Everything you didn't like about the gel made me want to buy it lol! My hair loves humidity and glycerin, similar curl shape but my hair's dense, coarse and low porosity, I literally refresh my hair with glycerin water & my steamer. It's always interesting how different hair can be, what makes some finer / higher porosity hair frizzy tends to make my hair more defined yet when I don't use humectants and lots of humidity my hair gets wiry and poofy. Time for me to stock up!!

This is so true!! hair also loves humidity and glycerin. I have medium density, love porosity, and fine to medium strands. I didn’t know this until like two years ago and my wash and go’s are bomb every time when i use stylers rich in Glycerin and other humectants. Our hair is amazing!! 😍
@@maddy3562 Were in the same boat! Humectants GIVE me definition and softness. Ironically strengtheners and repairing ingredients often make my hair dry, undefined and unmanageable. It took me a while because brands seem to be very silent about humectants and loud about strength, so I spent so much of my life thinking "stronger is better" just to end up with dry undefined hair that would tangle!

Nice 😊 I used it today and I applied a texture spray to provide more hold and my results were better with the gel alone. It has glycerine and if you use products WITH glycerine, you need it a topper gel or a hairspray or mousse to get better results.

Same results here. I’m on the 2nd attempt wash n go, this time with no leave in. Day 2 was beautiful, day 3 is like day 7. I refreshed w/mane choice gelato to get though the work week. I like the custard, but this applies thicker and promises hold, but gives similar short term results.
Yes I agree with it giving similar results as the custard.
Sometimes I think some of my sisters are looking for the perfect product or products It's just not possible I love this stuff It works for my hair perfectly My hair is back to the length of this avatar and I'm not having any trouble with it. I know the hold isn't the greatest but I just get up in the morning spritz it and go. Maybe add a little cream mixed with the gel for the ends and that's it
I don’t think that we expect it to be perfect, but if it says “maximum hold” then we would expect to last longer. If it would have said “soft hold”, then I wouldn’t expect for it to last that long and the results I got would have been on point with the claims. I loved my results just wish I could have gotten a better and longer hold. I’m glad that it works well for you🥰💕
Finally! I’ve been waiting on reviews for this product. Is it better in your opinion than cool sculpting custard or should I just stick with the custard I’ve been using?
I personally think that it is pretty similar to the custard. But everyone’s hair is different so you may want to see for yourself. However, for some reason, it is not on their website anymore. I’m not sure why though or if it is coming back.
I'm trying it now as I watch your video, and I liked your end results. I'm salt and pepper, and I find my gray hair to be very stubborn. 😊 I can't wait to see my results

I felt this way about the mango tulsi gel. I might return it to ulta if it's not too late. if it is I will save it for the winter.
Yes agreed! That is my plan to use it too. Just wished it worked in the summer since it was released in the summer.
That deep conditioner is a STAPLE. My hair loves this stuff and no matter what I do to it after, it acts right! I've been eyeing the gel but it was sold out.
Yes it is an oldie but goodie. Hopefully the gel will be available again soon.

I was looking for reviews on this gel last week because I was planning on using it in my hair wash day this weekend. I did the mix test on my hand with the leave in and gel but it didn't mix smoothly...didn't curdle/clump...but wasn't a smooth mix like I usually look for so I was scared to use it together. I ended up using it alone and got good results. Wasn't a hard hold so definitely not maximum hold to me. My hair was dull too. My hair had good definition though...wasn't dry using it alone.
That’s good to know that using the gel alone won’t dry your hair out. I will try it alone and see how it goes for me.

I find it crazy when people don’t like glycerine because as a low porosity person humectants define and keep my hair moisturized and doesn’t allow it to fluff out.
I’m glad that products with that ingredient work well for your hair💕, but others may not like the way that it performs for their hair…it’s all about preference. With the humidity high in the summer, it can allow the hair to be puffy at an earlier stage of the hairstyle such as a wash and go.
Wish mielle didnt add so much glycerin to their products. Or made a glycerin free line.
Yes I agree. Especially since it was released in the summer when the humidity is higher.
I lowkey like it cause I don’t sleep with anything on my head and when I wake up my hair looks crazy 🤣, but a steamer shower gets it to drop. It’s getting harder and harder to find glycerin freestylers now.
Glycerin is good for your hair though

I haven’t used the honey and ginger styling gel in years, but to me it seems that it is about the same.
I love Mielle organic products because they work a lot on hair 4c too bad I can't buy them
Yes they are pretty good products.
How do I know whether or not my hair is a fan of glycerin?

Also, it allows a lot of moisture to get into your hair making it look poofy and frizzy. If you like that, then I would say your loves it. If not, then your hair is not a fan of glycerin.

I love the shampoo & conditioner from that line; favorite line also. I love the leave in, however not a fan of the custard. So if the gel is like that, I’ll pass on it.
I actually love the custard, but just wished the gel had a stronger hold.
The custard took some time for me to get used too bc it didn't way my curls down so much like eco. But what I love more about the custard than eco styler is that I expiernce way more movement. Like I can literally shake my head and see my curls move. With Eoc styler my hair is usually very defined and lasts a long time but my curls are way more stiff and shrunken up. I guess it depends on what your hair preference is. The custard is really bomb tho. I love how more elongated, soft, and defined my curls are. Something that I'm struggling to get used to about the custard is how watery it is when you apply it to your hair. When I first apply it, it doesn't feel like my curls are gonna be as defined as I like them to be but by the time my hair is done drying my curls are perfectly defined just how I like them
@@ZBForever yes the custard is good. I haven’t used it in a while. I might revisit it soon.
@@ZBForever I actually revisited twice. One time my hair was really soft and my curls were popping, then the other time my results were sticky and not as soft. I guess I have to figure it out.
