I really do think there is still a market for themed casinos. The newer places are nice, but just so 'corporate'. Bring back the Masquerade Sky Party back at the Rio, and the Pirate battle at TI, it'll draw people in. FYI, Prince actually had a residency at Rio, I want to say 2007ish, in the club on the roof. So pissed I never went. Heard he would just get on stage and just jam with his band playing whatever he wanted.
Nice to see things getting better. I loved the Rio in its day. Rode the ride in the sky. Still have my beads. They did a great free show on the casino floor. Pool was beautiful. Spa was a favorite. Big crowds for poker. Sometimes got amazing suites. Then there was the best buffet. Really two! Thanks.
The Rio has done a lot of renovations and the suites in the Impanena tower are much improved. However, my room in December/24 had sewage smell in the bathroom. I reported the issue over the phone with front desk. I ended up talking to front desk, rewards desk and VIP office, but problem was never resolved. Work orders were put in with maintenance two separate times, but nothing was done. I got the distinct impression that staff were not interested in helping or providing the appropriate level of customer service. So as long as you don't have any issues with your room, the Rio is very pleasant, especially the pool area, slots and food court. Thanks for posting your review of the Rio hotel.
Stayed there for my Bday weekend in September. We were put into the Masquerade tower and two of the elevators were down to the top floors, so going up and down sucked. Plus, there was a ring of cell phone thieves running rampant as myself, my daughter, and about 12 random folks we talked to in the hotel and casino had their phones stolen when they put it on the machine and lost sight of it for just a few seconds. Otherwise, I did notice the differences on the Ipanema side of the property and the fact that they had most of the most popular slots available was good too. If we go back there again, we'll make sure to book the Ipanema tower and NOT leave our phones out. Oh, and we'll actually try the food court. We did eat at Voodoo Steak for my Bday dinner, and it was great service and very good meal. Plus, I won't lie, the view from the observation deck on the 51st floor was amazing!!
They have the floats and the tracks, so hopefully they bring back the Masquerade in the Sky show. Also, bring back the free shuttles and people will come and really bring life back to the place. The Rio was such a happening place and I'm so happy their putting the money into it and giving people a good affordable option close to the strip. Great job Matthew.
Just as long as they keep the parking free. Otherwise they’ll self-implode themselves on something simple as that. No one wants to pay to park for something off strip…or on strip.
My first time in Vegas there were four of us and we were only there for two nights. We couldn't decide on a show to see, so I made a list from what was in the AAA book and had everyone assign points based on their preferences. Penn & Teller edged out Siegfried & Roy. This would probably never happen today, but somehow--without spending any extra money--we ended up in the second row of the theater. It was a great show. The incident with Roy Horn and the tiger was just several weeks after we were there, so we never saw our second choice.
Wait! No minibar available! I'm liking the new casino vibe. The food court at Canteen and all the food choices look awesome. Great tour video! Keep it up Matthew!
I love the Rio. It will always have a special place in my heart, It’s the first resort and casino I brought my daughter to. It’s the first casino I’ve ever recieved a Handpay at. The vibes are just excellent there.
Stayed there a few times back in the early 2000's. I agree about the view from The Voodoo Lounge as you can see the entire Strip. Hopefully they will bring it back but nice start.
Stayed in a newly renovated room in August nice big...won a bit. Want to try VooDoo heard it was good, great views. Pools were good only 2 were open. Gotta see Chippendales! I like the Rio. Thanks for sharing
Voodoo Steak was great. Had my birthday dinner there in September. Service and food were very good and the observation deck is amazing for photos and just enjoying the Vegas skyline at night.
The main reason I tapped out at a $4 win is because I didn't like the Masquerade lot where I was parked. They had signs up to not leave anything in your vehicle and I had a folding table and chair for The Signature balcony still in my car. When I was walking out some guy started following me (you saw how slow I was walking and he got behind me at that pace). I turned around and faced him and he laughed. I kept him in front of me and slipped into the elevator after he walked passed, because I was parked on floor 1. I got to my car and shortly after he exited the elevator on floor 1. Rio has the old box cameras not the domes, so they need to update their security too! I really liked the casino and found interest in some of the eateries. Some people have said the new table in the rooms look like Flintstone steaks, but I like the ying/yang look of them.
I wouldn’t say the Rio is back. More like coming back. There’s a whole side of building that’s dead with empty shops. They need to figure out how to fix that dead space. It’s coming along but it’s still has away before it’s a total thumbs up.
Are they going to have Guy Fieri’s El Burro Borracho open 7 days a week? The last time I stayed their that was the only decent place to eat. If that is not open, I would totally pass on staying at the Rio. I also don't get why people are in love eating at Hash House a Go Go. The one time I stayed at the Rio, that place was nothing special. Over priced food, that was average at best.
Could you stay at Caesars next time. It's been a while since anyone has done a review of the property and it's has change a lot in the las t couple years
They have a long way to go. Where are the cocktail waitresses they were famous for? The old furnace/ ac in the room hasn't changed, yuck.. How about putting an indoor pool and a few hot tubs. Everything I see in your video is designed to generate revenue and none of it is really impressive like the World Buffet they had that always ranked #1 in Vegas.
The pen and teller show was my fav magic show ever. I love them. They are OGs. Me and Catalaya got to meet them after the show and take pics and get autographs 💝💝💝💝💝💝
The video where we look for the floats will be on this channel once it’s up!- youtube.com/@xaviermarxtreasurehunts?si=JjIgLEhdkZf_hrGy

