OMFG YOU DID IT!! I've watched that performance at least 1,000 times and as a drummer I was always frustrated at not seeing what he was precisely playing during most of this song. That was IT lick for lick...and you got the timing fluctuations down perfectly. Outstanding man, this is a very very valuable video!! Many mysteries solved for me.
I always wanted to watch the show “The song remains the same” without the cuts to the fantasy sequences. I wish there was a version filmed in the same way as the “Celebration Day” show. By watching this surrender of Dazed and Confused I can already say that I realized a good part of that desire to see what it really was like. Even the part where Bonzo nods to Jonesy something I saw here - and I had a good laugh! it was a sensational touch. Congratulations George, this is a unique video.
Yes George, this music, every drum fill, every guitar lick, etc. is implanted in our memory from listening to this over and over and over again through the years. I can see how much of it comes without thinking
I’m not a drummer but have listened to this song a million times and always pictured in my head what it looked like to watch Bonzo play this song. This is so bad ass!!!
12:05 has got to be my favorite transition Led Zeppelin ever did live with these insanely long versions of songs. The drum beat and guitar solo together is legendary.
This is the best cover you have ever posted IMO. It may not be the best recording with just the 2 mics as you say, but DAM the play was Fantastic! You are a pro.I still watch the 2 parts from time to time. Thanks for making it easier now.
Thanks, I've just listened to this so much!! I memorized this stuff on my teens in the 80's, then forgot some bits over the years. I went back and did some homework and it came back to me.
George, I’ve been watching your channel for a while but have never commented. I just want to let you know that you are the best at doing Bonham of everyone out there and that this performance was incredible. The drum solo at the very end has always been one of my favorite Bonham moments (including the “view from the top” camera angle from TSRTS). Anyway, you nailed the whole tune. Thanks for sharing your talent with the rest of us.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!! The best I've ever scene and heard (right down to the firecracker near the end.) When this movie came out I stayed in the theater all day and watched it 3 times in a row. George, this was a huge undertaking, Congratulations my my friend, you nailed it and Bonzo would be very proud of this honorable tribute. Thanks for sharing with the drum community. Keep up the good work.
Hello, your playing is amazeing, everything you have memorized is incredible. You play with such ease.Thank you for shareing and teaching your stuff the way it should be done.Your the one i watch to learn...PEACE.
Wow!!! This repost is Really nice. With that verb sounds like you’re in the hall with LZ . Jimmy struck gold when he hooked up with Bonzo. NO ONE , not even Connie could’ve had that feel. Thanks so much George!
George, there simply are no words to express the level of appreciation that we, as proper Bonham lifers, have for your dedication and attention to detail representing where and what the magic was, that he created. There was, and will always be, only one John Henry Bonham.....and for you to breakdown exactly as what he was physically doing at such a young age, for us to see, only goes further in heightening the excitement in understanding the coolness and genius that he so clearly has and was. Thank you, big time.
I started following you this week. I knew Bonzoleum and Kick it like Bonham but with all due respect to them....you are musical treasure sir. The level of detail and explanation in your videos...superb. Like Bonzoleum said you are a GREAT MUSICIAN. As a Jimmy Pager myself playing Zepp bands for 15 years...battling with casual Zepp fans to play THIS arrangement became a life mission. Thank you for this video, it does justice to Zepp's own Bitches Brew, their voodoo magic. You are by far the best video ive seen in a LONG...LONG TIME.
Wow George!! I never heard anyone even attempt to do a cover of Dazed from TSRTS and you fucking nailed it! Definitely shows why Bonham was irreplaceable and why Zeppelin couldn’t and shouldn’t continue without him. Somehow you managed to get the elasticity of his and their playing together and always being in the right place at the right time. Plus you got his sound and stamina too!! Awesome job man! I play drums, guitar and sing as well. I am a fussy as fuck Led Zeppelin fan and never compliment any covers because none are good enough but yours most definitely is and I am way impressed!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Also i agree...the ending Samba beat with Jones doing that SICK interplay. Have told this to other people just to hear Crickets. Thank you underlining this fact that gets overlooked so much. That Ending bit is really ...a moment in rock history.
God bless you for this I lost words on how awesome you nailed each fills, everything is just perfection Thank you from my deepest heart for covering this amazing version, this video definitely gonna help people to play the song as well cause you did it perfectly and the video is very clear.
Oh my gawd that was awesome. You are fantastic. Even the little facial expressions from the movie. Sweet. I never get tired of listening to Bonzo and you gave me a rare glimpse into the power and subtle technique of my hero. Amazing.
