In nursing school, we learned that overstimulation leads to anxiety. Also, with all the time you spent in “isolation” working from home, you probably adjusted to the low stimuli and communicating virtually. Your old normal seems to be overwhelming now! I can’t wait to see the research of how the pandemic has affected us 20 somethings!
I want to encourage you to please take things that people say with a grain of salt. I think what you have chosen to do during your gaps years will make you such an amazing physician. I am a pre-med student in my gap year as well and watching you live in your soft girl era during your gap years has been so refreshing. Individuals that are not on this journey may find it hard to understand why living a soft life is so special during this time. Some don’t realize that It helps bring some balance to a very challenging and stressful journey. Once you get to medical school you may not have these same opportunities to live a soft life until after residency. I pray you continue to embrace it!💗
When I am not working, I try to prioritize softness and silliness. I realized being serious too long doesn’t work for me. The seriousness helps with productivity, while the softness helps with socializing and networking. I’ve learned to combine them and I am tinkering with it some more to make the balance better.
Eloquently stated. So much love and admiration for you. Work hard but also rest. We’re human and need and deserve both. Add rest to the routine. Off days. I adore you 🫶🏽
So timely Brelynn , especially as we start the second quarter of this year . It’d be great to hear progress on the changes/disciplines you plan to incorporate if you wish to share .
The real world adulting life is real. #Thehealthcaresystemisa24-7life. I know first hand sickness has no schedule is what I learn and I had to wrap my life around the health care system.
