- In this video titled I Played As PRUSSIA In A RANDOM START DATE And It Was INSANE I play as one of the best countries in EU4 - Prussia in the 1567 start date which I randomly selected. Of course Europa Universalis: IV starts in 1444 and there are many other scripted or preset scenarios or start dates that you can play on, but you can also play on literally any date between 1444 and 1821. So what happens if you do?

With the extended timeline mod play as Han in the Fall of the Han Dynasty bookmark and try to put the Chinese empire back together under your rule.
👍
I love it really adds some flavor that isn’t being used by someone else, nobody plays these
Honestly, you should do that thing that Zlewikk does, chaotic succession style gaming, continuing the same game, but changing nations every 50 years. Something like this at your taste. Specially because we would be seeing you improving later nations, but with some development, buildings and their own problems. Natural, but un-optimal growth. It would be awesome to see!
I do like this format, but it could also be cool to see you do a ~random- challenge based on sub votes, kind of like how you have been doing AZ challenges… Maybe trying the highest voted comment recommended start date and nation combo sometime?
The supervillain was finally caught and sent to prison.
How is man playing EU4 in prison??? 😭 teach us your ways
One of the Dalton brothers.
I can't unsee it now😂
16:12 That Brest was probably a Cossack breakaway nation. Basically a custom nation with random ideas that fires from the Cossack estate disaster. They have the sich rada government reform hence they are republic. The Ottomans have a similar thing with Jannisaries, they too have a custom government reform
Mostly true, the ideas are not random though. They have the cossack ideas, which are quite good for a cavalry game. I just tried such a game an it was so fun to just go all out cav and stackwipe your opponents left and right and have most of the horde-abilities while being a republic (razing provinces, horde ideas) :D Later down the line, I formed Ruthenia for the mission tree, which would be missing otherwise.
I've been churning my way through a Prussia game recently, fought the Ottomans at the height of their power with 300k casualties on my side and nearly a million on theirs. 45% infantry combat ability and 20% artillery combat ability with 130% discipline does a *lot* of work.
I remember fighting the Ottomans as Prussia when I was outnumbered more than 2 to 1. Once the war started, they made it 3 to 1 and I just didn't have the manpower to keep going. Almost like real life Prussia 😂
I believe the reason prussia wasnt in the two wars to start is due to there anomous nature. The prussia region was incoperated into poland after a revolt shown as the danzig confederation in the game. Due to not being conquered and only pleging allegence to the king of poland to gain his support this lead to ducal prussia having a almost a fudalistic relasonship with the polish king where instead of being part of a state as we know it today the polish king would defend them from attack in exchange for a yearly tribute. This is one of the things that lead to the downfall of the comenwealth and the rise of prussia as they where able to use this neutrality in wars like the great northern and 30 years war exchanging help in the war for increase atonomy or if the king of poland didnt accept they would join the other side.
Nah, that's just a PDX oversight
also: it lead to the interesting position of being essentially a vassal of the Commonwealth and the HRE Emperor
which were sometimes rivals
The Commonwealth's downfall was primarily due to its horrendously dysfunctional government. The sheer power of noble factions in the General Sejm destabilized the realm, impeded reforms and eventually allowed foreign powers to begin influencing and manipulating Polish-Lithuanian politics. By the time of the partitions, countries like Russia had significant sway over the selection of Polish kings through their support for various factions of nobles. (Poniatowski, whose attempts to reform triggered the First Partition, was a former lover of Catherine the Great and was chosen by her in hopes of being loyal.) By that point, it was too late; the Commonwealth was too weak to resist and its old rivals wouldn't tolerate seeing it grow strong again. When Poniatowski tried to do just that, they chose to remove that possibility entirely.
As for East Prussia, Poland gave full sovereignty over that to Frederick William's Brandenburg-who already ruled the territory as a Polish fief-in 1657 in return for them switching to the Poles' side in the Second Northern War against Sweden. That's over a century before the partitions, and even without East Prussia Poland vastly outclassed Brandenburg-Prussia in resources; they just couldn't utilize them effectively. Giving up Prussia hurt, yes, but it was a symptom of Poland's decline, not the primary cause.
