Out of the few bands/musicians we've reacted to, QUEEN fans are the most sensitive (some of you, not all) 😂. Ease up, lads. To my ears, I hear inspiration Kanye had from Queen through some of his tracks, which is why i drew the comparison. Much respect to Queen and Mr.West. Carry on
Well, you have to understand that to many people it would be like eating the best pizza ever made and suggesting that it reminds you of the boogers you ate as a child. ;) All in good fun - truth is, almost all musicians from this song forward had SOME level of Queen influence.
Queen was the Greatest Band ever. You will have heard some of their songs at Sports Games. You just didn't know it was a Queen Song. There music was totally unpredictable, it kept changing.
No correlation between Kanye West and Queen except that many, many, many, many singers/bands should thank Queen for paving the way. The reality is that Queen is in a class of its own. No one compares to them.
Brian May is a Phd in Astrophisics. Roger Taylor is a MD, he is a dentist. These are not your typical 70s "all drunk and drug" rockstars, these are really, really smart people.
The vocalist is Freddie Mercury on the piano. He wrote and composed this song it’s considered his masterpiece. The guitarist is Brian May, bass player is John Deacon, drummer is Roger Taylor. Just to clarify, the mother didn’t kill a man, he’s telling his mother he killed a man and he knows he’s going to have to pay the price for it. That’s why he says life had just begun but now I’ve gone and thrown it all way. Didn’t mean to make you cry. If I’m not back again tomorrow carry on as if nothing ever happened. Any way I think you’ve heard Queen’s music. Some their songs are We Are the Champions, We will Rock You and Another One Bites the Dust.
Actually some believe and it has been talked about by Freddie that he is singing about himself when he says....."momma I just killed a man" in reference to him coming out as gay, he is leaving his old lifestyle behind
This was the first music video. This band thrilled the world for 20 years until Freddie the kead singer died of aids. He had a wide range vocal. This band has to be seen live (on video) many of their concerts are on UA-cam. Always download froy queens official channel theu hardly ever get blocked. Ever heard 'We Will Rock You' or 'We Are The Champions'? That's Queen. Also 'Another One Bites The Dust'. Try 'Liar - Live at the Rainbow 1974', and 'Somebody To Love - Live at Montreal 1981'. Different styles/music, Queen is famous for having covered multiple genres and also for being an incredible live rock band. Loads and loads of great songs to discover.
"Bohemian Rhapsody" has almost 3 _BILLION_ streams on Spotify and has almost 2 _BILLION_ views on UA-cam. Now you have been added to the masses who LOVE this song!
Love seeing new people discover the best best band that has ever graced a stage. All 4 members are master musicians. All are college educated. Brian May, lead guitarist, is also a doctor of astrophysics, as well as having been dubbed "Sir" Dr.Brian May. He and his father constructed the red special, his first guitar, made from scraps of metal and wood when Brian was in his teens. Roger Taylor's drumming abilities are off the chart. John Deacon, the bass guitarist and electronics wizard, devised an amp system that others now try to achieve. And then....there's Freddie Mercury. 4 octave range, a killer vibrato ability, astounding stage presence, power and charisma and a God given ability to use his voice in stunning ways. There's a ton of stuff to learn about Queen, from their amazing harmonics to their vast catalogue of superior music to their very wide range of the genres you'll find in their music. Watch a few videos. Begin with the 1981 Montreal Concert when they do "Somebody to Love" and 1985 set at Live Aid. There are fascinating backstories and superior music waiting for you when you slip into the Queen rabbit hole. Enjoy the journey!!
Thank you so much! I feel everyone has a new piece of information for us to be in awe of! Did not know we would get so much support from the community 🥰 who knew an astrophysicist could a lead guitarist! Thanks for watching 😊
They were told not to release it as a single because it's nearly 6 minutes long, but It went straight to number 1 for 9 weeks. It was rereleased after Freddie died & went straight back to number 1 again for 5 weeks. Queen's most famous song, it's the UK's 3rd best selling single of all time & sold 6 million copies worldwide. It reached number 2 in the USA after it featured in Waynes World in 1992. I can't believe there are people in the world who still haven't heard this epic song! Glad you both enjoyed it.
Every baby born in the UK knows every word queen is Britain. You have to watch Green Day crowed singing this 27 years after Freddie died. Amazing. It's the UKs unofficial national anthem.
