@@Sugarsail1 As a musician I'd say he was insanely talented and yes he used his stage show ad flamboyant attire to wow people but the man was an entertainer by trade so I'd say he succeeded. I grew up with my pop around and even an old man like him that only played classical music was impressed at how much talent Prince possessed. Was Prince an idiot for messing with Propofol and heroin? Yes but some people do stupid things, it's a fact of life but calling him a loser is just ignorant. For what he came from and what he went through, he achieved what very few do and made a lot of people happy in the process.

I returned to the US in 1982, and one of the first things I see on MTV is that bald head singing about US forces. The political thing was not a prominent part of Midnight Oil's shows when I saw them in the late 70's. Peter Garrett was more than happy to rant on about Countdown for its commercialism, but seemed to not have a problem taking his big shiny head to this award show... Pick your poison wisely, I guess.
