I might be wrong but I do believe that if you are earning 6 figures a year and you are broke then you have done something wrong. You are living beyond your means. My parents might not have taught me much about balancing a budget but I have learned that you don't spend more than you earn.

I am a tiny 5’1 potato and at my literal lowest, when I was the most malnourished and anemic, I got down to 100lb. I felt so sick and hopeless because I was giving everything in me just to not lose any more weight. (My body had almost entirely stopped digesting and accepting food and I was surviving off of ensure.) One time I was at the dr. getting weighed before my appointment. I found out I had lost even more weight since I saw my dr. last, less than a few weeks prior. The pa got excited and congratulated me. I started crying. So much of the things this woman says are not okay but that weight comment really got to me.

I have been binging anti-MLM videos lately (you, Hannah Alonzo, Kiki Chanel, Erin Bies, and others). I have never been part of an MLM, but I was part of an abusive church during college and I’m astounded at how many parallels there are between religious cults (and other cults) and MLM marketing. The love bombing, the expectation to “produce”, (in my church’s case, inviting everyone you can to church and being shamed when you have no visitors), the toxic positivity, the blame when you can’t live up to their expectation, and finally, the shunning when you leave. I do work from home as a 1099 employee; no, I don’t get benefits but I’m married to a government employee 😊 and I’m able to work pretty much when I want and how much I want. I’m a legal proofreader who tried going back to school a number of years ago and could not finish for a number of reasons. I work to pay back student loan debt. But whenever I hear about, “you can work when you want and how much you want!” I think, “I do that already and I don’t have to worry about recruiting people into the MLM! (I grew up across the bay from you; I don’t know as much about Tampa because I have never lived there; but I was a kid when the Bucs came to town, I’m familiar with the Gasparilla parade, and I know a little bit about the background of Ybor City.)
Whenever I listen to their calls I feel like I’m in church growing up (mormon). I think that’s why they’re so susceptible to mlms. The church does the same stuff. You are told you need to have the mindset of gratitude and abundance. That you have to sacrifice 10 % of your income for tithing in order to be blessed financially later on. Growing up sometimes my mom couldn’t pay the gas bill and the bishop would tell her it was because she hadn’t paid tithing. From a church worth 10 billion + $. It’s so sad. The good they could actually do with that money is one of the big reasons I left

Instead, the person who claims to have been the subject of libel or slander and has suffered injury can try to sue in civil court to stop the libel/slander and recover damages. I am a tiny 5’1 potato and at my literal lowest, when I was the most malnourished and anemic, I got down to 100lb. I felt so sick and hopeless because I was giving everything in me just to not lose any more weight. (My body had almost entirely stopped digesting and accepting food and I was surviving off of ensure.) One time I was at the dr. getting weighed before my appointment. I found out I had lost even more weight since I saw my dr. last, less than a few weeks prior. The pa got excited and congratulated me. I started crying.
So much of the things this woman says are not okay but that weight comment really got to me.
It’s horrible.. I was just really ill and going thru something like that I’m 5’6” and couldn’t eat kept getting awful stomach aches w non stop vomiting weighed like 105 never felt shittier in my life 😢 I hope ur doing better

I have been binging anti-MLM videos lately (you, Hannah Alonzo, Kiki Chanel, Erin Bies, and others). I have never been part of an MLM, but I was part of an abusive church during college and I’m astounded at how many parallels there are between religious cults (and other cults) and MLM marketing. The love bombing, the expectation to “produce”, (in my church’s case, inviting everyone you can to church and being shamed when you have no visitors), the toxic positivity, the blame when you can’t live up to their expectation, and finally, the shunning when you leave.
I do work from home as a 1099 employee; no, I don’t get benefits but I’m married to a government employee 😊 and I’m able to work pretty much when I want and how much I want. I’m a legal proofreader who tried going back to school a number of years ago and could not finish for a number of reasons. I work to pay back student loan debt. But whenever I hear about, “you can work when you want and how much you want!” I think, “I do that already and I don’t have to worry about recruiting people into the MLM!
(I grew up across the bay from you; I don’t know as much about Tampa because I have never lived there; but I was a kid when the Bucs came to town, I’m familiar with the Gasparilla parade, and I know a little bit about the background of Ybor City.)

Whenever I listen to their calls I feel like I’m in church growing up (mormon). I think that’s why they’re so susceptible to mlms. The church does the same stuff. You are told you need to have the mindset of gratitude and abundance. That you have to sacrifice 10 % of your income for tithing in order to be blessed financially later on. Growing up sometimes my mom couldn’t pay the gas bill and the bishop would tell her it was because she hadn’t paid tithing. From a church worth 10 billion + $. It’s so sad. The good they could actually do with that money is one of the big reasons I left
i am so disgusted with this mentality that the reason people aren't successful is "their mental blockages" or "their scarcity thinking." its honestly so toxic. imagaine having a normal job, and your boss tells you that you need to work on your "mindset" if you want to do better at your job. like yes, there is some truth to that statement, but its not the only reason you aren't doing "good" its so poisonous. and people who already have low self esteem or self worth hearing, and believing that, is so damaging.

Money is the root of all evil! Fits her perfectly. We make about 80k a year and live very very comfortably. I also live within my means and live in SC. Income and living comfortably is relative to your geographical location and how to choose to spend your money. 80k would be hard to live off and be comfortable in NYC for a fam of 4.

Instead, the person who claims to have been the subject of libel or slander and has suffered injury can try to sue in civil court to stop the libel/slander and recover damages. As you pointed out, she is a public figure and the standard for libel/slander with regard to public figures is quite high - the speech must be egregiously malicious and false.
