hi! just wanted to let you know that plants being invasive isn't something people "think", it's an actual ecological issue:) as you live in the city, i don't see too many issues with having it though - its dangers are in outcompeting native species, but where you would have it there wouldn't be anything else living otherwise (it could spread seeds with the wind though, which could colonize other areas, so avoiding it would still be best but zero pressure). my other recommendation is to have some colourful flowers during the summer on the rooftop, like a wildflower seed mix in a couple of pots or something similar:) it's really good for insects! I really hope I don't seem rude, I just work in urban ecology so I get very excited about this kind of stuff.

my fav matcha is the jade leaf organic ceremonial grade! it’s pretty affordable, a beautiful bright green color, and tastes really nice on its own or in a latte. making matcha at home is def the way to go
besttt matcha I've ever had to the point I said that out loud after I had 1 sip is kettl matcha - they have two locations in NYC one in brooklyn and one in manhattan for you to try their drinks first. I found them through a pop up at the lichen home goods store and haven't looked back since. I get the hukuju matcha blend and its so good for iced matcha - it has a nice creamy and nutty flavour. They also sell all the instruments you'd need to make matcha at home :)
amoda matcha organic ceremonial grade matcha is my favourite :) i would also recommend hoya for your rooftop, pretty easy to care for, lots of different varieties, amazing blooms. just make sure you set them up in a way that allows you to bring them inside during the colder winter months.
I had a similar experience, after many years being fully vegan, reincorporating eggs and ocasional fish/ chicken has made such a difference health-wise (especially my hormones, energy levels, skin, muscle tone). It makes me really sad actually that this has been the case. It feels like I was lying to myself as a vegan and despite being a great cook and doing all the things you're supposed to (beans, nuts, etc) my body just was not in balance. I hope they figure out how to grow meat in labs so we can stop killing animals for mass consumption.
Please try Ippodo matcha! They have a cafe in NYC- they have multiple matcha blends to choose from. The matcha is from Japan and they've been making it for 300 years. The other brands commented are American based brands and they truly don't compare to Ippodo!