That brought back some memories! The Rio used to have the Carnival World & Seafood Buffet! It was amazing for the long-gone age of Las Vegas buffets!
Glad that they are fixing it up. But I still prefer to stay on the strip.
Great video of the Rio! The rooms and the casino look much improved, def have to give it a visit in the future. Can't wait for ur next video!
Great video sir! Can't wait for more contents/collab this year!
Thank you
The renovated King Suite at Rio looks amazing! It’s great to see the upgrades bringing a fresh vibe to a classic Vegas spot.
Penn and teller show is a must see. The old school Chinese restaurant next to the food hall is A+

Ty! Great review!
I love it 20 years ago. Love the Copa Show wish it would comeback.
Bro your videos are so good!
You must spend the entire trip getting content. #alwaysimpressed

Love the colorful thumbnail!
Thanks!
Thanks for the update review on the new Rio rooms! Looks great! 💜
Surprised you didn't mention that Rio is partners with the Hyatt.
Great video! Can't wait to see if you found the floats!! :)
Nice room, looks spacious and great view. Chicken tenders did look good
You got to try them!
🐔? try the f-in 🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇🧇
Another great video, thank you Matthew ❤🎉 I'll be in LV Feb 26th
Hope you have fun!
@SayHiToMatthew I always wish you'll be there too 🎉

Hello 👋 Matthew. Thank you so much for sharing your videos ❤🎰
Thank you for always watching and commenting
😾😾😾 looks like it's gonna make a comeback. I hope it does.
It does look a lot better from when I last visited
The AI thumbnail though.
ROUGH
ugly stuff... i bet Matthew wrote something like "make the Thumbnail look like from Mr. Beast or Logan Paul". What a false-idol-world we live in...
Not AI and it worked got people talking about it 😉
@@SayHiToMatthew If thats your only Goal. Congrats.
Why do I see people tripping off thumbnails so much?
Don't like the Rio. Bad location. Bad vibes. If your going to Vegas stay on strip. Cesars or belagio..
Try the Mushroom Truffle burger at Smashburger if you haven't tried it before. So good!
Try staying WAY off strip way out at the Nevada/California state line at Buffalo Bills
Try a stay at the Durango
Wonder if they're gonna bring back the World Buffet?
Nope they got the food hall now
So, there is a casino in the Ipanema Tower and a casino in the Masquerade tower? Two casinos at one resort?
No it’s all connected just nothing on the masquerade side right now
Did you really fly into Vegas in the evening, from Toronto, and you flew home the very next day after breakfast?
Las Vegas hotel Jim Ross ATL
Nice upgrade. Haven't stayed at Rio since the renovation..ty for sharing 😊
Rio De Janeiro? More like Rio No Dinero!
Wow. They're making a lot of progress!
Stay at harras las vegas or Paris
Step 1 renovation step 2? Step 3 profit
Looking up, but not quite there yet. 4th quarter 2025 might be ok

Hash House at Rio was horrible. BTW. Weekend Carted Dim Sum was interesting. 1st time trying out Carted Dim Sum
@@igloozoo3771 I do agree hash house was not as good as the other locations

@@mikeruth2581 good Idea I will when I can 👍
Thanks
Stay at the palms, or the New Orleans
@@obetwokenobi458 great suggestion
it's just the Orleans not the New Orleans.
