Nice machine for those who live near the desert but useless anywhere on the east coast or trailing anywhere in general...insane price...just way to much $$$$ for a toy imo.
29" travel eh ? No that's what Polaris calls usable wheel travel which makes No sense to anybody except the manufacturer and their need for " biggest" numbers. In actuality a group of guys that do this type and only this type of summer sports reports it's 24.5" travel.
Southern California is where most of these things sell. Custom long travel cars are really popular here too. 100k isn't enough for one. Maybe used. Maybe 😂
Great video but you may want to check on the limits on width. Unfortunately a class II UTV can only be 65 inches wide out side wheel to wheel. Class III is for motorcycles and class iv can only have rim up to 14 inches. So I'm not sure wha class it would be. Being wide is nice but you not going riding many trails legally.
Can-am and Polaris calculate the travel numbers differently. Polaris uses tire squish in their numbers. At this point we need an industry standard or a 3rd party to decide real travel numbers.
No Polaris does not use tire squish. They lift the car till the tires are adjust about to come off the ground. The car will move 29 inches with 1 inch left before bottoming out on the ground. With previous Can-Am models if you did the same thing, the car would hit the ground and still have 2 inches of travel left. That is why you see Can-Am bottom out on the ground all the time, and Polaris says usable travel when they measure. because not all of the travel on Can-Am’s is usable.
@@jerrywilcox9890 it is not the Can-Am arms. It is the bottom of the car that bottoms out. Have you never seen how can am bottoms out when they jump. If you are on a Can-Am, your car bottoms out whether you know it or not apparently you’re not jumping it hard enough. because when it hits the ground, there is still 2 inches of travel left.

Yeah, I sat in one yesterday....so much want. But I'm finding the same thing, kinda too wide for normal toy haulers, and the car haulers at U-Haul are too heavy for my RAV4 to pull with the added weight of this new model. Aluma trailers have one that's light and would work, but they don't list prices so I'll have to call.
funny the media crows about it. but only at the BRP reveals. After that not so much is said about it. They'd sell a lot more of these things if it was an improved X3 with that transmission and a stronger frame. they'd outsell that toad 5-1. this thing isnt suited for BRP's largest market
At the bottom of model line up - $35k for the Can AM with a real tranny is a good deal - but you don't get any of the new tech features at that level, where at $37k for Pro R you get all the features of the top model, except the Smart Shocks. Can Am top model is $43.9k with smart shocks and all the features and tech - Pro R is $40.9k for the same - so you are paying a premium for Can Am to get the new tranny and new front suspension design. Question becomes will Polaris respond with a transmission and a turbo for the Pro R - calling it the Pro "RS Turbo".
Polaris is using their own nonsense "usable travel" adding about 7" because at full compression they still have 7" of ground clearance. The Maverick has more actual travel. 25" front and back compared to Pro R's 22".
