Awesome to see another legend video of Fatslob :D By the way, around 50:20 when you talk about the projectiles disappearing and reappearing: notice how you're on red's POV and he has vision of where the trebs start firing, then no vision for a few tiles, and then he does have vision of where the shot lands. The projectiles "disappear" in areas where the player whose POV you're on doesn't have vision. If they land in an area you have vision of, then you can see them again. I don’t know why people get mad at him and call him a noob! They’re basically calling him a noob for not letting them early rush into his base and kill a bunch of villagers before he’s even really got stuck in and built up so has to resign! If anything id say this is how it should be played! Or not should but trying to cut someone down before they’re able to flex their talents is kind of sheepish! If you have balls and confidence in your skill and unit choice etc then you should be pleased to have the time to build up and strategise how you want and not having to worry if you accidentally killed a sheep too far away that now the other guy will get ahead and kill you in dark ages before you’ve even been able to do much beyond the usual start game rush to get economy etc going! If I had aoe2 on this platform I’d happily play fatslob! If anything he even offers a fairer chance for players of varying skill levels to attack him! Not everyone knows the exact precise routine at the start to get sheep and use some to scout and just everything timed perfectly! You can build at your own pace pretty much and you can either wait for fatslob to push you when he’s good and ready or you can plan your way to crack his defences! I think you’d learn more from a game with fatslob than a game with a pro like viper who will kill you so quick because he’s got the start game memorised like clockwork and will rush ahead and take you out before you can get your shit together! Given how many games he’s played on this same map and set up he could easily get good at a fast start and kill them quick if he wanted but he wants to test his own and the enemy’s skills with full power and military strength and now it comes down to good military decisions not just being quick at the admin and maintenance of the game and picking an opponent off while they’re still weak and unfinished

I actually met Fatslob playing Battlefield V a couple of months ago, he was a really cool dude. I knifed this guy, and noticed his name was Fatslob, so I asked him if he knew T90, as a test I guess. He replied "it's nice to meet AoE fans here" so I assume it probably was him. Also he said that Hamada needs more stone walls. I'm from Brazil, so he said he was on a trip here and was just playing a bit of BFV. Now, I know that sounds like it could be a copycat, but since he seems to be a more reserved person from what I gathered from T90's videos I decided to not invade his privacy by asking what he was doing here and such. Anyway, I choose to believe I met the real legend, and if you're reading this, Fatslob, cheers man! I hope you liked Brazil!
@T90Official the "gathering spot" is more efficient if you get the vill fast enough. Otherwise it will start walking to the treeline, and then have to walk back.
I love Fatslob, he has played Black Forest Vikings a bit too much in his life... And it's majestic. He may lose once or twice, but man if he isn't a master of slowing down the games to his pace. It's as if he knows every tree in the forest by heart, and as the enemies fletch their arrows from the trees, Fatslob knows, and as they fire them at Fatslob, the arrows as if guided by a gentle hand all veer away from Fatslob, and as they hit the ground an army of Berserkers rise to fight for Fatslob.
it's my first fatslob vid because i'm a new viewer. I knew he was famous for the wall (fatslob nothing) but what really struck me is the fights. he takes good trades, he's aggressive at the right time and retreats at the right time (most of the time). he baits and micro and his k/d is around 2 most of the time. that's what seem most impressive to me.
The trebuchet projectile disappearing at around the 50 minute mark is a mechanic that was in the game since day 1. The trebs were far enough in Red's FoW so as to not be totally in Red's LOS. Projectiles passing through any fog of war (such as the small space between Red's vision and Fatslob's troops) will not be seen :D. Would be really cool if they could tweak that mechanic though (somehow). On a side note: Been watching the YT since early 2016, been following twitch since late 2016 (made the twitch account to follow and mostly lurked up until recently) but its been insane how far you've come along man. Here's to another 4 years! (Probably won't see this comment, but that's aight).
Regarding someone cutting through the trees to breach his base, couldn't he just scout that at some point and wall that area off when it gets close? And, regarding his farms and villager spawn points, I'm assuming he leaves a blank area for that spot since they are spawning there and he doesn't want the farm to get selected when he's trying to select the worker quickly. And for why he doesn't have the workers rallied to a resource, it looked like he was setting them all to new farms. Now, if there's a hotkey for idle workers, that defeats the purpose of having a blank area at the TC, but still makes sense to rally them to start idle, if he intends the ones spawning to be making farms.
Imagine if when Red snuck his berserkers in that he sent some villagers to build a wall and fortress on Fatslob's side of the map. That would be an even stronger distraction slob couldn't ignore and would have to answer.
I just thought of a strategy for Fatslob... Rush mid like he does but instead of walling *across* the gap build a line of walls *through* it. That way no matter how many layers of walls he builds, you still have a line you can just delete when you're ready to start pushing
Maybe Fatslob was a Broodwar player. Rallying workers to a resource doesn't automatically assign them to mine in Broodwar so you rally them somewhere that is open so you can easily select and assign them.
