This was such an important conversation! As a mother of 4 who was not born into the tradition and in fact have only been practicing for a few years, introducing the tradition has been challenging. They are already young adults and have formed their own concepts about spirituality and religion. I have done the basics in protection with ide and ileke ceremonies, and I am continuously sharing what I learn with them. I will give them the space to figure it out for themselves AND…I will continue the conversation through my practice and living the tradition as authentic as I can in prayer that they see how my life, my confidence, my health, and my wealth are increasing! 🙏🏽
It is beautiful that you are including them in your journey AND allowing them to also explore and learn at their own pace and in their own time. It is such a delicate balance. Thank you for sharing your experience and perspectives. We truly appreciate it.
This was such important conversation!! Especially, as a mother who did not grow up in the tradition, and in fact have only been in practice for a few years. I have 4 children who I’ve introduce to the concepts of the tradition, but haven’t necessarily forced it on them. This is what I chose for myself and my destiny! I will continue to live in practice as authentic as possible and share information/history of the tradition with them. I will also encourage them to research for themselves as I did! I include them by praying for them and getting Dafa for them. They have ide. They have ilekes. But they also have a very basic understanding. The conversation will definitely continue! 🤗 Thank you for this platform!!!❤
Thank you so much for engaging with us! Every situation and household is different for sure. It is great that you let them explore and form their relationship with the Orisa and establish what it means to them. You are setting a wonderful foundation. E ku se ooo!
Yes! There are many different was and routes to motherhood. I think that they should all be celebrated and honored. I love the way you put that. Thank you for sharing.
This segment 26:45 is a serious topic. I often let my son know…. This is your pool to choose from. (Our community) and at a minimum you are a “MOREHOUSE MAN” and we are a traditional family.
The black family should be a topic of deep discussion in our community. It is a key to our legacy and wealth. If the black family does not survive, WE do not survive. Thank you for watching and engaging with us.
Just know that you are NEVER alone. We may feel the need to be by ourselves by choice (which is fine) ..AND please reach out anytime you need to. You have plenty of people who love you.
