Slytherins have power(-hungry) as one of their traits as it is common for slytherins to value that trait over others, along with ambition and cunning. So slytherins may not be powerful all the time, but they still value it/ treasure it. Hufflepuffs dont have it as a main trait, cuz puffs usually value traits like loyalty and kindness. So, they may be powerful, but it's not something they treasure as much... As a hufflepuff myself, I can certainly relate to this. :)

Ravenclaw. MY uncle tease because the "only Hufflepuff shown died automatically therefore Hufflepuff is irrelivent(?)". My big brother says "i'm Gryffindor, not Slytherin, and in no way would you ever be Hufflepuff"(which hurt, because i knew he meant it in a rude way.) My little brother always agrees with him and is mean about it, my dad never says anything (He's a slytherin, i know for sure), but he's never rude to me, and actually loves hearing my talk about the houses, and has agreed once or twice when we've discussed it that I'm definatly(?)(i can't spell rn sorry lol) Hufflepuff, and Mom if for sure Ravenclaw, He agrees he's Slytherin, My uncle as well, and my lil bro is Gryf, not sure about my brother he's either Gryf or Slytherin. But I always appreciate discussing the topic with my dad because he listens with interest and he debates(friendly, at that)with me over it and we have nice, fun talks about it. So, for an example, I was playing Minecraft on a server (yes I am in fact a nerd), and one of my friends was hanging out with a stranger, when the friend's little brother took over his device and tried to attack the other guy. The other guy killed him, and stole his stuff, and even after the friend explained what had happened the guy refused to give him his things back. And he had really good stuff too. I then went and tracked down this other guy, and tried to kill him. Some things to note: -I say he was a friend, but I didn't know him IRL. I just grew kind of attached to him after a little time playing together. -I did not succeed in killing him, because I'm royally bad at PvP. -I went to extraordinary lengths to avenge a friend from a relatively minor injustice dealt upon them.
I think "unafraid of toil" doesn't mean that we just love working so much, it means that hard work, and someone getting to high places through hard work and toil, is something that is very admirable for us. Also, we are more tolerant of work than other houses.