Fatslob way of acting is so interesting, just watched these four videos on him and damn. I've noticed he always prepares the battle area by clipping away the extra trees with the trebs, like... He wants it to be completely even. He did the same thing on each video, attack-grounded the extra trees on the sides and once he's done the fight commences. So entertaining!
How to beat Fatslob: Don't do what Fatslob wants. What does Fatslob want? Fatslob wants- 1.A single front/choke point 2.A single large massed army 3.Time to build eco and forces How to stop him- 1.Rush to the choke point early and vill fight for control. 2.Cut through the forest at both sides of the choke point. 3.Chop trees at the choke to expand it, making it ineffective. 4.Lure Fatslob past the choke point to expose his army on mulitple sides. 5.Flank fatslob attacking from multiple sides.
Oh and btw, I'm here from recommended. The algorithm has blessed us both this day. I only rarely watch warcraft 3 or broodwar, so it's not like my recommended is full of strategy. #stupidblessed
Hey T90. Just an idea you could relate to the Capture Age guys: Maybe they could include a stat for total idle villager time. Might be a useful thing. Love your content. Keep up the good work.
13:45 he definitely is doing this so he can see the spawned villagers standing idle. If there is a farm there he might confuse idle villagers for the active farmer and it would sit idle longer.
First strategy is don't build next to the bottleneck, wasted structures in treb range and wasted economy. I think the key would be a modified boom to focus on crashing the market. You could put up a couple castles but after that sell all stone to drop the value and get the gold first, unless Fatslob already pushes this strategy. Mike started out with an advantage having three relics though. After all stone available is mined and sold with mass villagers, go full trebs and nothing else. Villagers push forward with walls, trebs follow behind. Mike could have trebbed that stone mining in the bottleneck but focused on crossbowmen that didn't provide any pressure.
Think Red should have gone for Cavalier at some point, probably instead of light cav. Yeah they're expensive, but you have to make that flank attack count. You've got one chance to run in unopposed, but the light cav just melted against Berzerks and the Castles. Post-Imp Cavaliers kill Post-Imp Berzerks pretty easily. I thought Arbs would have been better than they were. At some point it was obvious, they just weren't a very efficient choice, so Red needed to try something else. He also needed to time his flank attacks with a push/feint in the center. FatSlob is slower to react, and not as good at multi-tasking, so take advantage of that. Red should have picked a fight in the center, while running a bunch of Cavaliers in from behind to sandwich FatSlob's army. At that point in an Black Forest game, nobody is short of res, so killing vills just frees pop space for military. Destroying most of FatSlob's army would have allowed Red to push him way back.
I'm brand new to this game and only played black forest 1 time I'd like to take on the challenge of playing this guy I'm very good in late game situations so far my longest match was 8 hours long so I think I could take this guy on
Back in the day I played almost exactly like fatslob though didn't care that much who was who. I was a slow player. So wall up prevents cheap rushes and black forest was easiest to wall up. Then allows me to actually play the game. Once the game hit the 30 min mark I considered it well played and at that point didn't care who won.
I played this game when I was 13 after seeing a educational poster about longboats at my school.( They used an AOE II longboat in one of their pics.) At that time my country's internet infrastructure is not that good so I didnt get the chance for MPs. I won 1v1 againest extreme AI a couple of times if I play Spanish.(Their villagers were pretty strong and cannon firing rate was fast those days.) Anyway, how would you guys counter this kind of composition? Produce your own scorpions? Build more trecs? More mangoes? P.S : I would lose to most players these days if I were to play this game again
The fact that the Treb shots "disappear" is caused by the fog of war, is not a bug. The shots basically traverse an area covered in fog of war and so they briefly disappear from the red player prospective.
Of course I'd love to see him play a pro player. Viper did play him once, but the game crashed in between because viper killed like 40 villagers of his to make pop space and the game couldn't take it and Viper offered to host the game himself, and fatslob denied and said to continue from his side, Viper refused and Fatslob declared he won XD As funny as that was, I'd love to see a full match
I think red could have won if he massed more military at the end instead of sending small groups to fight the berserks. Fatslob was running out of food. Also mix champions

I just found your channel.. Watched 2-3 fatslob videos I have to admit that my drive to play aoe erupted... I played it with my buddies last time in at least 15 years ago then lost interest... Fantastic explanation of the game and strategies... Bravo
I think the way fatslob rallies workers is the same way you had to do it in starcraft broodwar. If you would send it to a resource the worker would just go there and idle (I haven't played the game, so take it with a grain of salt).
as anyone tried to wall through the wall fatslob is making to open a path later on (or making him spend so much time and ressources early on to wall it)?
