Hearing Missing Persons now, I appreciate how important they were in creating the musical fabric of the eighties. They weren't trying to sound like other bands. They were something completely new and unique.
I knew the bass player looked familiar so thanks for putting your finger on it! It makes this performance even cooler, having some Knack energy in there as well!
the drummer is doing a competent job but it illustrates perfectly just how unique, dynamic and forceful Terry Bozzio was in this band and everything else he's ever done. Dale sounds great!
Just because you mentioned it in case you don't know, the original drummer Terri Bozzio is Dale the singers husband and beyond fantastic. He played with Frank Zappa and one of the best on the planet so your comment was very correct! I only mentioned that because you sounded like you may not have known, if you did forgive me, not trying to be a know it all just letting you know ✌️
Remember turning on a radio and hearing, Missing persons, The Clash, The cars, and at the same time the Who, Led Zeppelin, ACDC. What a time in music history. She still sounds great. ✌️☮️🎸🎹🎶👍❤️
This song is still a killer! Still sounds good! My taste back then was correct! This sounds better than 90 percent of today’s music! Leaves it in the dust! I still like Missing Persons! And this sounds like it was recorded today!
THIS BAND HAD SUCH A HUGE IMPACT ON THE MUSIC WORLD, MTV, THE RADIO, THE 80'S ETC. THEIR INFLUENCE WAS VERY UNDERRATED. I LOVE THEM AND ALWAYS HAVE. I REMEMBER MY FATHER WATCHING THEM ON MTV ALWAYS BECAUSE HE COULDN'T RESIST THE BEAUTY OF DALE BOZZIO LOL. SHE IS THE ULTIMATE NEW WAVE ROCK CRUSH LOL❤❤❤
No Dale Bozzio: Than no Gwen Stefani. No Terri Nunn. PERIOD........ Dale started this particular style of new wave. Even Gaga is in this mix as well. This lady has always had my respect and always will. Blatantly copied by several other artist as well, maybe not as much as the aforementioned. She's the ORIGINAL and is badass!
Good for Dale nice she still does it but really with the high quality of Missing Persons' lyrics and their rythmic rock beat she - and MP - should have been much more widely exposed and heralded as one of the best ever US bands. Some of the songs and their messages [eg Words Destination Walking in LA etc] still ring true today a testimony to their potential greatness.
every drummer or just about knows this , and thats not terry .At least they did i decent job here but i seen a couple other videos these guys butchered the hell out of the songs its so sad to watch.Thank god for processing here .
Don't forget Warren Cucurillo and Patrick O'Hearn, all Zappa alumnus. Frank didn't hire shitty musicians and when they left his band they were better than when they joined!
Still stunning. I wish Missing Persons could have gone on longer in the 1980s and on into the 1990s. Now they have (in my opinion) just three very good songs: Mental Hopscotch, Words, and Destination Unknown. Other songs are fine but don't stand out like these do. Given more time they could have created more.
Hearing Missing Persons now, I appreciate how important they were in creating the musical fabric of the eighties. They weren't trying to sound like other bands. They were something completely new and unique.
God, this takes me back to the early 80’s and my lost youth. What a time to be alive.
Yeah, some time to be alive. Egads.
No doubt!
she still sounds really good
Bass, lead, keys, drums and vocals everyone of you are excellent musicians.
Compared to the Original lineup, these clowns are mediocre suckoffs....
I saw Missing Persons play the Whisky back in 1981. They were great. Her outfit unbelievable.
Prescott Niles of The Knack on Bass, bringing some authenticity to the sound. Love his playing. He gave me a brief bass lesson once upon a time.
I knew the bass player looked familiar so thanks for putting your finger on it!
It makes this performance even cooler, having some Knack energy in there as well!
And that's awesome about getting a bass lesson from Prescott Niles!
GREAT pickup. Prescott! Wonderful to see he is playing and playing so amazingly. His trademark playing comes in at 1:27
@@markofish6176He is laying it down. He’s switching from pick to finger style in the same song. You don’t see that often in rock.
Dale looks fabulous and still sounds great
She sounds incredible, I could not believe it, she may look a bit different, but she is knocking it out of the park!
They still sound amazing!✌😎👍always love this band!
NOT 'Missing Persons'.....it's the Dale Bozzio Band. Unfortunately, the musicians who made up the original MP are long gone, They're MISSING
Spent 7 years on the Nashua New York music circuit hearing cover bands covering this song, love it
Always loved the chorus in this song. Brings back memories of a simpler time in life.
wow she sounds great!
Saw them at great adventure in New Jersey in August 1984, I just turned 18. I think this was the first live band I ever saw long time ago.
the drummer is doing a competent job but it illustrates perfectly just how unique, dynamic and forceful Terry Bozzio was in this band and everything else he's ever done. Dale sounds great!
That's the first thing I noticed. Wow
Terry just had that unique skill..... No-one will understand.....
@@rickypena7634 Zappa understood.
Yes/ glad Dale is keeping it alive but its almost impossible to replicate what the original band had/ they were truly "not of this Earth" !!!###
Yes Terry added a unique personality to the drums! But good job by this drummer!
What a great band. Their original drummer was one of the best ever! ( I literally became a fan just the other day! )

@@aschule5684 Very cool! Thanks for sharing
@@bubblybubbles9052 Wow I didn't think you'd see my comment that quickly LoL 😂 their original guitar player actually played with Frank Zappa also...
@@aschule5684 And the bassist (Patrick O'Hearn).
@@Magnum_Opus_1124 that I did not know.......
it sure brings a lot of beautiful 80's memories!

Damn I’m 49 and loved this song when it came out early 80’s , greetings from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺

This actually sounds very good !
i love you so much!!!
Absolute awesome performance
Terry had his drums tuned to not over take the singers voice. He also used his phrasing in such away it never got in the way of the vocals.
Terry is the greatest drummer alive…
Alot of folks don't know that the Bozzio's started off with Frank Zappa...specially Terry..

She still sounds good, it's disappointing that it's not Missing Persons, they got like four persons missing!
That's pretty funny 🤭 their name is actually more revelant now as you said "there's definitely Missing Persons" 😂😂😂
FANTASTIC!!!!
A great summary of metro Boston musicians Dale represents was on that circuit in the 80s
She's still got it!
the bass player reminds me Prescott Niles from the Knack, playing with a thumb pick.
it's Prescott Niles .
Cant wait to see them Dec2 from my private bench!
Wish a Whiskey a Go Go would be built in Central Florida since Florida is growing so rapidly
Wow love it! Sounds great!
Dale Bozzio she'sstill awesome!

Pop music is always better live. The bass comes out and it all moves to more of a rock sound.
