YES! Suzie is so right. a lot of people tend to have the misconception of thinking Persona 3's theme is just all about death that's why people think its "edgy" but its more than that.
Not gonna spoil anything but Makoto is the only Persona protag who went through and completed that journey. It really is primarily about living your life to the fullest, spending time cherishing your loved ones, accepting the loss of loved ones by moving past by it remembering them dearly making them a part of us.
Persona 3 has the most impactful and meaningful themes in the series. I'm glad the voice actors understands it well.
Within the fanbase the only thing that I feel people cling to in terms of the theming around death is the fear that the fate of certain characters will be reversed which is a pretty valid concern because it would make those moments feel dumbed down and lose a huge part of why they were done in the first place. Yes, the game is about life and death and each character already fulfills those roles, if a character passes the other lives on in their stead fulfilling both sides of the theme.
All of the main series titles have deep themes.
to be fair the theme can be boiled down to a word that literally means “remember you are mortal/will die” and death is a big part of the story but like the point of the game and the remembering your a human is to live life to the fullest

i love the old cast - i hope i'll love the new cast. regardless, the latter seem to be bringing their A-game and an authenticity that makes it feel like i'll probably wind up doing so!
It's totally okay to miss the old, the problem is the people not giving it a chance and criticizing the work of the new and acting toxic

Giving how old the original game is and even older the old cast is i think it's justified to swap for the new cast since you know.. voice do change overtime.
Same reason why Yumi kawamura is not the lead singer anymore, the gal is 60+ (im judging purely by the looks) and still have amazing voice but you can't trick age (im guessing it's also part of her decision too since most of the P3 songs is very taxing, Also she's somebody grandma you know probably want to spend more time with her families)

Persona 3 reload is almost here and it’s safe to say we are all fucking hyped for this game and how amazing the VA’s and atlus team are putting into it. Thank you all for your hard work on this game

This behind the scenes series has been awesome. You really can tell the amount of passion every VA has for their profession and their role. Genuinely can’t wait to hear everyone’s performances when the game releases; just a few short weeks left!!

Seeing how the new casts are really into the roles makes me so happy and excited. Cuz persona 3 was my first experience with the franchise so these characters are really dear to me. I really enjoyed Minato's Journey out of all Protagonists

I loved watching the Reloaded videos. Seeing the cast talk about their roles and how much the Persona series means to them is so wholesome. Can’t wait to hear them in P3 Relod!!!
I am really excited for this new cast. I still have nostalgia for the old cast but this new cast is making me optimistic. Funny enough I think Zeno really nails Junpei. I don't hear Hunter from The Owl House or Hawks from My Hero Academia I hear Junpei. I am looking forward to going on this journey again.

Not to detract or anything, but it'd be nice to see Atlus JP bring the jp vas together for something similar
Closest thing is them doing countdown of game’s release daily on ATLUS’s account through other sites.
The Japanese side has been doing a voice countdown on Twitter with the entire cast participating.
They even included Kurosawa, Eiichiro Takeba, Takeharu Kirijo and Natsuki.

Like a lot of people, when the new cast was first announced I was pretty skeptical. Persona 3 is a game that means so much to me so to see the change had me worried at first. But honestly, this cast has gone so far above and beyond in showing their passion and excitement that I’m now more excited and more confident that this cast can go even further above the old. Persona 3 Reload is going to be peak.

well Liam has been busy lately with Critical Role and also other roles, in fact most of the old cast have been busy.
The only people I know are returning is Yuri as Yukari dad now, and I think Shinjiro old VA (if I'm not wrong) is a voice director for Reload so he is indirectly back behind the scenes.

I will never understand why American localizations love changing voice actors of confirmed characters meanwhile Japan respects the voice actors and their character role even until their death.
