I am from trivandrum this port was on making from 100 years from planning by then diwan sir cp ...it was put back burner by all govts and was seen a threat by Colombo and Dubai..Singapore ......no far sightnes by govt ...now it has opened a new dawn by all patriots ....

Aadi, this is truly a major milestone in India s maritime space as well as national security… our opposition does not even understand how strategic Adani s company is to India’s geopolitical might. They use it for cheap political mileage and are ready to hurt the economy of India to gain selfish goals.

To FastTrack the clearing and forwarding, it is imperative to get the connectivity of the extention of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor from JNPT in Maharashtra to the Port of Vizhinjam in Kerala along with the Doubling of the Konkan Railways tracks from Rasayani to Mangalore.

Vizhinjam I understand can add great boost to the cost effectiveness of our supply chain. But the one coming up in Nicobar Islands , they could have tried making it in mainland India instead of building it on that island. Might have been more useful IMO. Great news nevertheless!

Vizhigam port will be a game disruptor for many established powers. Not only China, but major transhipment ports such as Colombo, Singapore etc would also get competition - provided we build up those facilities and ecosystem there - Kerala can be a tough nut to crack. Let us hope they realise that their ways would keep them where they are.

I request the Central Govt to build DFC should be made to connect the port to industrial areas of TN and KA.
It will also improve the infrastructure of Kerala. Our state govt doesn't know how to build good infrastructure costs effectively.
Already doing it by building ports & dedicated freight corridor...

Dedicated freight corridor not actually not established via South India may be in future it will come through here.same like there is one outer ring road announced before but now it's process stopped due to some land acquisition problem arrives between Kerala and central government.may be it will also come in future.

It's Utterly wrong. Vizhinjam Port is in Thiruvananthapuram, 200 km south of Cochin.
The other Port near Cochin is Vallarpadam which is not much deep.
