Very inspiring video, really like that you show your songwriter/producer side too, not only the mixer hat 👍😀

Thank you for this! I've been trying to get that compressed saturated bass sound for so long!

I've got to think you've got a lot of templates that you apply to everything first though, right? Otherwise I couldn't imagine working this fast and it sounding this good. Do you have like standard EQ settings for drums, bass, vocals and such that you always apply before you get creative with your mixing?

Good question! I don’t actually use templates. I tried them when I was younger, but since every sound source is unique, I found that templates slowed me down rather than speeding me up.
That said...I do use mental frameworks or routines instead, depending on the material I’m working with. It's about how fast can scan a sound, form a vision, and connect that to a certain tool and action. Over time, I guess we naturally become faster and more efficient at what we do as we gain experience.

@@thomas_juth Hm, but I guess this goes back to generally working with your ears and not your eyes.

I mix my beat very quickly and I start with my producer template whicj makes it easier to work

Yes I think having a template can really help, especially when one mostly works with one's own productions. For me, as a mix engineer mainly, I have found that it is easier to have mental templates...as I work with different clients all the time.
