It's very clear how, to me, Adam Carolla was chosen as the first episode. He seems to me A LOT like Glassman. Things that make sense seem so obvious that he just does them. And common sense is so rare that his actions are revolutionary in the scope of society. Glassman - define fitness, measure stuff to track progress, keep the bathroom clean then focus on training, etc. Carolla - no age reported on death reports all of a sudden = fishy, the red turn arrow during a green light is senseless, what am I good at... do that. They are both just unafraid of reality and thrive because of it. And it all seems so obvious to them, it's no big deal. Great talk, thank you.
Adam would never speak to Jimmy again if Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t who he was the fame and the money. It’s not the friendship that’s why he puts it to the side. He named drops him every day. It’s the fame. I love Adam, but this is a big hypocritical Blindspot. Nobody preaches more than him and then all of a sudden he’s like it’s really not that big of a deal. I’m not gonna mess up relationships over it. That’s all he does. That’s such bullshit.
Emily you did an amazing job on this. From the production to the discussion it was awesome. I knew you were a real fan of Adam’s when you brought up the left turn arrows😂 Looking forward to future shows.
As Adam was talking about having dinner with Kimmel and being friends with Reiner and Cranston, I was thinking just like you, Emily. But then I thought a few things. 1. What if this was a CrossFit box and I am coaching a liberal whom I disagree with on every imaginable topic? 2. Imagine how many people Glassman dealt with on a daily/weekly basis building CF - you find the areas you have common ground and you move forward with love for your fellow human. 3. If I plan to see this person for the rest of my life, keeping in mind death ends all the things I care so much about, maybe I can treat them with so much brotherly love that I wear on them and in time, they come to me or my side on their own. Versus, if I hammer this sensitive topic right now, there's no shot. 4. Think like China - play the looooong game :)
Not sure what your point about AIDS was. What were Adam and Drew saying about it? Because in the 1990's we were mostly getting misinformation about how it was an equal opportunity killer and that heterosexual man/women sex spread it just as much as gay men did. Didn't Drew perpetuate that myth until recently? The main dumb thing that I think Drew corrected was that people thought you could get it by shaking someone's hand or from a toilet seat.
First off contrarian makes it sound like we argue just to argue like we always take the other side. That’s not it. If we agree with someone we agree with them we just believe in facts. Calling it contrarian is silly. Makes it sound like we like arguing. For the sake of it. And the reason that they don’t wanna tell you how they came to their Decision is because they don’t know they were just told what to say. There’s nothing behind it. It’s like a movie set and you walk through the door and you run into the side of a mountain. There’s nothing there. It’s an empty vessel so they get defensive because they can’t tell you how they made the cookie, they idiots religious zealots. It’s X-Files they want to believe.
A great discussion ~ though I won't be pushing the boundaries with red arrows myself ~:-))) well done on the launch! The backgrounds are lovely in their humanness and textures I listened on the podcast and am here to help with the algo (I hope) Guest recommendations~ anyone from TLC (this little corner of the internet) Shared~
@53:00 The conversation benefits YOU, and not necessarily me. If you push, then you are being just aggressive under the guise of it benefitting everyone and again thereby blaming me. You don't speak for me, no matter how you think things "should" be so you can have your understanding and judgement. Your rant here feels like something unresolved in you. Your naming of qualities is dangerous, b/c the naming can be made into boxes. Your effect in the end will be tranquilization with jargon, to "sum it up" and take it home to your private zoo. And then probably in anger, bring it out as a weapon or something. It reminds me of the Great Mother who in her possessiveness and words, never let's her son leave the house, so to speak, and become a man. I'm willing to bet that her husband is birdlike. Thinking of three questions does not make you a listener, or reflective, or thoughtful. O/w, good interview. Nothing new b/c he's consistent and not excitable.
How clever @ungarlinkski7965~ modeling Devouring Mother for us. I clicked to listen to your first published interview with a well known celeb....there was none! Meanwhile thanks for the timestamp; I re-saw how to pivot a rare misstep, with class
@@psychnstatstutor Triggered you, huh? And there you go, dismissing with a box, putting someone down, showing your penchant for shaming and violence without real regard. No cleverness, here. I'm not an intellectual. But she clearly has a boundaries problem which her few friends left are letting her know. That's not "courage" or "strength" or "independence." Hey, no problem. No one's perfect. Who cares about celebs. She pushed her shoulds and ideas onto him and he didn't bite. She had s/t built up in her head, and it was off. You didn't need a timestamp to show you right and wrong, I'm sure. You're attempting an insult there, I would guess. It's not devouring to me; it's historical incompleteness. Not sure if you're a celeb, but would you like to do a live interview for UA-cam? Me and you.
The Ace Man! Fantastic choice for your first episode.

Nothing hotter than a smart woman like Emily, great interview.
I like how you tried to get an answer as to how he holds friends dear even when the don’t see eye to eye good effort

Emily is attractive and obviously intelligent, but the “Likes” and “Rights” really, really kills the mood.

I really like your content, but PLEASE work on that vocal fry!
I made the same comment lol