49:54 the trebuchet shots disappeared because they passed through fog of war. it's because physically the projectile seems to be on the ground, where the fog of war is, so its animation which is in the air doesn't show. think of the projectile as a blue unit that is really really tall but still has its "target" on the ground like any other unit, then it'll make more sense.
T90, didn't even notice the treb balls were disappearing, but the the reason why is because you were on red's point of view and they were going through the fog between trebs and normal line of sight.
Content Idea: Stream-Highlights (compilation of short clips) This saves time, because the content is already created. +People who dont watch your Stream will probably like what they see and try to catch a stream +The videos would likely be shorter, so more people would watch them (you dont always have time to watch 1h long videos) +You could include parts of games, which are boring in a whole, but have some watchable parts in it

I have stumbled down a UA-cam rabbit hole.. I do not play AOE2, but I have now watched 5 fatslob videos and somehow feel ready to face him
My favorite part of this video is when T90 drinks water.
One of the better 1:30hr wasted in my life. Well done, well worth.
Dark Phoenix? Meh
Fatslob? Instaclick
fatslob is my favorite series so far
OMG, hype! T-90 Rollercoaster Tycoon comfirmed!
"fatslob has his scorpions, he has his berserks, He has his blacksmith techs, His idle villagers, Everything just..." 43:40 11
How to beat Fatslob:
Don't do what Fatslob wants. What does Fatslob want?
Fatslob wants-
1.A single front/choke point
2.A single large massed army
3.Time to build eco and forces
How to stop him-
1.Rush to the choke point early and vill fight for control.
Or maybe do it as a percentage of total vill time that was idle?
T90! Yes please pros vs Fatslob! Viper’s interrupted attempt left an emptiness in us! 😅
Viper lost fair and square Fatslob > Viper
No, fatslob didnt want to continue, he knew he was in a bad position.
@@sygmaone I'm being sarcastic.
This man is above the status of Legend :O
It's a good tool that can zoom out farther than the mini map.
Great match, always nice to see fatslob! Great casting T90!
"One hundred aaand....69.....nice."
Nice
That farm annoyed me more than it should 😂
Yes. Fatslob vs pros. That sounds like a blast if he agrees
I'm brand new to this game and only played black forest 1 time I'd like to take on the challenge of playing this guy I'm very good in late game situations so far my longest match was 8 hours long so I think I could take this guy on
57:10 I don't know why that accidental delete of the onager made me laugh out loud
i paused the game to make popcorn unpause and he starts talking
about popcorn lol
Back in the day I played almost exactly like fatslob though didn't care that much who was who. I was a slow player. So wall up prevents cheap rushes and black forest was easiest to wall up. Then allows me to actually play the game. Once the game hit the 30 min mark I considered it well played and at that point didn't care who won.
I played this game when I was 13 after seeing a educational poster about longboats at my school.( They used an AOE II longboat in one of their pics.) At that time my country's internet infrastructure is not that good so I didnt get the chance for MPs. I won 1v1 againest extreme AI a couple of times if I play Spanish.(Their villagers were pretty strong and cannon firing rate was fast those days.)
Anyway, how would you guys counter this kind of composition? Produce your own scorpions? Build more trecs? More mangoes?
P.S : I would lose to most players these days if I were to play this game again
They disappear under the fog of war.. smarty pants. 50:20
Whooo! Glad you can use capture age. Soooo good
SO BANG
I see Fatslob, I click.
Every time when watch this channels feel event more want to play this game
I think red could have won if he massed more military at the end instead of sending small groups to fight the berserks. Fatslob was running out of food. Also mix champions
Placing palisade walls all over their base to see what they're up to is basically like if spies cost wood instead of gold lol
that farm gap for fatslob is the spot where new vils stand I guess
Such wisdom! 1:02:51 "You might have all the desirable wealth in the world but... It's not yours........ It's still Gaia's.. AAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHH!"
255 tech sea map or stone nothing would be good and refreshing to see
I just found your channel.. Watched 2-3 fatslob videos I have to admit that my drive to play aoe erupted... I played it with my buddies last time in at least 15 years ago then lost interest... Fantastic explanation of the game and strategies... Bravo
10/10 on the dance floor spectate mode.
About 20:00, YES! That would be great.
I love to believe that he let newly created villages go idle just to piss off the viewers
Aaaah fatslob the living legend
T90, didn't even notice the treb balls were disappearing, but the the reason why is because you were on red's point of view and they were going through the fog between trebs and normal line of sight.
Content Idea: Stream-Highlights (compilation of short clips)
This saves time, because the content is already created.
+People who dont watch your Stream will probably like what they see and try to catch a stream
+The videos would likely be shorter, so more people would watch them (you dont always have time to watch 1h long videos)
+You could include parts of games, which are boring in a whole, but have some watchable parts in it
I love playing in 4k. Sure I can barely read anything but I can see for miles.
