Old school anthrax fan who's 50 now was absolutely amazed when this album came out and they got away with changing the singer that good/GREAT (praise to the mighty Joey Belladonna too, though!)
I saw them on this tour at the Agora in Cleveland. Fight opened up for them. I was only 22 at the time and what a time to be young! My sister’s best friend let me munch her box in the back seat of my car after the concert. Good times!
John is my favorite ANthrax! He is relevant, sounds great, and his lyrics on his debut with ANTHRAX WERE THE BEST IN ALL ANTHRAX CATALOGUE! PACKAGE REBELLION! JOHN IS KING!!!

Absolute showcase. JB is one of the best to ever do it. Thoughtful, talented, and powerful vocalist/lyricist/performer. I love the stuff he did with Anthrax.
I know some people think that Joey Belladonna was anthrax and that John Bush ruined it but the albums put out were frickin killer. Two different sounds for sure. But two kick ass eras.
Belladonna's Anthrax are key to metal evolution, etc. but Belladonna's Anthrax in 2023 makes no sense to me. Bush brought the band to a different level in terms of song writing. They're simply better albums and he's simply a better singer. Unfortunately, they sold a shitty amount of albums
It was difficult to accept the change u know Joey sang so fast and they had established a signature sound with him, but oddly enough now that he's back I don't think he covers Bush era stuff very well. I don't know it's kinda the VanHalen/VanHagar dilemma! truthfully I like both versions of anthrax bush sings old school metallica just awesome!
Bush is indeed a better singer, unfortunately he didn't came out in a particularly glorious era of Anthrax with a lot of flaws and the band trying to be everyone else but themselves. Make no mistake, it was clearly not a singer issue.
I have always seen the next night in Dallas as the best concert Ive ever seen. that is high praise with approx 100 big metal shows seen and 82 of those were a shit ton of bands not named Metallica. Anthrax was on fire on that tour!!
Anthrax had established such a signature sound with Joey it was like speed metal/thrash/rap and his vocals fit the band very well. In 93 the band was looking to take on a new direction, bands like pantera and pearl jam were big. They looked to Bush's firey, gritty, gruff powerful vocals to carry them into this new era. 2 different versions both unique in their own rights and in someways confusing to figure out today who suits the band better lol!
What a great performance! Great energy, save for Dan. He doesn't seem into it at all, yet his solos are smokin. John sounds awesome, and I love the Reggie Lewis jersey!
I saw this show in San Antonio at sunken gardens about a few days or so before lol! I lost my mind! First time I had ever seen anthrax and the John bush era was when I really got drawn in while all of the rest my friends got drawn out I hung in there FTW 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thank you Thank you for uploading this video! I was working in the pit with security. My boys kicked ass that night and the show was a beast! Good times at the old Tower Theater. I broke two ribs near the end of the show.
26:17 Is that Rocky Marciano on the screen behind the band?? What does he have to do with the song Antisocial or Anthrax?? Seems weird they just stick a picture of him up there. Or is that someone else??
@@zolyguy It was actually really cool. Satchel (Steel Panther) was on guitar and either he or the bass player toked a joint on stage. Rob never looked up the whole night, he had his head down and a ball cap pulled down low... until the last song, "Freewheel Burning", and Rob looked up, tossed the cap, took off his shirt and threw it into the crowd. All hell broke loose. A friend of a friend went diving into the crowd, intent on getting that shirt... he came back to where we were standing and was ALL beat up. "Did you get something?" I asked. He unfolds one fist... and there's like a tiny, torn square of black cotton. Then he promptly threw up in his buddy's face (yeah Duane, remember that?). Ya just can't make shit like that up. What a night.
Spitz left the band shortly after this concert, he wasn't into playing music anymore at that time. He went on to study Watch making via some prestigious school in Switzerland (can't remember the name), later manufacturing high end 'Time Pieces' (watches).
I love Joey and John, its like we got two bands in one, but listening to one sing the others work its clear Bush has a strong advantage here, though thats no fault of Joeys. Johns voice sounds so good singing the early Anthrax works, Joeys voice is just a poor fit for the Bush stuff, The last few Anthrax albums have been amazing though. We've Come for You All will always be my favorite though, such a great album, start to finish.
I'm speechless. THANK YOU A 10000X!! .Sir...i am in your debt!! question though..unless i missed it repeatedly...is Packaged Rebellion not performed? With it being my fav track off the album it "of course" was the song dropped on the night of this setlist LOL
Slightly ironic that Chuck D has said that he only knows about Joeythrax, when it has only ever been Johnthrax that could play Bring the Noise (in Chuck’s absence).
priceless video, but the set list is completely inaccurate. would be great to get an accurate one for this set. where's packaged rebellion, for instance? not after in my world and before only
Anthrax was absolutely untouchable here. It makes no sense they didn't explode to superstardom during this time. Just bad luck with the label not being behind them. They couldn't catch a break.
I finally pinpointed the reason why after this tour things went south. As I watch Dan I'm actually uncomfortable by how much he isn't into it. Never once did he bang his head. Never once looked happy. 4 guys giving all and one barely there in spirit. Call me crazy but it's a huge vibe killer. If I was at this show I would have walked out wondering what the problem was like every other show on this tour.
Haha @ the brotha in yellow (security) he didn’t know what the he’ll he signed up for that night. Unfortunately I was 14 yrs old and a school night. No money. Otherwise I would of been there.
They should've called the band something else. The record label would never back enough, just like Jon Corabi Motley Crue. Call them something else like Audioslave did, would've been bigger.
Why is it that despite Bush being the textbook definition of a Metal singer, the minute he got onstage with Anthrax he almost became a different person?
I miss Bush in Anthrax
Prime Anthrax in my honest opinion!
Sound of white noise it’s a great album! John Bush rules
Invisible is an amazing song.
Old school anthrax fan who's 50 now was absolutely amazed when this album came out and they got away with changing the singer that good/GREAT (praise to the mighty Joey Belladonna too, though!)
JOHN BUSH FOREVER 🤘🏻
He's the best!
No shit, Chet. Was and still is amazing. Love that guy!
I love all eras of Anthrax, but, there's a special place in my heart for the music the put out during the Bush era
I saw them on this tour at the Agora in Cleveland. Fight opened up for them. I was only 22 at the time and what a time to be young! My sister’s best friend let me munch her box in the back seat of my car after the concert. Good times!

