.gruss:mario
Sei bravissima!!!!
I like the inflection at 0:45 where for a couple of bars the bass notes accent just the down beat. I'm not sure if this is entirely intentional as a signal the piece is coming to an end or something, or to add variation but I have heard this in other Shetland tunes. Do you have details of the other 99 reels.
Brilliant box player.
Williafjord is misspelt in the title (as Wiilafjord) so this video does not come up in searches...
Brava.👍👍
hi Lorna i have decided to open a channel to encourage would be accordionists i think it is good to show the first tune that they were able to play with where people are today i intend to post basic lessons and post links to people that have achieved fantastic playing skills with the hope that they post a few hints and tips on playing the accordion i think it is a fantastic instrument but people often give up because they don't have enough praise and guidance there are many ways to learn a musical instrument and all of these options should be encouraged
Stunning. Er, the music, that is. Okay, I meant you. :s
Who knows, maybe it's both!
Complimenti bravissima
Fantinigirl you are Supergirl !!!
You have dancing Fingers. I am happy to see you.
She erased me from her facebook friends, but I still love the way she plays. :)
Hi,
Sorry I took you off my page. My account was hacked and someone started to impersonate me! So, I've taken everyone off my personal Facebook page that I haven't met face to face. You are more than welcome to keep up to date with my professional Facebook page instead: Lana Elaine Music. =]
Thanks,
Lana Elaine
Why did u stop posting videos?
Remanded me of Islander and SpongeBob. 😍
So that's where Sharon Shannon got her tune from
Are you Irish?
filipino983 I'm Scottish. From the Shetland Isles. =)
excellent playing tried to play along with whistle but too slow
Brawo polska, śliczna dziewczyna :)
If you could make tutorials or show it more in slow motion, then a lot of people would watch and even learn how to play.
It is a lot easier to learn from video, than from sheets, if you don't have a teacher.
I was told this tune is even of Greenland origine.Anyhow......the roots of this music are in the North and around the North Sea.
Habt ihr auch Eisautomaten in Schottland?! NOOB
WOW, A WOMAN WHO'S SKILLED AT SOMETHING BESIDES COOKING AND CLEANING. YOU DON'T SEE THAT SHIT EVERYDAY!