Queen had loads of hits and you would have heard some of them. Try their "Live Aid" performance or "Somebody to Love" in Montreal. I saw them in 86 at Wembley Stadium in London, "Under pressure" from that concert is great too. Keep the reactions coming!
Now watch Live Aid, a set of about 23 minutes and you will know who Queen were and that you have already heard of them and their songs! Charity concert at Wembley Stadium UK twinned with a concert in Philadelphia USA. You won't regret it in the slightest. Queen 👑 walked away victorious! They stole the show! Freddie had the audience in one hand and the microphone in the other hand!
I was in my prime in the 70's ... in my 20's yes, what a time to be around. It was fabulous we had it all and the greatest music and artists of all time ... and now there's today .. oh boy sadly what happened ?
This was massive when first released, back in 1975, I was 16 at the time. We all watched the video when it first aired on 'Top of the Pops' which was the UK's weekly tv show dedicated to all the new hits. Great reaction!!
His voice and talent makes him the best of all times. His talent is and was one of the kind. Freddy did not need any tattoos to be recognized . Just His talent.
Awesome reaction! It is so wonderful when young people discover, and appreciate the unique art of great music from the past. Queen is literally, agreed by all who know music, to be one of the best rock bands ever to exist. Your journey down the Queen path cannot be complete without Bohemian Rhapsody. In fact, your journey into great MUSIC of the past cannot be complete without Bohemian Rhapsody! Bohemian Rhapsody, was released in 1975 on the album "A Night at the Opera" which gives a hint as to the musical genre. Freddie Mercury (lead singer and pianist) was a huge fan of opera so this song was written as an operatic suite consisting of five distinct parts: an acapella intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock section, and a reflective coda. Generally it is classified as rock-and-roll, but specifically as a "rock opera" and "progressive rock." Truth is, labeling any Queen song, or Queen the band, is next to impossible! "Bohemian" describes an unconventional, artistic style with freedom and individuality as key elements. "Rhapsody" in musical composition refers to a single work comprised of episodic, diverse pieces arranged into a free-flowing structure designed to heighten emotions. This song came to be because Freddie had pieces of songs he never completed, so he put them together, each section totally different yet masterfully blended into a truly epic masterpiece. It is the band's magnum opus, and is unanimously considered one of the best songs ever written. As for the meaning of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", Freddie was purposefully vague. As with most of the greatest songs, the lyrics are written to be poetic and mysterious. Are they literal or figurative? As separate pieces initially, should the song have a singular meaning? Who knows! The meaning is open to interpretation for each listener to decide, based on how the music and lyrics touched them. You will read comments claiming the song's meaning, but the fact is, the entire band has never stating a specific meaning and has been firm that there isn't one, or if Freddie DID have a specific interpretation, he never shared it. Any assertion of the meaning pertaining to Freddie's sexuality are speculative and because certain groups WANT that to be the meaning.
Freddie wasn't saying mama killed a man. It was "Mama, I just killed a man". The Queen rabbit hole is deep, but if you jump right in, Queen fans will follow you down with the road map to some of the best music you've ever heard. There's a lot of us, so your channel will explode too. I HIGHLY recommend "Somebody To Love" and "Save Me" in their 1981 Montreal concert, and "White Queen" live at the Hammersmith Odeon in 75. It **must** be that performance. It'll break your brain. So buckle up, hands and feet inside the ride at all times!
I throughly enjoyed watching your reaction and please, please play more Queen! This is the band that influenced many of the greatest, that's why you hear a bit of Kanye West. Do you know where "Vanilla Ice" got that bass riff from? Check out " Under Pressure " by Queen and David Bowie. Queen has the ability to fill your playlist and then some. 👑💙🌈
Welcome to 70's music, the greatest time to be alive music wise. I know because I grew up during that time. Once you start listening to music from the 60's, 70's and early 80's you will understand why people say today's music sucks. You will also notice how many parts of songs rappers and hip hoppers either borrowed or stole from music from my that time. There will never be a time of great bands and music like this again. Good luck on the channel. Peace!
Early 1970's was the zenith of rock music. I am now 71 years old, and I still have ticket stubs from concerts of MAJOR bands and the price was between six and eight dollars. Remember going to an NFL stadium and taking in a quarter keg of beer with a wash tub and bags of ice, no problem. Wonderful times.
Anyone that wants to increase their channel simply needs to go through queens catalogue, they are the most worshipped band in the world, Freddie Mercury with the greatest range in music and backed up by the recently voted greatest Guitarist of all time Brian May and Taylor on drums with Deacon on Bass, Queen is the band that everyone would want to see one more time with Freddie if they could, and their 1985 Band Aid performance was voted the greatest live performance of all time.
