This is an example of a bike which is much more than just the 0 to 100 time or weight, and you will either love it or hate it. And if you love it, nothing else in this segment will do.
gr8 review.m frm Nepal.I hv got the same colour 302r.its definitely a sports tourer.its luxurious n has less vibrations thn rc390.rc390 is a track focused bike.it has its own legacy.Jst done 2800+kms.riding solo I easily reached 149kmph in short distance,which I didn't expected due to its super heavy weight.it still wants to make u rev more, even in 149kmph.very stable bike.though brakes aren't tht gud.overall its comfortable and economic sportsbike.30Km+ per litre fuel economy.nice midrange and high range pickup.smooth ride.last week I reached 142kmph wit ease in double load.cudnt twist more due to traffic.till nw totally satisfied
Sashank Lohani i think the problem about the brake is the fluid pipe pump, try to change it with aftermarket and see how it's changed..
@@harmainsakagea front fluid pump hd to been replaced and they did so. But tht same kinda stock one.
Benelli had a nice sound even with standard exhaust...
Okay, first of all, Sarge kills it when it comes to reviews!! And unlike most indian reviewers, Powerdrift has a way of telling people the pros and cons of the bikes/cars without sounding biased and that is one hell of a feat! I liked how the Benelli looks and sounds, but I think what it lacks basically is the reputation R3 and Ninja carry with them.. I don't know whether I should depend on Benelli when I can easily afford a Kawi or a Yamaha without much effort.
I can say that, its perfectly made for India. Comes with Abs as standard. And we all tourers want our bike comfortable rather than out right performance. R3/Ninja missed abs and the tyres and Adjustable levers too. Which Benelli gives at a pretty decent price. Instrument panel has always been a sore piont in Benelli.
Request - Do a 2-3 day shootout between R3/Ninja300/tornado302. Make a review which is practical and helps the tourers to decide which one to go. Also mention Service intervals/spares cost and FE.
As always PD rocks.
RIDERS GOT TALENT true. But as a twin cylinder lover. And for the awesome sound! CBR no doubt is still the best tourer. Only if Honda introduces the international version in India.

Thank you for Your Honest Review. Not Every One Does That. Under 4.5 Lakhs, Nothing can beat the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and the Rc 390.
This man is doing wrong comparison. 302r is not a track machine , it's a sports tourer . So it's pointless to compare it with R3 or ninja.
And as a entry level sports tourer it's the best one.
Dude Ninja & R3 are also sports tourer only the rc 390 is a track machine...ninja and r3 have relaxed seating posture not too much engaging...🤘
3 things dat annoy me are ;
1. The weight - It affects initial acceleration & pickup. Not so good for city when riding & taking out of parking lot.
2. Service Network - For a bike dis pricey , the manufacturer must also have good service network & spare part availability which dis one misses .
3. Too Costly service .
Love the quality of the review more than the bike.

I am from Nepal and I own the same silver green 302r 2018.Its a fantastic bike.i hd done 170 kmph with ease.No other bikes in it's segment gives you the feel of bigger superbike.gearbox is too lik a bigger superbike.it pulls even in 6th gear from the speed ok 30kmph.when you twist the throttle it sounds breathtaking.heating is managed verywell.solid build quality.smooth and stable in high speeds.gud mid-range pickup. yes it is unnecessarily heavy.almost 200kgs,though it performs verywell.Yo get the most luxurious feel in 302r.it isn't fully track oriented machine.its a lil superbike sports tourer.Its the most head turner bike in it's class
@G Joeye I purchased in 7.5 lakhs. Last year price hiked and now it costs around 9.45 lakh

Hi sagar... nice for a first impression. But like to know some points better
1.like engine refinement compared to the Japanese competition.
2. The suspension setup based on city riding conditions
3. In case of ABS BEEN switched off .What's the stability of bike braking at some where around 60kmph plus.
4. As mentioned juice comes after 7000rpm, what's the vibration compared to others till reaching max rev rpm.
5. In case of pillion riding comfort and riders comfort with a pillion during the touring or long rides.
6. At last is it really a bang for the buck since the other Japanese competition seems to be almost close in the pricing except point of ABS.Also say about after sales credibility.
I have an R3 but If it isn't for the weight I would gone for this bike, in Indian city riding a 200 kg bike is not practical

R3 is definitely a stunner in the 300cc segment, no way its near it. Do talk about the comparison of power delivery and ex showroom prices of all 300+ cc bikes.