@@1Korlash I partially disagree here. Firstly to clarify I for some reason wrote that the fall of the plc was caused by there lack of control over prussia. This is me writing poorly as I ment it was a minor factor in the comonwealth colasposing but the trend it showed of lack of control over its nobles was a major factor. However just claiming that the plcs govement being poor and having a strong nobility is simply incorrect. I would suggest that its geography, culteral make up and historical events where equally important. Firstly the plc was made up of a mixture of exemly flat farmlands and large forests towards its border with russia. This terain made it extremly undeffensible with large boarders with rival powers like the ottamans, swedes, prussians, hungarians, russians and austrians which was wasnt helped by the fact that the country was huge so a invasion from a foriegn power in the east could require weeks of marching for armies to reach them. Further more there culteral make up didnt help this as the plc as the name implied was a multi-culteral empire this made it so the plc had to constantly worry about nobles and culteral minorities supporting the invasion of a foriegn power which can be shown in wars like the great northn war where nobles supported a different swedish friendly king especially nobles who where a culteral minority at least from my understanding. Finally the plc was constantly being ravenged by wars and geopolitical events. To give two examples the plc lost 30% of its population in the deluge and even more in the 30years war as well and had its currency conpletly colasp during the 7 years war as prussia found a way to create it. While yes the government of the plc was a major factor in the colasp of the plc you cant pinpoint one reason it happended when realistically it had a miriad of issues
@@jowsnow7432 While those were certainly factors, they were hardly unique to the Commonwealth. After all, Brandenburg lost a catastrophic 50 to 70 percent of its population during the Thirty Years War and had even less going for it in terms of borders and resources. (At least Poland's vast lands gave it strategic depth and its two halves weren't completely separated from each other.) That didn't stop them from rebuilding and growing in power over the next century and a half. You could also look at Russia which was in a similarly awful state during the Time of Troubles-something the Commonwealth should have remembered given how much they took advantage of it.
Regarding diversity, that was partially a self-made problem for Poland. Religiously, by the 1770s the Commonwealth's traditional tolerance had fallen by the wayside and there were significant minorities of Protestants and Orthodox Christians that now chafed under Polish rule. These people largely (and understandably) welcome the Partitions as a rescue from repression. This also applied to Jews in territory annexed by Prussia, where discrimination against them was relatively less.
As for ethnicity, look no further than the Habsburg empire-a realm which, despite troubles, managed to stand tall as a great power for centuries and took a world war to finally bring down, even after the surge in nationalism during the 19th century. Heck, Russian Finland was largely loyal to the tsars until the latter decided to start a forced Russification campaign, so the idea that minorities can't be loyal to a state-especially one that recognizes and respects them-is questionable.
Poland-Lithuania faced many challenges like you say, but they largely weren't unique or even uniquely bad compared to what their neighbors were saddled with. What was unique was their form of government which exacerbated those issues and made it nearly impossible to reform the system while also opening the door to manipulation from foreigners and selfish nobles.
24:15 this was literally me on my first prussia run (started as teutons) when i was clearing up some notifs and randomly saw i had a colonial cb on british canada
then i noticed i inherited the dano-norwegian crown
40:30 That FPS drop O_O;
Starting a "get Hawk a computer fund" so he doesn't need to stop recording to actually play
🙏
Survive as Poland in 1794, stop the third partition, get back all lost territories from prussia, austria and ru**ia
it’s like Liberty or Death on steroids
I'm quite sure zlewikk did just that. He also has done a few other "historical" challenges
13:40 Red hawk angry moment :P
Was just about to comment on that lil whoopsie 😅
hey Red Hawk you can typ in the start date :D you first pick the right day, then you can left-click on the year and typ in the year and press enter jump to the start date
You had this problem with the mission tree already in your danzig releasable video :) someone told you what you need
11:34 this Katarzyna von Habsburg kicks hard
I think you should've fought that sucession war for Austria, sure Spain has like a million troops, but they're all over the world, and they won't bring them all at once, you can very well get the wargoal and just sit and wait for a little while and win
I would guess that if he knew his stacks could auto-delete every Spanish army then he would have done it. It's easy to forget just how strong the Prussian Space Marines are.
I like this series. You should do more if you have the time.
what a fun video, loved it. was screaming internally a bit at not taking the second HRE mission but otherwise just a great video.
WHAT IS THAT HAIR!?
chris moltisanti didnt you know hawk is his son :D
First red hawk video for some time, apparantly he isn't bald now and he looks like Kenny from Tell Tales TWD game with the cap,, it feels nice to come back
I would love to see more! Also, somehow, I actually caught this within 10 minutes of release
the fact coastal defenses actually helped
So weird to see the red hawk with so long hair
I was hoping Hawk would contest the Spanish PU over Austria, but instead he chose the cowards way out! Not very Prussian of you Mr Red!
