You did a great job. I think there is great value to seeing different approaches to editing in ON1. I am really surprised at some of the critical comments made. You will always have a fan base and need not be disillusioned by those who do not see the value of your work. I look forward to future videos and the hours of time to produce them
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the kind words and support. I never let comments like that get to me but I don't appreciate people being so discouraging of other people's work. I always think how many wonderful creative people have quit because of other people's ignorance or bad manners. It really is an awful pity people just can't be a bit kinder to each other. We are all only trying to create art after all. Thanks again 👍
Hi Donna, thanks and realy glad you could understand me and I wasn't talking too fast or too slow for you :-) It's a hard world now when you try to please everyone :-) I will be popping up a one on editing portraits soon (should be over the next week). Thanks again and I appreciate the kind feedback.
You're very welcome and it certainly is impossible to please everyone. Noticed the comments below about ads, you don't have to see any if you pay UA-cam a subscription or very often a 'skip' option pops up after a few seconds. It seems to vary each time. @@kieranhayesphotography
@@donnaleggatt7079 It certainly isn't getting any easier to please people. The ads are a pain at times but I never had ads that were that long, so not sure what's going on there.
Believe it or not, for me that is going slow. I would normally do that in a couple of minutes. I am trying to slow down my videos and I am slowly getting there. If I go too slow my mind starts to wander and as these videos are not scripted it just becomes a jumbled mess them. I am used to working under serious pressure in commercial shoots where time is big money. Scott Davenport and Jim Nix do great nice slow tutorials. For me this is more about an insight into how I normally edit a photographic and what's possible. I am sorry if I wasted your time as that was never my intention with this video 👍 Have a great weekend.
Ah sure look that wasn't the point of the video tbh. Not much point me talking about UI tools and their location, because what suits one person might not suite another. The best thing to do is to email ON1 and express what issues you are having or your dislikes and that might leave an impression, the end of the day I am just one person and my thoughts don't really matter in all this.
Hi and thanks for watching. You should be able to skip the commercials after a few seconds. The reason why they are there is I am not paid to produce these videos but they do take a good bit of my time to do between the recording and editing time and uploading answering questions etc... it takes about 4 or 5 hours in total. I get pittance from the ads as I have a very small UA-cam account and in honesty it doesn't pay me at all to produce any of these videos but it does help of set a few costs and pay for software. That's why the ads are there to just help a tiny bit and maybe even cover my costs. Now if I was paid to produce videos then of course I wouldn't put ads in also as that's just getting gready. To give you an idea of what I am talking about I make around $100 a month from UA-cam... Now keep in mind I charge well over that for a one hour photo shoot. So as you can see I don't do it for the money but at the same time it's nice to get a tiny little bit back at the same time. I hope that helps to explain why the ads are there.
@@kieranhayesphotography Thanks for the fast response. There is no way to bypass the commercials. Many of these videos have a way to click skip, but not this. If you know of a way to do this please let me know.
I can't explain that, I set up all my videos the same and they should be skippable, I think UA-cam puts the odd one in that isn't. When I tried it there now I could skip through the ads. I guess they are after changing something now again. I will check it out in more detail later on but for now I can't see anything wrong or different.
@@kieranhayesphotography I tried again. There are about 30 minutes of commercials. I didn't go past that. I actually went out after about 5 minutes of the 3rd. commercial.
Another video with speach problems. The first video i watched from you, sounded like you had 12 cups of coffee. This video you put me to sleep. You sounded like that painter with the fro hair whispering on mic. your speach kept on going up and down. Almost like you had a mouthful of peanut butter. ON1 should hire someone else. Your knowledge might be fantastic, but you sure don't have a Howard Stern projective voice. Also, during your edits, you never click the before button to see what you have exactly done throughout your lengthy process. jmho
Hey Markus thanks for your input and I highly recommend you don't subscribe to me ever. Because if I speak too fast and then too slow then I just ain't gonna get it right for you ever mate. No offence of course but this just ain't gonna work out my love. On the point of ON1 hiring me... ON1 don't pay me and never hired me, I did it off my own back but it seems you didn't think of that. I am a professional photographer and I make my money from a nice mix of commercial photoshoots and Landscape photography. I post my UA-cam videos to help give back to the photography community and help educate people a bit more. What's funny is another person told me I went too fast in this video. Ye totally crack me up and that kind of made my day tbh so cheers dude.

I also have a video on portrait editing in ON1 Photo Raw 2024 coming soon...

Hi Paul, thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed it.
How did you add your camera profile under Tone & Color?
Hi, it should be there automatically, is it not there in your copy?
@@kieranhayesphotography No. I downloaded the Adobe DNG converter and now they show up.
First thing I do is click lens correction, just in case that ...
It's usually up there with my first steps also as it can have a fairly dramatic effect on the final image some times.
Great edit and tutorial.

What you should have talked about is how all the UI tools are now hidden from view. Not your interpretation of your edit.
