Hi there, we're a 10 mile railway, and we actually use 3 different styles of signalling. Between Alresford and the country end of Ropley, you can find lower quadrant semaphore. London end of Ropley to Medstead is generally upper quadrant semaphore except for the odd colour light. Finally, Alton is signalled with mark 1 colour light signalling.
Excellent to see that the Paddle is still being used on the TC unit to indicate that the Handbrake is on.
has LUL, flogged their rolling stock to the mid hants ? great video, whats happened to 50.027 LION ? still being repaired ?
I always remember the Southern as upper quadrant signals, why are these lower?
The lower quadrant signals are LSWR types. Upper quadrants didn't come into common use until the mid-1920s.
i see you use lower quadrant signals on your railway, and what is the distance of mid hants railway