Mission for the next time: As an ally, prevent the Osmans to collapse
Those combats we're so satisfying to watch.
it doesn't usually happen unless you cross an age threshold, but things can bug out a bit if you go backwards through dates at the start instead of forward. the best example is the revolution; if you go backwards from a date that has revolution mechanics to a date that doesn't, it bugs out and the revolution UI is still present in-game.
Montenegro was quite interesting as it was a hereditary theocracy. The ruler (vladika)was an orthodox bishop at the same time time and so could not have kids, so his successor would be the son of his brother instead.
thanks for the idea, I started playing the same way, actually it's fun
RAAAAAA LETS GOOOOOOO RED HAWK VIDEO RAAAAAAAAAAAA
I wonder why hasnt Red Hawk already started villain-twirling his moustaches?
Haven’t watched a hawk video in 6+ months, but I love the hair man. Watching some videos trying to find resources to get my gf started on EU 😂
I suspect the reason Prussia isn't in the wars at the beginning is that they start with scutage turned on.
19:33 You get the Branching Missions once you complete the mission for taking Polish Lands
Everytime the hat goes on for a few episodes i'm waiting for the moment it comes off and we see the update to hawk with hair
I love these videos! Nice variety
16:12 Should have made the video title: “EU4 player sees a Brest for the first time!”
I'm fairly sure Great Britain must have been defender of the faith. That's why they came in.
They can't have intervened, there needs to already be a great power on each side for that.
I think Spain was so strong because they had the treasure fleets supplying income in a comparatively broke world. So they got to scale earlier.
ChatGPT is the least random! shenanigans
i don't know why i wrote this like a robot
GB joined on your side presumably because they were defender of the protestant faith and Austria declared on you
28:41 Weh baak as Pruwsa!
25:00 GB was defender of the faith?
Play as revolutionary Turkey for last 100 years.
In the future, could you do a great britain tutorial?
Seeing Brest is indeed a nice surprise.
Prussia: *Is well known for its super powerful military both IRL and in the game, and are known as “an army with a state.”*
RedHawk: *is surprised when Prussian army is completely cracked and obliterates everyone, even the #1 GP*
39:04 1 million+ enemies as Prussia? EZ
can you play as the Byzantines/Romans in the 700s or 800s using Extended Timeline Mod for the next time?
Where the hell did France manage to afk its army save for those lousy 15k and 6k stacks in that final war? Meanwhile GB doing a classic GB.
Hear me out. Random start date, random nation, conquer some random provinces and random new world (if possible).
Is it possible that Scandinavia and Great Britain were allied before you inherited Scandinavia? That would be my guess for how they ended up on your side of the war against Austria.
Would be really cool too show off some Asian or African nations in later starts
For the next random start date, let’s go Zoroastrian Persia!
Is that even possible in random start date?
Bro spawned in all of that hair
you commentate real clear!
Not contesting Austria was a huge letdown, might have been a stupid idea, but go big or go home XD!!!
More interesting - Kurland IMHO
And another thing - why no DUCAL Prussia, instead normal Prussia?
how the hell did you grow out your hair so fast?
I go to a GTA barber shop
Start from a later date and try to reform Umayyad Caliphate with something from North Africa.
did you dye your hair? it looks cute.
Fuck yeah im here in 11 seconds
You should play as ducal prussia some time
Can you do Aq qoyunlu at its greatest etent in 6th January 1478 and try to form the seljuq empire?
I really like these
1:21 could have just clicked on the year and typed it in
Very interesting you can have the printing press and not Colonialism
i stg you just suddenly grew a shit ton of hair am i crazy
The Ottomans collapsing because of people being annoyed they were too strong :(
You forgot schleswig
PRUSSIA PRUSSIA PRUSSIA PRUSSIA PRUSSIA PRUSSIA PRUSSIA PRUSSIA
Hey Hawk, maybe you could let the viewers choose the nation you play by using a method similar to A to Z and Releasables where the most liked comment chooses.
Everybody say it! RED HAWK TUAH!!!! RED HAWK TUAH!!!!
no
Random Hawk Tuah
Ostfriesland nicht in Norddeutschland?
Ich verbitte mir diese Airquotes.
yes
13:41 forgot to self-censor, eh? lmao
Time to start ChatGPTing random comments
Bro they are not "JUNKers" 😂
I´m downvoting this video, because you didn´t blast Preußens Gloria, while slaming spain and their allies with one army.
JK cool video, much love
Is your description AI generated?
Redhawk, your very outgrown hair covers the entire screen. Cut it, be bald ;)
Q errar Q bush
Spain are always clowns by 1600. Especially if you build a half decent navy. Could have easily kicked their shit in during the succession war imo.
Russia with P.
Ah yes Prussia the weakest nation.
