Not sure about the previous comment, but these indeed have SWAROVISION, in fact Swaroski states that these binos are an accumulation of all their current technologies put together - from coatings to field flatteners to materials. Compared to Leica Noctivid (I own both) the NLs seem slightly brighter due to slightly less saturation in the colors. The field of view is totally noticeable with the EXACT SAME eye relief. Ergonomics are incredible - you can easily handhold this thing single hand without the headrest and still get a very stable image. For accurate nice colors, I still prefer the Noctivid, but overall the NL Pure is the best bino on the market. The comfort and extra field of view is worth the upgrade from the EL.

Thank you for this very informative test. I am a wildlife photographer and a polar guide in Svalbard and Antarctica. Binoculars are my first tool for looking for bears on the ice... in particular. I have old Swaro 8x30 SLCs which still work great but I want to invest in a newer 10x42 pair and the NL Pure look great ! However, I have read on some forums that these binoculars posed two major problems: 1/ condensation on the eyes piece lenses especially in cold conditions (much much more than other best binoculars). This would be due to the abandonment of the treatment of glasses (SvaroClean) which would contain composant harmful to the environment. 2/ Glare problems in bright light conditions (snow, water, reflections...) which would be due to the fact that the inside of the frame is not black over the entire body of the binoculars (unlike the Leica Noctivid ). Do you have an opinion on these two points which are essential for me given my use (use on the sea, in the Arctic > snow, ice, water, strong contrast and negative temperatures). thanks guys :)

Thanks for your extremely detailed questions! They have been great topics of discussion for a day or two. We're not sure where the info on the forums you mentioned came from, but we have gathered info straight from the source.
We've tried to address your concerns in the most straightforward way possible and have reached out to a Swarovski rep for help. Here is our response.
      1.) Fogging and SwaroClean:
"Swarovski Optik did discontinue the formula of the original SwaroClean lens coating due to materials potentially harmful to the environment. However, many of the other large European optic brands had to discontinue the same coatings."
The SwaroClean coating itself was not intended to and will not protect from fog build up on the exterior of the lens. It had more to do with condensation (think, Rain-X).
Swarovski recommends using any third party anti-fog glass spray to help prevent the fog build up in extreme cold conditions. However, a hot face next to a cold piece of glass will sometimes cause fogging, no matter the coating or care taken.
      2.) Glare/Inner coating:
"The interior of the NL Pure is in fact black in color, however there are certainly other brands of binoculars that feature a darker interior objective housing."
We have not had complaints about the NL Pure in cold weather conditions. We have personally tested them in negative temperatures and not experienced condensation. We agree that a good anti-fog spray is a great thing to have, but the changes in coatings have not affected their performance in the field, so far as we can gather.

For here in Az world you pack this or the 15x56 slc for all species ??

Sorry for the late response, Ryan. The consensus at the shop is for all species, the NL Pure is definitely the ticket, especially the 12x42. We love our 15s for certain situations like desert mule deer hunting, but the NL is shockingly good all-around.

These look great but anyone that owns EL’s knows it’s hard to imagine it could get any better.

You don't have to imagine it. That's the best part - it's real!

    • @Outdoorsmans
      @Outdoorsmans  Рік тому +2

They are extremely stable with the forehead rest and very stable even without!

@@Outdoorsmans thank you man. I was prone to buy 10x42 but shaking restricted me but after your answer I can surely purchase 10x42.

Swarovski are brilliant but not sure if their build quality is to last many years.

We've used them pretty hard for over 20 years. Only a few failures due to drops/accidents. Also, Swarovski's customer service is excellent. They'll always take care of you.

MOST OVERHYPED! I don’t expect this from Swarovski. These binoculars have wider field of view because they have less eye relief. It is physics not magic. Swarovski always overstates their eye relief by 3mm. But these binoculars are so expensive and don’t phase swaro vision. Instead they have gimmicky plastic pieces and price is 3k. BS!

      Howdy, Jay.
Thanks for your opinion! If you don't think that this is the best binocular on the market like we do, we understand. We're sorry the video upset you!