One of my all time favorite songs. I never get tired of listening to it. Thank you. If you are looking for a mood elevating Queen song, do Don't Stop Me Now but do the studio version because the live are usually just part of the song.
As someone who was in high school in the early ‘70’s, I have to say that Queen is decidedly NOT a “hippie band.” If such things exist, maybe that would apply to bands who did folk music or blue brass. But simply the presence of long hair and 70’s-type clothing does not turn them into hippies! Anyway, thanks for doing this Queen reaction. BEST BAND EVER!
Considered by many the greatest song of all time. I'm sure you have heard parts of it before you just didn't realize it. Listen to it more and you will hear more and more of the genius that is this song.
Will you please do Queen Somebody To Love live from Montreal!? Also, ANYTHING from the Wembley Concert (Freddie was the best LIVE performer!)... but mostly, Under Pressure, Who Wants To Live Forever, Another One Bites The Dust, Now I'm Here, and Impromptu! Long Live Queen, and Long Live Freddie, the GREATEST man that has ever walked this planet!
Nearly 50 years since this song, with video recorded at a cost of about $5000 - forever changed the music industry. MTV took off as a result. Still talked about, still watched, still influencing. Four different songwriters but a sound distinctly QUEEN. Sampled by others but in a class all their own.
Suggestion: Somebody to Love Live Montreal 1981 Don't Stop Me Now - Official Video If you really want your mind blown like Bohemian Rhapsody, give The March of the Black Queen a shot ;) Queen at Live Aid 1985 - considered the greatest 20 min set in rock history.
Brian May (rock guitar genius and astrophysicist) playing a guitar he built himself with his dad, through an amplifier designed and built by John Deacon, the bass player (and electronics engineer).
I joined the band I'm in; because of the electricity, the magnetic and kinetic energy. Because I picked up the chords (so fast), my mentor joked around saying "Martin, are you a cyborg?"
This was the first video to be released to promote a song ever . The band were on tour in Japan i believe and could not promote the song or appear on any shows so they came up with the idea to make a video and it was so successful all the other bands followed suit giving rise to all the music channels of the 80s and 90s
if you want to know, queen, popular, listen to greenday hyde park london, no one was on stage, queen musical played in background, the whole crowd, sang bohemian rhapsody, from start to finish around 70 thousand, they were in tune, word for word,
You need to listen to the 1971 song "American Pie" by Don McLean. The words have real meaning to music fans. Creedence Clearwater Revival also had great hits. So many from that time that you just can't have one genre of music.
Once you get to know Freddie you will see exactly what this song is about. Queen is not just the best band of the 70's......they are the best of all time. But you need to listen to their greatest hits, for starters, then you will see the magic of Freddie, and Queen. One of the greatest preformsnces was Live Aid, and live in Montreal in '81, Somebody to Love.
This video was made for Pop of the Tops program as the band was leaving on tour. At the time it cost $4 to $5000 to produce. Great reaction. Their live performances are as great or better than the studio versions. This was a time with NO auto tune and no ear pieces so all band members watched Freddie for cues. Somebody to Love Montreal and of course LiveAid is a must. Also as stated before it is a rabbit hole that will bring in Queen fans
if you're interested in exploring more Queen, I would highly recommend you reacting to their live performance in Montreal I believe it's 1981 and the song is called somebody to love.
Remember, this is pre digital, so when it sounds like multiple voices they had to record the same line again and again and again. There are 3 singers in the band, the really high vocal in the opera section is the drummer, Roger Taylor
this is the very first time I've watched your reactions... but it made me smile to hear you clearly and carefully say at the beginning of the video that this was not your genre of music and you really you know washing your face you could really tell you you just were super hesitant. less than 2 minutes into the song, you stopped the song and said that this was going to go on your playlist 😁😁 good for you.
Freddie Mercury aspired to be an opera singer. Before he died he got a chance to sing with a famous female opera singer. No one had a voice with his range.
Haha! I could see where you're coming from. But from my standpoint, when I listen to Kanye, its obvious that he was inspired by Queen through his music. We all have different opinions. Thanks for watching! :)
@@ACoupleReactions Kanye must have been a Queen fan. He even tried to sing BoRap live once. Did not go well but he did his best to pay tribute to it. To be fair, it is hard to sing any Freddie song. His voice was as unique as it was powerful. I hope you do more Queen. A very diverse band with a boatload of hits and even more hidden gems scattered across their massive catalog.