An iconic song in the history of rock music, especially in hard rock and psychedelia, maybe funk as well. So many twists and turns, changes in tempo, tension and pressure that it really seems that we are offered here a glimpse into the "holy of holies" of the Universal Rock Workshop. I think, every self-respecting drummer should at least once in his career try to play a live version of this song properly. But you did an outstanding job, George: you nailed it perfectly! Thank you so much for this performance. ==The crossover triplet fill at 18:17 - 18:22 is the Hammer Of Bonham's God.==
Every time I watch this I'm just totally impressed!!! As a fellow drummer and loving Bonham and The Song Remains The Same movie and soundtrack, I know every part by ear. Every Oooh and Aaah from Plant, and all the different parts to their songs and you nail this Bro!!! When I talk about Bonham to fellow drummers and or just music lovers, I always tell them to watch that ending clip at the end of the song and say,"That's Pure Bonham brilliance!" And it was just awesome to see you do it So Good! And of course the whole song! Thank you!
Thank you George ! I was waiting for msg security to chase Terry down into your basement trying to catch him running circles around the kit and the sofa.
You got Balls of Steel to do this period, but on UA-cam!!! And you are knocking it out of the park!!! I'm a drummer and can play the studio version, but this version I know it in my head. You know what I mean, all the different drum parts I'm air drumming to and know ehen they are coming, etc. Fantastic drum work! The gong, turning the snare wires off on time, doing the fill right when Bonham shakes his head at JP Jones, down to yhe pause when Robert goes Do it!!!! Excellent Job Brother!!!
Holy shit George! It's your feel and the sound of those drums but most importantly, your attention to detail. Impressive doesn't begin to describe what you just did here...
Just incredible playing George and the absolute dedication to learning different versions of the song blows my mind Even the firework blast you got it perfect My total respect to you.I know Bonzo is smiling down on your from above.
George just wanted to say, big fan. big big big fan of you, i’m 15 and i’m aspiring to be just like you and bonzo, both remembering the kickass drum fills! I’m also a suburb chicagoan!
The story goes, LZ was on the last leg of a grueling tour and the MSG footage shows their fatigue. Everything is slowed down a bit, but it gives the music an ethereal feel. Especially this number. Great job keeping the groove!
One of my fav vids of yours. I was playing along with this yesterday and the technical difficulty to nail it, the way you did, is just outstanding. But I've got to say, my favourite part was when you even got the Bonham reaction with JPJ bang-on at 6min mark
I'm not a drummer but I've playing guitar since then and a huge Led fan and know all the drum parts since the '80s and you are 99.9% spot on, amazing guy, really amazing, would love to get together with you and have a big jam session and play all this stuff. I'm not as precise on covering Page's guitar parts as you are on the drums but we would still have a blast
Wow. I’m blown away. You absolutely shredded this bro. Amazing. This is arguably the greatest live performance in history in my opinion. And you absolutely nailed it. SUBSCRIBED!
Maravilloso!!! como cualquier fan de Zepp , he visto y escuchado cientos y cientos de veces, pero esto fue especial, felicitaciones!!! y gracias por brindar un momento de felicidad!!! saludos desde Argentina.
This is unbelievable George, such an incredible performance from Bonzo and you got them to sound them pretty much identical. If you ask me, you're as close as it gets to Bonham around these parts :) your understanding for his feel and sound are beyond me and I wish you the best
I mean, even the head shake at 6:03!! haha! just awesome. I always wondered what Bonzo and Jones were communicating to each other at that part on the song remains the same..... any guesses?
You've definitely dissected Bohnam better than anyone I've seen or heard thus far, Kudos man. I'm 58 and have been listening to him and know all his work inside and out but can't emulate his sound, style like you. Apart from all the great playing you give us, I especially liked the head shake at 6:03 when JPJ misfires.
George, I’m pinching myself right now to make sure I haven’t died and gone to heaven ( which is a distinct possibility because I am breathing so hard right now) this is the one Led Zeppelin song I never ever thought anyone would ever figure out what’s going on but to watch you play it note for note not to mention the ending which is legendary, well I don’t have the words in my limited vocabulary to express my feelings on this one but I think you know.
Bro oh my good God...you absolutely crushed it. I literally listen to the CD album version of this everyday on the way to work. Its stuck in my CD player lol, but what better album to be stuck? Even the head nod at 6:03 hahaha he showed the world he was human for a sec. Rip John Bohnam. If you ever come to Cleveland go to the rock and roll hall of fame and ask for Eric im in the café. I would love to shake your hand. Amazing work bro.
Bonham is my favorite of all time and I used to play the stuff very accurately also but it has been a long time and dude this is the most accurate thing I have seen on line to Bonham! There were times while driving and not being able to watch that I forgot this wasn’t Bonham. You have him down to the tee man, awesome job!
That was the coolest thing I ever saw. You are a total badass ! I'm a guitar player, lol. John Bonham will always be my favorite rock drummer, together with JPJ, my favorite bassist : the best rhythm section in rock history.

