    Great video Jim. I know you are a big advocate for Luminar which is fine as we all have our favorites. This is one of the best videos I have seen on On1 in the seven + years I have used. On1 does an acceptable job with their videos but the detail you put in yours are great. I would have never known about these little checks in Brillance if you didn't point them out. Anyway great job and I would really enjoy see more On1 videos from you.

    Jim - Great video. It really helps when you show your work sequences. I keep realizing how really powerful this program is.
    Your discussion of Transform intrigues me. When we travel I frequently take pictures of signs that describe what I am viewing. It always seems to me that for a variety of reasons my camera angle results in a distorted shape. Historically, I have been able to correct this by cropping and using the Transform capabilities in Photoshop Elements. I am curious to see if the Transform function is flexible enough to deal with this issue.

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  8 місяців тому

      Thanks Steve and yes I would think Transform could help a lot with those sign pics. Worth a shot for sure. It can totally "fix" a lot of those sorts of things. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks Jim for this excellent run through of On1 Raw 2024 which has so many adjustment controls. Thanks also for the tip of setting the preferences to 50% for Brilliance AI. I personally feel it is always a bit too much and good to be able to calm it down at the start. I also find that No Noise AI and Tack sharp to be a bit to much some times but at least there is so much control built into to software,.

    Great intro to using On 1. For years I have been using Lightroom/Photoshop, because I am not good at learning new programs. But, I have been going to On 1 for years as plugins for sharpening, re sizing and sky replacement, but have never embraced On 1 as my main editing program. I would like to abandon the Adobe subscription as I have had many issues trying to use Lightroom when I had no internet. But I use the radial and linear gradient often and not sure if or where it is in On 1. I also shoot many real estate and need to combine two images in separate layers, and needs to find that in On 1. but I truly want to have this as my main editor. just get too confused learning new software. this was a nice intro.

    • @JimNix
      @JimNix  7 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching and yes there are various masking tools as well as layers in On1. To get to masking you can hit M while in Edit. The masking options are at the top of the screen. I will be coming back with more videos that show how masking works.

    Thanks Jim for yr. videos. I'am written you from Spain as recently I got this program and found in yr, videos the best way to learn how to use it. One thing I'd would like to ask you , how I can add my camera profile (Sony A7III) into the ON1?. I got the Adobe DNG Converter but I don`t Know how to go further. Thanks in advance for yr. help.

      Thanks for watching. If you are in the Tone & Color section of Develop, click on the drop down menu under Camera Profile. At the bottom there is an option to import. Click that and choose the profile you have. Thanks.

    Great presentation, way better than ON1 Master kit($$$) with Rick & Hudson who present their work only with keyboards shortcuts so that we can't visualise on the video. For learners, it is impossible to learn shortcuts first, we must learn with the mouse and click on the screen to open menues and select. ON1 is not intuitive, it looks as if it were created by engineers. But it as great qualities with presets and LUTS.