A rhapsody is a musical composition made up of different styles of music all put together into one cohesive unit. The most famous is probably George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue".

Lol that's what I was thinking 😂
They need to listen to Kanye West trying to sing this, that was funny.
K W murdered Bohemian Rhapsody and to top it off he didn't even know the lyrics.
That’s like trying to compare Aluminum to Platinum. They don’t even need to be mentioned in the same sentence

If you really want your mind blown like Bohemian Rhapsody, give The March of the Black Queen a shot ;)
Queen at Live Aid 1985 - considered the greatest 20 min set in rock history.
Much better with headphones the sound mixing is crazy
Brian May (rock guitar genius and astrophysicist) playing a guitar he built himself with his dad, through an amplifier designed and built by John Deacon, the bass player (and electronics engineer).
I joined the band I'm in; because of the electricity, the magnetic and kinetic energy. Because I picked up the chords (so fast), my mentor joked around saying "Martin, are you a cyborg?"
I'm too old.😊❤
Queen has been around for a long time!!
Nonsense 😊 thanks for watching!
This was the first video to be released to promote a song ever . The band were on tour in Japan i believe and could not promote the song or appear on any shows so they came up with the idea to make a video and it was so successful all the other bands followed suit giving rise to all the music channels of the 80s and 90s
I’m 🇬🇧 and this is our unofficial national anthem……
I say this on every one
It's Freddy's Opera! Gotta love it! ❤️
if you want to know, queen, popular, listen to greenday hyde park london, no one was on stage, queen musical played in background, the whole crowd, sang bohemian rhapsody, from start to finish around 70 thousand, they were in tune, word for word,
You need to listen to the 1971 song "American Pie" by Don McLean. The words have real meaning to music fans. Creedence Clearwater Revival also had great hits. So many from that time that you just can't have one genre of music.
Oooo definitely looking this up! Thanks for watching and we can't wait to explore further 😊
We will be exploring more of queen in the future nodoubt! Thanks for watching:)
Kanye and Queen in the same sentence, in 20 yrs no one will remember Kanye, they will still be playing Queen,,
This video was made for Pop of the Tops program as the band was leaving on tour.
You need to see more Queen get Live aid and somebody to love live pure brilliance
To get the best you need headphones to get the side to side special effects. Classic song!
Got to be one of the best songs ever. Queen have hit after hit after hit and Freddie Mercury is a legend
Definitely learning that now 🤩 thanks for watching 😊
if you're interested in exploring more Queen, I would highly recommend you reacting to their live performance in Montreal I believe it's 1981 and the song is called somebody to love.
Remember, this is pre digital, so when it sounds like multiple voices they had to record the same line again and again and again. There are 3 singers in the band, the really high vocal in the opera section is the drummer, Roger Taylor
"We are the champions", "We will rock you", etc...Kanye West 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Watch the Live Aid performance in 1986.
look at their 1985 live aid permformance .mind blowing
The opening a Capella bit was all Freddie Mercury harmonizing with himself.
That's awesome! 🤩 thanks for watching!
You should watch their Live Aid performance. The control they had over the crowd is crazy.
I love this reaction 🤘🏼nothing more satisfying than watching someone discover something that will make the smile forever 🌀
You are teetering on the edge of a very deep and convoluted rabbit hole. Once you enter, there will be no escape.
Don’t compare Queen to kanya West he will never be in their league
this is the very first time I've watched your reactions... but it made me smile to hear you clearly and carefully say at the beginning of the video that this was not your genre of music and you really you know washing your face you could really tell you you just were super hesitant.
less than 2 minutes into the song, you stopped the song and said that this was going to go on your playlist 😁😁
good for you.
Freddie Mercury aspired to be an opera singer. Before he died he got a chance to sing with a famous female opera singer. No one had a voice with his range.
Queen are Legends
You'll recognize we will rock you
They were rock royalty. Freddie mercury was a phenomenal vocalist
Somebody to Love.
Great reaction! I’m so glad you watched this!
Thanks for watching 😊
I'm 68. I almost threw my phone when you used QUEEN and Kenya west. Not ever never ever will they be on the same page. Ever
They got ya. The headbob when it cut from opera to rock y'all did was inevitable
A rhapsody is a musical composition made up of different styles of music all put together into one cohesive unit. The most famous is probably George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue".
Queen, Queen and more Queen..DO IT!!❤
