That is a perfect spot! Good job!
Thank you for doing this video. Made it very easy for a novice like me to accomplish this.
Thank you for the video!! You gave me the motivation to purchase these lights for the rear bumper. Did not know the ignites would fit _like a glove_ in the plastic pieces in the bumper like that. I am however going to wire them to my sPOD so I can use them even when not in reverse. Just flip the switch when I need extra light to backup or when I need extra light on the trail. Thanks again!
Yeah I am debating putting in a relay and switch them as well lol I recently ran out of room on my spod lol
How did you run the wires to your s-pod?
Gustavo Miron First I made the wires coming from the passenger side light longer, ran them behind the bumper long enough to reach the other light with some room to spare. Then I connected the driver and passenger light and installed a waterproof connector. I made this so that if I ever needed to remove the bumper for any reason it would be easy. I ran a two conductor wire (red and black) from the sPod through the firewall in the same fashion the sPod wire is fed and removed the plastic trim and ran it straight back to the driver side tail light under the carpet. When you get back there, there is a rubber grommet you can drill and fish the wire down into behind the driver side tail light. You can then make your connection with the other side of the connector wherever you like, I have mine just below the foam piece under the driver side tail light. Hope that makes sense.
Very nice video!
Thanks for sharing :)
no problem man!
Cool video! Thanks for posting.
Ram 1500 thanks man

That's pretty bad ass. Great light and easy install. I have to find a place to mount them on my Tacoma.
Maybe the bumper? 🤔
Awesome bro trying to figure out which wire was reverse light wire thanks again
Good Ol' Jersey!
yep yep!
Very good video. Thanks making and posting it. Love the lights!
What back up camera area you using and would you recommend it?
Thanks Hugh! I am using the Brand Motion rearview cam, there are other options out now which are cheaper however when I got it no one else offered a plug and play unit for the stock navigation in the jeep, I love it and since I am changing my tire carrier very soon and am running 35s my rear view window will be lost anyway and I consider it a must have! Click the subscribe button you will catch my upcoming videos! Thank you!
amzn.to/2hHNx6k There is a link to the setup I am using its great
Which one of the 2 is not blinding other driver flood or diffused
Thanks! I am buying a pair
What was your wiring diagram for the red power I just got the surface mount ignites .. thanjs
I just got the same fox shocks but have not installed them due to having to wait on my new springs , how are they holding up
Great video brother and I hate my reverse LED lights from JL SPEAKER and I will be getting these and doing the same spot but I`m going to have my brother make some custom inserts for me or maybe I`ll make something myself and shape it to fit that space and spray it bed liner to match it up you gave me a motivation. You know these bumpers are not friendly if you wanna drill/cut into them:-(
208miuwu exactly the plastic insert is like 50 from the dealer so if you screw up it’s not too horrible
So black connect with black, red with grey&white, is it correct?
T-tap Jones. 😂. Still liking the ignites?
I like what you did, and I'm considering the same mod for my 2016 JKU 75A. One concern though, the location you chose appears to be right in the spray of the rear tires. I'm wondering if you considered the lights getting water/sand/stone/mud blasted when offroading...? Any thoughts after your time with the location you chose? Thanks, great video!
hey steve sorry just saw this! I have the maximus-3 covers on the back of my bumper the wiring for the lights is up in the 1/4 panel so I am not worried they have been in since this video and zero issues
Sounds good, I think I'll go the same route with the Maximus end caps once I get my flat fenders... Thanks for the great vids, keep'em coming
Thanks for the video! Have a set of these that I am installing too. Just wondering why you choose installing the lights in the plastic side pieces rather than centered on the metal?
thanks
@ratled1 Great questions, so the plastic side pieces are easy to get to without the need to remove the bumper plus if I didnt like the location it was a $50 fix from the dealer, to put them in the center of the bumper it needed to be removed, also I have led tail lights and a rearview camera so the light dead center was plenty, I have my front windows tinted and needed to throw light outwards more so when parking I can see better as well.
THANKS!
Hey TM, did you try to remove the plastic bumper inserts to ease installation of the lights? The inserts may just pop out of the bumper I think? They appear to be held in place by some plastic tags..
Steve Digital I saw that but saw on a forum someone wanted to remove them for a different project and broke the tab it didn’t bother me to do it in place
Did you have to use and fuse or reply? Or did you just wire then directly into the jeep wires?
direct to the reverse wires, the draw is very minimal plus they are never on for that long of a time, I had zero issues with it
@@TMogo116 awesome. Thank you so much for the help. I just got a new bumber with lights on it, been trying to figure out how to wire it. You just made everything so easy. Thank you
Tuke Ikachana no problem man! If I could go back and when I helped a friend do his the one thing I would change instead of running to each tail, connect the new lights together and only tap into one tail light. When your done if your on Instagram tag me @tmogo116 and #tmogo116 I’d love to see your setup 👍🏻
Question for you Tony. I'm doing this install this weekend. What size hole saw did you use? The box says 1.75", but the hole you drilled looked smaller. Would you happen to remember? Thanks.
I dont remember off hand I thought I did 1.75 like the box said Ill try and find it tonight
Thanks man. Appreciate it.
Now looking at the video a bit better, it looks like you did use a 1.75" hole saw.
yea I am pretty sure I did as the box suggested.
Too bad you didn't show the actual wiring of the lights. I'm sure that is the most difficult part of the install for most aspiring DIYers.
Oh I thought I showed which color it was in my 2015 I found out online most every year the color changes for which wire you need to tap into I didnt want to have someone miss wire but I did mention what color it was in my jeep
Is it legal to have leds connected to reverse lights?
sure why not?
@@TMogo116 some people say it is , some people say it isnt..
Overworld Newsfeed I bet 90% of the time you’re on private property when using reverse lights. Other times, I highly doubt a cop is going to be upset that you’re making sure you’re more visible when backing up.
Diffused are better for backup??
yes I believe so, it throws more light widespread vs a beam.
Ok, thanks! I think I would go this way instead of some big lights on my Toyota Fortuner for backup..but in white since the car is white pearl
A Wrangler and a renegade and a blue line flag. Scary...
RainbowSixThree Enlightened lol why?! The renegade is the wife’s daily it’s been a year with the renegade and I gotta say... I’m glad it’s a lease lol
