  • Theodore Roosevelt's 1886 Winchester Rifle is examine on this Curator's Corner with John Popp and Phil Schreier of the NRA National Firearms Museum. The Winchester was owned, and used, by Roosevelt before, during and after his presidency. Why does the rifle look untouched? Records show that Roosevelt's rifle went back to the Winchester plant on five separate occasions. Each time to be refit, refinished and rejiggered to the President's specifications. The exhibit, Theodore Roosevelt - Trappings of an Icon: The Oval Office of the Summer White House 1902-1908, is currently open to the public at the NRA National Firearms Museum. Also check out 10,000 zoomable pics of 3,000 guns at the museum website, NRAmuseum.com. NRAnews.com (episode aired 5-10-12)

This would have been a good video if there had been enough light! It looked like it was filmed in a coal cellar at midnight.