You really have it nailed. Not bad for a jazz drummer...: - )
6:04 ha! You even got the head shake and exchange with John Paul Jones. Great cover!😊 great memory for remembering all that.
Hahahaha! Very good!
I remember seeing this from TSRTS I have obsessed over the fill after the head shake for months now
I’ve always wondered what Bonzo and Jonesy were talking about that made him do that.
Love the part when security chases the guy freaking out. Hihi
The guitar is wicked during that part aswell
i know it is kinda off topic but do anybody know a good place to stream new tv shows online?
@Alejandro Gianni try FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
@Kylan Ali Yea, I have been using FlixZone for since april myself =)
@Kylan Ali Thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I appreciate it !!
Happy to hear that!! Thank you.
It's spot on...

Thank you Marcos!
I just watched again and I regret I have but one thumb to give.
That ending gives me chills. Always seemed like they sped up the tape or something in the movie. You nailed it bravo. I have goose bumps
John Bonham was 25 years old when he played this. Nasty 😷. You KILLED IT! Extremely impressive.
Thanks!
Great...!!
Amazing drummer..!!
Honestly speechless. I'll leave it at that. Just wow
Man, I never get tired of watching you....fabulous!!!
More absolute killer performance from an absolute killer jazz drummer who shares his passion for JHB with us fortunate JHB fans. THANK YOU, GEORGE ❤
Thank You!!
Yes George, this music, every drum fill, every guitar lick, etc. is implanted in our memory from listening to this over and over and over again through the years. I can see how much of it comes without thinking

The absolute best live performance ever

6:13 all time favorite Bonham fill
I think it's mine too!!
Ditto😊
Jesus Christ man! Unbelievable drumming, congratulations! Thank you.
Goosebumps man!
I had to listen to this twice. Nice recreation of art, and added your own magic to it. Bravo maestro 👏👏👏👏
WOW ! I’m throwing all of my drums , equipment and sticks into the garbage
Don't do it!!! 😁
Too late ! 😜
Hey George, PFOZ should borrow the singer kid from Greta Van Fleet for a few songs. That would be fun to see and hear !
This is the best cover you have ever posted IMO. It may not be the best recording with just the 2 mics as you say, but DAM the play was Fantastic! You are a pro.I still watch the 2 parts from time to time. Thanks for making it easier now.
You made me smile today. When you shook your head at John's mess up. Thanks man.. that was fun. Great gob remembering all that.
Thanks!
Omg George. Aside from the incredible technical and physical skill how do you remember all those fills, etc.
Thanks, I've just listened to this so much!! I memorized this stuff on my teens in the 80's, then forgot some bits over the years. I went back and did some homework and it came back to me.
The original performance is amazing and the cover is so close ! It's so great !! I love it !
tc C He loves it.
This was amazing!! The drumming was soooo good and were tuned perfect. You inspire me to no end. Thank you George!

