Mariah’s reactions vs Beau’s are one of my favorite things about her. She’s such a great actress that in early game I straight up HATED Beau but now I really see a clear line between the character and actress, and appreciate both a lot more for it.
Especially if Trent became a lich. The way Matt described him when Yasha and beau briefly encountered him in zadash and the dodecahedron's strange power that seems to be related to reincarnation from what the drow in the sewers said makes me think there are some undead high ranking imperials
Caleb is basically a man who went through Nazi officer training and didn't make it because he was deeply distraught and emotionally destroyed by the acts that they had him commit. I FUCKING LOVE HIS BACKSTORY, ITS SO GOD DAMN AMAZING.
Marisha's look once Caleb says he killed his mother and father... That wasn't acting. That was both Marisha and Beau going "I did NOT fucking agree to be hit with emotional shit of this magnitude, holy FUCK"
Caleb is such a well thought out character and this here proves it, it's so good in fact I've borrowed Liam's suttle hints the campaign for my dragonborn character
Nott basically had Kill Bill sirens in her head, and wondering how many crossbow bolts it takes to kill a archmage. And I basically asked Sam if that was Notts mindset.
I really hope caleb fights trent at level 20, and when the fight us about to end, caleb tells everyone to leave him resteaimed on the ground. Then as they all walk away, thinking caleb has let go of revenge, level 9 fireball to incinerate him
Not likely. Doesn’t feel like what Caleb would do. Most I could see would be another character killing Trent after Caleb stands up to him and reasserts himself or Caleb personally leading to his arrest. Caleb straight up fireballing Trent to death feels like a huge leap backwards.
i'm not sure anybody was prepared to get this deep, absolutely fantastic roleplay and acting on liam's part (as well as everyone else but especially him in this moment)
I know this episode happened a while ago, so I have to wonder if the rest of the cast know caleb's backstory yet, or if it's still only Sam and Marisha? I'm not caught up with this campaign yet, so i don't know if he's revealed it to the rest of them as of this comment, but it'd be kinda cool if it was still just the three of them that knew. If i remember correctly, with Percy and the Briarwoods it seemed like none of the rest of the cast knew before he told them. That scene amazes me to no end because they'd all been playing that campaign for 2 or 3 whole years before the stream even started, yet Taliesin was so attuned to his own character that the /moment/ the name came up, he reacted. It makes me wonder how long we're going to have to wait for Caleb's story arc, and for him to reveal his past to the rest of the M9.
I feel the *cast* probably knows at this point, but definitely no other characters. Caduceus would probably figure it out pretty quickly if Caleb and Trent were ever in the same room. I think they're probably going story-to-story right now. With Fjord's story adequately explored, barring a meeting with Vandren and/or Sabien, it's likely we'll be on our way to someone else's past shortly, unless they decide to awaken Uk'otoa. Caleb probably wants to wait until such time as he can directly challenge Ikithon himself before going that route, so I'd imagine we're perhaps going to do a regular quest, unless circumstances arise or Jester pressures the group to go see The Gentleman. Although if Ashley is able to rejoin as a regular, I'd love to give her story some more attention!
After the episode Liam O'Brien decided that sending the rest of the cast away was a bad idea and encouraged everyone to go back and view it. My memory's a bit foggy, but the gist of what he said via twitter was that he wanted everyone to have fun rather than do things that made sense mechanically story-wise, as the other cast were gone for a long while and got bored.
So strangers were brought in, … traitors . Disgusting people, traitors to this Empire. … And we killed them. Caleb. Who put those words into your mouth? Who are you trying to convince? And then the fast And we killed them.
I've only just gotten into campaign 2, was literally listening to this ep while I was working this morning and froze lol, completely caught me off guard
I know its not gonna happen, but I wanna see a world where caleb gets so consumed by his vengeance that he becomes willing to destroy anything in his way, might nein be damned. It'd be such an interesting, tragic, and heartbreaking thing to witness. And as good at rp as liam is I know he would've expertly played Calebs descent into madness.
@@AnxietyRat I think he also mentioned on a talks episode that if they had met with Astrid, Eudwulf, and Trent sooner he was potentially considering giving Matt the character sheet so he could leave the party and go bad which would have been interesting, tho I prefer what we got I think.

Other than Liam's fantastic acting, the way Sam is responding and his facial reactions is so empathetic and suiting for Nott and Caleb's relationship.
that pained 'oooh' sam does at 1:35 as if Nott has been punched in the gut is fucking fantastic
Well, they are best friends.
after that Sam spends almost a whole minute just breathing in and out, not really sure what to think or do next
Marisha interrupting was pretty annoying
@@lliamthrumble Not really to me, it felt natural and fitting to me.

Yikes

Marisha turning to Matt, that look she gave him. "Wait what? This is where its going..."

The face Marisha does when at the "I am going to tell you..."

What a well written, well formed character, honestly.

I love Caleb so much. He's serving as the inspiration for my Wizard character I'm trying out tonight.
Hope it went well mate
How did it go?
How’s the wizard?
It looks like your character was so powerful he imploded, never to be seen again.
