Great video again Russ. I did this walk only last week, but approached from 6 miles or so to the south. Quite steep at times, but then again most things are for an old fart...😂. I live within an hour of these lakes and this place is my favourite anywhere in the world. People used to leave tins of soup, beans etc on the ledge up above the fire in the hut, for those who were stuck, not sure if the practice is followed now, there was nothing there last week at least. I've been up there in the snow and it's wild...! The wind last week was probably 40 knots - made things interesting along the ridges. keep up the great work...😉
Ahh haha thanks Josh. Much more where that came from. My new website will launch in the coming days, stocked with goodies, gear reviews and stories from the trail. I also have a new bit of hiking gear coming out at the same time so stay tuned!

Fair play mate! Went there the other day for a hike and the weather was unbelievable. Sunshine followed by snow storms! Shows that the weather can change so quickly and people need to be prepared when they go up there

Them Camarthen fans are amazing - I love them Russ. Paul and I camped on the other side some years ago (valley towards Crag Y Nos) but we never did return. This video has inspired me to do just that and do what were going to all that time ago. Great video and time out. Mark
Illegal or not, after 8pm you're not going to get anyone up here. if the weather gets too bad (& it can...😂) just sleep in the old pump house you can see in the video. There's 2 long benches in there that beats sleeping on the floor, plus there's a fireplace and chimney - assuming you've got something to burn of course. just do it...😉

Wild camping isn't really legal anywhere in Wales without the landowner's permission. But use common sense and leave no trace and it isn't a problem in our experience. Don't light a fire, setup your tent at dusk away from the trail and you should be fine. We just came back from the area yesterday and pitched at Llyn y Fan Fach. No-one else there, magic.