WOW What a feeling that must be to play along with them incredible

George, you must be possessed by Bonzo!. Unbelievable playing!
Thank you Carl
Bonzo is alive again in George!!🥁🥁🎶🎶
Thank you George ! I was waiting for msg security to chase Terry down into your basement trying to catch him running circles around the kit and the sofa.

Holy shit George! It's your feel and the sound of those drums but most importantly, your attention to detail. Impressive doesn't begin to describe what you just did here...

I can hear a touch of Max Roach in there. Bonham must have been a fan.

3:05 cool, love those drum fills that includes cymbals
Maravilloso!!! como cualquier fan de Zepp , he visto y escuchado cientos y cientos de veces, pero esto fue especial, felicitaciones!!! y gracias por brindar un momento de felicidad!!! saludos desde Argentina.
I love your videos. Your drums and playing sound incredible.
Wicked good job! Excellent timing athe very end! Very impressed
just flawless raw playing!!
This is unbelievable George, such an incredible performance from Bonzo and you got them to sound them pretty much identical. If you ask me, you're as close as it gets to Bonham around these parts :) your understanding for his feel and sound are beyond me and I wish you the best
AlexGU32 _ Alex Iv been saying the same thing for years, there is no comparison to George.
Absolutely amazing
Well, this cheered me up a lot. Fabulous.
Amazing work, Sir!
It's cool how this video is mildly shot from jpj's perspective great job buddy guy you rocked the house
I mean, even the head shake at 6:03!! haha! just awesome. I always wondered what Bonzo and Jones were communicating to each other at that part on the song remains the same..... any guesses?
Ha, I think it was just , " play a crash?" ..."nope" ....'OK"...."now! ah very nice"
Bravo George!!! Amazing cover!!! A+++++++

Now it's time for you to get famous. Just brilliant. Really. No more to add.
🙏🏼
George, I’m pinching myself right now to make sure I haven’t died and gone to heaven ( which is a distinct possibility because I am breathing so hard right now) this is the one Led Zeppelin song I never ever thought anyone would ever figure out what’s going on but to watch you play it note for note not to mention the ending which is legendary, well I don’t have the words in my limited vocabulary to express my feelings on this one but I think you know.
Thanks Lynda! You were there, several times so.... 🙏🏼
Love it! I wore the silver off my original unbotched cd. 😁
Thanks!! 👍🏻🙏🏼
As far as Im concerned your doing music archaeology. Its a service for mankind.
That's a really nice compliment, thank you very much! ❤️
No words good enough.
John Henry Bonham. The man, the master.
Awesome! & Incredibly accurate to bonzo... you can be truly proud of your playing.
Spectacular!! Great work!!
That's awesome!!! I really admire you!
Thank you so much!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Just Wow! Wow! Fantastic!
yes!
Complimenti è un piacere guardarti e ascoltarti, Bonzo da la su sicuramente ti apprezza
Great!!
That was the coolest thing I ever saw. You are a total badass ! I'm a guitar player, lol. John Bonham will always be my favorite rock drummer, together with JPJ, my favorite bassist : the best rhythm section in rock history.
I listen to this every week and you get better and your version is better than JB 👍👍👏😅
Also like your band and the other songs you play on on this channel THANK YOU!!
Up to about the 4.20 min mark the bass drum pedal was having a good day at the office!
Really stunning George! My biggest complaint about TSRTS was the stupid fantasy sequences and not a solid camera on Bonham the whole show. Now I understand where he got a lot of those complex combos out of a fairly sparse kit. I think the section after the long ride cymbal (post bow) where Plant says, "do it!" is really funky on the high hat, probably my favorite bit of that song though there are a lot of great sections. You really have it nailed. Not bad for a jazz drummer...: - )
Yes, agreed. I wish we could have a cutting room floor version of the film ! Thanks very much!