Bush and Anthrax was a hell of a mix
Dan Spitz last tour , now he's got the time!!!

Absolute showcase. JB is one of the best to ever do it. Thoughtful, talented, and powerful vocalist/lyricist/performer. I love the stuff he did with Anthrax.
And a genuinely good guy. You never hear this guy talking shit about anyone.
I know some people think that Joey Belladonna was anthrax and that John Bush ruined it but the albums put out were frickin killer. Two different sounds for sure. But two kick ass eras.

john could sing joeys songs and sound good but joey does not do johns songs justice, he just cant sing them. 2 different styles
John is better

Immaculate voice

They had a gem to further their career and they did what Motley Crue did. John Corabi. Fired a guy named John because some people
best anthrax line up
Yes!!!My favorite Anthrax line-up ever!!!
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Pastor Murray is an Anointed Servant of GOD who teaches the Word of GOD with Authority!!!!!!!
What a great performance! Great energy, save for Dan. He doesn't seem into it at all, yet his solos are smokin. John sounds awesome, and I love the Reggie Lewis jersey!
He must have had a collection of 90’s NBA jerseys. When I saw them on this tour in Cleveland he was wearing a Horace Grant jersey.
I think Dan was long checked out by this point, unfortunately. My favorite Anthrax lineup by far.
Good God! The start of Room For One More with the loud snare MAKES IT 100X better!
I saw them in 94 for the Sound of White Noise tour. Awesome! Would be cool to see John do something with Anthrax
Fantastic! Watching this in honor of John Bush's birthday today. \m/
I was there! 🤘

John Bush pushed Anthrax to another level. Shoukd still be in that band
I was there that night. It was pretty wild, as I recall. Fight killed it as an opener, Rob had that crowd amped up and ready to go.

thank you
yeahhh!!!!
solo una palabra: conciertazo!!!!!
Con john bush anthrax era demoledor
Thx . This is fn awesome
Scott Ian was here the coolest with his Charvel Surfcaster, Dan Spitz was more than bored to play, - however his solos are great
Spitz left the band shortly after this concert, he wasn't into playing music anymore at that time. He went on to study Watch making via some prestigious school in Switzerland (can't remember the name), later manufacturing high end 'Time Pieces' (watches).
Best madhouse version ever

I wish Danny was still in the band.
They don’t play Packaged Rebellion here
Super!!!!!!!

John bush bob sponge shoes are the best !!
5:58 Caught In A Mosh
Bush fit the 90's better than Joey, He is like Eddie Vedder's older, cooler hesher brother.
That's not saying much at all.
🤘
What happened nearly at 1:11:00
I think a fan fell in the pit between the crowd and the stage.
Security guy got rough with the guy that jumped off the stage. Scott Ian went off on security guy. Band was still pissed about it after the show
Happens whenever you have a bunch of excited people in close quarters. Luckily it seemed minor in this instance. Anyone have more info?

watching this you might have a point, kinda looks like hes just going through the motions ?
He walked out of the band around that time. Now he makes luxury watches.

Scott Ian sporting a Gibson Sg?
That's a charvel guitar, sister company to Jackson
Haha @ the brotha in yellow (security) he didn’t know what the he’ll he signed up for that night. Unfortunately I was 14 yrs old and a school night. No money. Otherwise I would of been there.
Без Бушша поклонники на концертах слушают только совсем старые песни(((
Then they came begging Joey to come back when the money offers were rolling in for the classic lineup. Please...
Dan Spits seems so serious.. I think he's made up his decision to leave at that point.
Fuckin thrash band. ❤

bush put more angst to the songs of ANTHRAX... now its more metal than ever 😎....sorry bella

Mauricio Hernández Díaz por qué lo decís?
John Bush is Best of Best Metalic vocal & Dan Spitz is Keyman
Lot's of Thrash bands in the 90s stabbed the genre in the back 😂😂
They sold out to the nostalgic idoit Anthrax fans. No offense to Joey. John came in and carried the torch on then something happened.
I have respect for john bush but he will never be like joey belladona
No, of course, he won't be "like" Joey B, but he is awesome in his own right.
No, of course!! He Is better!!!!
You're right..Joey sings like a bird..John roars like a Lion!
@@ExodusCheez can he sing medusa and lone justice without sounding like a croaking frog?
Can Joey sing any John song? Nope. Go look up Only with Joey. Its bad. And I'm being nice.
