Fantastic. Another great exercise/warm up to help me get back on track as a vocalist. Keep 'em coming. Your effort makes a difference out here in the real world.
You: Hello Baritones
Me: Hiiii Jeff ':)
Hello!!!!
Jeff
Glad I'm not the only one that does this!
@@StaticYonder I still come back to these videos just to warm up x)! It's been actual years now!
Look at you being all about them low notes.
LOVE. IT.
It's such a neglected territory for warmups.
Thank you!!
Seriously right!!! No love down there! Gotta make it happen.
Thanks for watching!
Jeff
Jeff Rolka great video Jeff! I really would like to reach the lower notes. But being a tenor, I was not really succesfull in the lower range. I have been asked to do the Zurga part in the famous Pearl Fishers duet. But there again, I have problems with the lowest notes. What would be your advise? Singing an octave higher (quite easy) or forgetting the project? Thanks, I am afraid I will go back to your videos for tenors!
Where’s the lava lamp?!
Bulb burned out! I got a new one, but I don't think the wattage is the same because it took like, four hours to start bubbling. Having now moved it out of frame, I may wander for awhile with some stuff back there. The tea-pot was a nod to my time in the UK. Made by Falconware Enamel. Total old school UK enamelware.
It'll be back though. I love those things!
Jeff
Maestro, You are the best singing teacher in the whole world!
I keep coming back to this video. Maybe my favorite baritone video of yours yet. Great vocal workout 🏋️♂️ 🎤.
We stan Jeff in this house.
Love the low Cs in this lesson, thanks Jeff!
Jeff Rolka you are fantastic! Thanks for your warm ups!!
hey jeff! as a bass baritone i often feel myself getting discouraged during online vocal warmups but since finding your channel, it's really inspired me to start singing again. i cannot thank you enough for all the content you offer (especially for free). i hope youre staying safe during these difficult times.
Thank you! Thank you for watching and singing along! I'm really happy that the videos are helping you get back into singing! Keep it up!
Jeff
Best TEACHER in the GAME TODAY
Thank you Jeff! My favorite warmup so far! Keep up the great sessions. My voice has improved tremendously in range, quality, and power since I found your channel last year. Btw, I especially love the minor chord requiemesque exercise.
is this is the minor key warmup or warmup with chords?
Thanks Jeff!

Fantastic! Great work! Keep going!
Best,

Thank you again!
The last one is the sweetest, thanks you so much.
He is,he’s the only vocal coach I’ve been using for the last year or so.
Thank you for that! Thank you for watching and thanks for writing in! If there's something you'd like to see on the channel, let me know via a message here or via Twitter @jtrolka.
Thank you!
Jeff
Thank you for the videos Jeff ! You’ve motivated me to try to learn to sing (little by little haha)
Thanks, Jeff!!! Your lessons, after ten months, made me really enjoy my tone! Made me, a bass baritone reach some tenors notes and I really appreciate. With your classes I've learned to grown my singing in general, and to stop obsess with range... You are a really, really great teacher!
Thank you. Thank you very much for your kind words!
Jeff
Thank you, Jeff! I've several questions:
1. Could you mention the basis to do during vocal warm up? (like not to scream; make yawn-like feeling, etc.)
2. Can I use this only video to warm up instead of your others (like 'singing over the break')?
You're best vocal teacher!
Hello and thank you!
1. Yes, I can try to mention things like that, but I do try to keep my talking to minimum.
2. This is a reasonably comprehensive warm up, so yes, but, it is best to consider the requirements of your repertoire when choosing a warm up!
Thank you for watching!!!
Jeff
Absolutely loved the last one, if you have more like these, do share! Thanks for your videos, I feel like I am actually making some progress - finally... All the best from Finland o/
I appreciate the extra low range, thanks!
Appreciate you making these tailored to the ranges. Thank you!
This warm up is amazing!! Thank you Jeff!!
Thank you friend! Enjoy the videos and keep singing! I am pleased to be a part of your daily vocal routine!
Jeff
last excersise was fun!
Great resource as always! Thank you Jeff!
Thanks for the vocal warm up
I love your warm ups!!
thanks
Love this, thank you
Thanks Jeff!!
Thank you!!!
Bloody brilliant video. i've needed an online-vocal coach like this for years! Subbed!
Do you have any full videos like the section at the end? I absolutely loved using my warmed voice to push my range and improvise melodies over your piano. Cheers
Thank you so much for your kind words! Glad you're finding the videos useful! There's quite a few videos where I do chordal stuff here are a few:

@@JeffRolka Brilliant, cheers. Will check them out. Best wishes
Thanks Jeff! I've been following your channel for about a year. My voice used to be all over the place but I now have good control and no tension over the range in this video. What do you recommend should be the next step?
nice and thorough ¡¡ i have more issues ascending in scales and riffs then descending..!!??-dani bandolier
what are the low and high notes used here?
Hi Sir, Love your lessons. I believe my voice is somewhere between Baritone and Tenor. Would it be apt to do warm up for both baritone and tenor? Or do I need to confirm first the exact type of my voice and then do the warm ups accordingly?
Totally fine and normal. Yes, do them both, see how your voice develops and feels over time. Notice the areas that you really love to sing in, and your voice tends to favor. You can then decide to continue those practices more, or even working on the other areas more should you desire that range.
Thank you for watching!
Jeff
Thanks a lot Sir 🙏

Hi Jeff! First of all thank you so so much for this, i really enjoyed the bass and lower scales on this video. You have the most comprehensive, high quality and complete channel on youtube for singers.
I have a question, i realize that i can sing all this exercises using my larynx resonator or without using it (i hope i am describing it well). If i use my larynx resonator the sound is louder and a little more "metallic", and if i do not use it the sound is more "rounded and clear" (i dont know if this descriptions will make sense to you). I am a little confuse about how should i "feel" during this exercises and (may be it is related to it, may be it is not) i am confuse about "voice piano in testa", "mix voice" and "belting". Are they related somehow? any of those uses the larynx resonator?
Excuse me for my long and messy question, thank you again for your help and work.
A hug from Argentina
Hello Maximiliano! Thank you so much for this. I don't talk nearly enough about this. I am going to cover it in Questions from Comments 8.
In short though - there is no consensus in the vocal community about terminology. I use a lot of terms like voce piena in testa in the hopes of being extremely specific, but if you're not familiar with those terms, and haven't heard them demonstrated, it's likely that it's just as meaningless as anything else. They are related, the terms, but unfortunately, they get used differently from school to school.
As I say though, I can better help, I believe, in video format. I'll have it out as soon as I can get it into the production schedule.
Thank you!
Jeff
Hugs from California!

@@JeffRolka I cant believe you answer all this zillion comments, that is amazing! Thank you so much!!
Hey Jeff! First of all, you’re a legend, thanks for all the videos :) secondly, I haha a little question: I’m 18 and a baritone, in my “best days” I can reach a G#4, but struggling a lot. Do you recommend that i start to do tenor exercises??
singing high notes won’t make you hit even higher notes you will just strain your voice, keep strengthening your comfortable range and your total range will expand on its own
I will keep working on this. Thanks, brother!
Which is the lowest note please?
Do the teeth touch when doing the trill?
Put a little space in there if you can. Bring the jaw down to what vocal teachers call the 'hung' position. Sort of middling between teeth touching and comfortably open. Hung would be between those two positions.
I hope that helps!
Jeff
Wish I wasn’t somewhat tone deaf... doing better though
