It's a mashup of the Bonanza tv show theme, She'll Be Coming Around The Mountain, Oh Susanah, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Turkey In The Straw, Camptown Ladies, Can Can, La Marseillaise, and possibly one or two other songs. You are obviously very talented to learn this by ear, and it was nicely performed.
I remember buying an accordion when I was 13 and then coming on UA-cam for inspiration and watching this video. the nostalgia is pretty fierce right now
blind people dont blink and she clearly blinked, but it could also be that she is concentrating hard on not hitting any wrong keys. One of the best accordion players heard on youtube in a long time, not heard any wrong notes from this "lady" yet. Some people try to be too cocky when playing by playing it too fast and are bound to make mistakes. very well done young lady :D
2.23-2.38 is theme from american tv series "Dallas", the one with Bobby, Pamela, JR Ewing... , and 3.54 to end is: "La Marseillese", the french anthem(since the mix was made up and played first time at a french-american meeting, as someone stated somewhere below). I have resumed accordion playing last August. I have not played in 41 years. Believe me It's Great to be Back. I am amazed at the versatility of the accordion. I have heard it emulate harps, cellos and bass. I think it beats a piano and a pipe organ! I now play Top 40 and contemporary Christian.
Still looking at your videos after all these years. Keeps me inspired to learn. Just picked up a Wurlitzer on eBay yesterday. Wish me luck. As far as improving your playing , I'm not sure it could get any more beautiful. Tom in AZ.

For several years I have been listening to this beautiful performance by Lana Thompson, a very young accordionist from Lerwik. A wonderful girl, she played so beautifully even then.
That was a great medley of tunes! You have a good strong right hand, your notes and arpeggios are nice and clean. I've been playing accordion for about 55 years. My baby blue Crucianelli 120 bass sounds pretty much the same as your Fantini. Great playing, I enjoyed it! Cheers!

Wow. You stand there like Lady Liberty, fingers working nimbly yet effortlessly. While you school us in how the tune goes. I'm think I'm in love. Since you ask for feedback, if turkey in the straw was a touch slower the listener would get the punch lines the build the joke in the song. That the rooster can really crow at the line just before you launch I'm the the refrain. I need to go back and listen some more. You are so fantastic.

A lot of people are saying that she should be showing more emotion on her face or smiling. Sure, smiling is nice, but I look pretty stoic when I play instruments as well. It comes with concentration (for me). Faking emotion or making faces for the sake of looking more "into it" is pointless. She's got a peaceful look on her face and doesn't try to go over the top; I can appreciate it.

i know nothing of the accordion but got a gypsy compliation that has a few with it that i really like. Never heard the jigs or waltzes, or whatever the correct term, but hearing this is very badass. Shred.
You know, maybe there's a reason why she doesn't look at the camera or smile. Did any of you notice that the piece she's playing is pretty intricate? That means she has to focus, especially because it's all memorized. Plus, maybe she's got a little stage fright and it makes her feel better to not look at the camera. I know when I'm playing piano looking up above my sheet music or even to the side makes me feel a lot better because I'm just letting it flow without focusing on what I'm playing.
Don't worry I won't say I am in love (what sort of comment is that BTW?). I like your accordion videos, you play superbly! For a few days I have been picking up the idea to learn to play it (my father used to play it) but when I see this proess I feel sorry I didn't begin at a much earlier age. You are good so you won't need luck with your future in music, keep on the good work Lana!
