      I think 120 FPS or even 240 FPS in 1080p is better, than 60 FPS in 4k, but consoles are more for casual players, than cybersport or action games.

    One big advantage a mid or even low end gaming PC has is that it runs Windows, and can be used for all sorts of things a console can't.

    • @daukwin
      @daukwin 4 місяці тому +102

      And it's still cheaper in the long run since you don't need a subscription and the games are way cheaper. Even a mid tier pc will at least break even with a console in seven years (with subscription). It has a different distribution of cost and the upfront price should be seen more as an investment for something that will provide you with greater returns in the long run. And yeah with the versatility of being an open platform instead of a closed system it's a no brainer.

      @@daukwin Console games are cheaper too lmao.. you can find used physical games at throw away prices and digital games go on sale literally every week on ps and xbox stores, not everybody pays and plays online and you can literally jailbreak consoles and pirate games there for free like pc.. as for OP's point on running windows and whatever nobody buys a console to do pc stuff on it, they buy consoles to play games because thats what they're literally made for, so that's a completely irrelevant and nonsensical argument.

    • @daukwin

      @@EX0007 I don't think consoles have Fanatical and Humble bundle, which provide insanely good deals. Nor do I think they have Epic games and GOG giving away free games all the time that you keep forever regardless of a subscription. I think if you only play modern AAA singleplayer games, or the biggest multiplayer games like the battle royale ones AND you already have a decent pc for internet browsing/work or whatever then I can see consoles being good value. My argument was that even for gaming only pc is probably the better value, especially if you play more than like 5 games a year and/or like indie stuff. The ability to do everything else on it is just a really nice bonus. Idk about you but most people I know just use their phones for everything and would stand to benefit from a pc.
      I agree with OP but it seems a lot of people have the notion that the higher cost premium of pc is just for the benefit of being a pc that can do more stuff than just gaming. And I just wanted to point out that even for gaming only it's not as expensive as it seems! For sure though consoles have their place for certain people but most gravitate toward them for convenience and they pay a price for that.

      You need to upgrade a PC every couple of years easily to run the top games. Even if you start with a $700 PC, you will need to spend another $300+ on a new graphics card in 2-5 years time, then another $100-200 on a PSU, then another $150-300+ on a new CPU to make sure not to bottleneck your new GPU.
      Of course, this can be solved by spending more on your PC in the first place, but that defeats the purpose. Also, Xbox live gold + game pass is $60 for the year, and the Series S is like $330 rn. PCs are far superior to consoles in most aspects, but they are undeniably extremely expensive and time consuming.

      A gtx 1650 super is around the level of performance adequate for a i7 6700. I would have said the rx 6600xt but the cpu bottle necks it at 1080p gaming.
      With a cpu+ motherboard combo as old as 6th gen intel, it’s more worth it in the long run to just upgrade the entire system rather than buying an outdated graphics card for an outdated system.

    When I had my first thought of getting a computer, I had an option, build a pc or get it pre built knowing I was on a “budget” and I heard that building my own was a better option and “cheap”, ever since then I literally did non stop research, every night I watched UA-camrs build a pc to keep me motivated, when I ordered the first 2 parts that came in, I knew that was the moment to keep it up, and now, I’ve been my first ever pc around 800$ it took around 3-4 hours for me and I absolutely love it.

    It lets the builder see the different parts and versions of parts currently available with recent price tags.
    it’ll tell you what is compatible with what and can give a good rough estimate on how much of a punch your wallets gonna take before even starting.

    Humble opinion as a pc builder: if you don’t value modding and you only care about gaming, Pc under $400 might be a mistake, Ps5 probably lasts 5-10 years, includes controller and you can get it with $399 new. Compare to pc which is $400 with a decent mouse and keyboard will never ever last 10 years “ your parts probably will be 20 years old “ or can run a game at 4k with 60 fps. Specially if you like to buy parts new!

    • @Rullino32
      @Rullino32 4 місяці тому

      True, especially in the EU with the exception of Germany, I've seen many PS5 boxes combined with €100 gift cards attached to them, which is better than a PC since for the same price, which is €500, would either get you an entry-level PC for basic tasks or an old PC with a good CPU and a used graphics card, both of them require luck, I've tried building a PC from Pcpartpicker and I could make a PC with a R 5 3600 and Arc A580 under €500 in Italy, so it's possible to some extent, but it won't run the latest games at 4k, the experience would be much worse than consoles.

    • @accountteam9859
      @accountteam9859 2 місяці тому

      A PC will last the same as a console, unless they cheat like they did on RDRII, where the console versions use lower than low settings in order to have a decent performance. And consoles run nowhere near 4K & 60 FP/s on 94% of the titles, in fact, they've been having trouble to have decent performance at 1080p on the latest releases.

    • @accountteam9859
      @accountteam9859 2 місяці тому

      @@Rullino32Consoles don't run at 4K, they barely hit 1440p... 4K was already difficult to reach on old titles from PS4 since they had to sacrifice graphic settings & use upscaling or DRS, even GTAV, a game from PS3 does not run at 4K since it's using DRS on Fidelity Mode.