Not bad at all. I think for casual highway rides, I will pick this over the others. It has got the Safety, Comfort, looks, perfect. I no racer, just love F1 on TV :)

I think this is a bloody good option for those who want to tour the country luxuriously. I absolutely love the silver-green paint scheme. Please include the comfort that this bike offers and how will it perform on the 1000miles journeys. Is it that player of the quater-litre segment, which the gixxer sf is in the 150cc segment?

among ben 302r, r3, ninja 3 and rc 390... hands down to the sound of benelli motor..gives the feeling of that engine growls which is simply music to the ears. but... yes there is a but...unfortunately it doesn't perform as good as the other three.. Infact apart from sound there is nothing much I would like to invest on.. personal choice is r3 followed by Ninja 300 any day given these 4 choices...

on second thoughts, why not 302r over the R3? not everyday is a track day, is it? how about a lazy ride on the twisties, in the perfectly blended company of monsoons and a brilliant inline twin note?! not bad, eh!
R3 is also more on sports tourer than the sports bike ...it definitely gives good feedback compared to 302R except the sound . Sound is best in benelli
I'm buying this bike end of december.. This bike is best.. Sound engine waooo..
They should have kept it in range of 2.7 to 3 lakh for figures of engine outputs and considering hard competition and also service availability .... R3 is the best choice at this moment

Benelli is a passing phase, true love is KTM RC :)
I Rode it on the very first day, Pros are Good looking, sound, big bike feel, ABS, colors, riding position, Metzeler tires, 5 year EMI from Yes bank etc etc. Cons are doesn't feel like spending 4.5l on road on this, certain parts are badly machined, welded.., choking feel at 5k rpm, slower than competition, 4k kms service and benelli quality issues. If R3 comes with ABS, inverted forks etc as speculated, its game over for 302R
what if we tune it will it be as fast as the r3 the sound of this on the hill road will be
a good rider will make a bike fast

Yosef Nowgaonkar it is mandatory by indian government.. even if you go for a litre class sportbike, it comes with a saree guard

Clinical and Crisp review of the Tornado 302R - An Essential must watch for new bees trying to get a hand on quarter litre sports bike segment.
I was personally waiting for R3 2017 hopefully with ABS but the future looked dark and unknown for it hence picked up the 2017 Duke 390 as i was coming from a Naked 200 NS and I am loving the highway runs on it.
Ideally R3 and N300 should have atleast launched with optional ABS variant for the price they command..else it make more sense to be little more patient save little more and step into the middle weight segment
At one end u have the KTM twins offering excellent VFM and on the other end there are the twin cylinder full faired bikes which do not justify the buying and running cost
I infact did a detailed analysis of running cost for all bike from NS 200 to Z800 and the locally assembled KTM's made most sense..it was a no brainer
This is the Pulsar RS200 of it's segment.The power kicks in late,Heaviest in the segment, Versatile sports tourer,ABS and the sound.But,it doesn't do justice with the price for that matter.It could've been 50-60k less.

This is the most smoothest bike in this segment, absolutely zero vibes and engine refinement is out of this world, much better nvh level than ninja 300 and R3.
I had to comment on this one because i am in love with this one just because of the way it looks. Definitely it's not an outright performer like rc or a perfect balance like the r3, or maybe even not trendsetting like the ninja. But this is the "Perfect" amalgamation of an "old looks meets new" ideology. I mean how beautiful does it look! I seriously can't get my eyes off of it. My only problem with the look would be in some shots the faring seems to be a bit disconnected between the handles and the mask. Leaving a bit of space. It just looks bad for a bike this good looking. But this is just nitpicking and moreover, just my opinion.
And when Sergeant asks for a like. You better love it, because this one is worth it! In love with powerdrift for all this awesomeness!

Not much.3litr synthetic engine oil each costing around INR Rs.450,oil filter Rs.500,after free servicing Rs.500 servicing charge.
Shorter Sprocket you will have to rev the bike a lot and change gears frequently to lower in city limits or at slow speeds .. also the torque will reduce .. bike looks good though ..

KTMs don't age that good, trust me, I have 2013 KTM duke 200, and its a pain in the A$$ to service it.
Also, DSK is improving their service center network, in couple of years,
you will be satisfied your decision buying Benelli or R3 than RC or any KTM.
About Ninja, that bike is old and the new version is long way to go.
KTMs don't age good because they are not treated properly by us Indian owners because they are cheap and quick to maintain. As for DSK, Hyosung GT 650R has a alternator problem that hasn't been fixed till date. And Benelli TNT 600i has a Crank Shaft breaking issue. Coming to cost and safety, for a touring bike in that price range, I'd rather get a Duke 390 for 2.6 lakhs and ride it for 2-3 yrs and then sell it to get something else which certainly can't be said for a Benelli that will cost you about 3.7-4 lakhs on road. And laying it down at tours is a whole new issue at your hand, considering the parts need to be imported the time taken to fix them will be long and costing is out of the question.

PD is it possible for you to make a video on cornering? I want to do it without breaking a limb. So a video on that would be nice. Perhaps, you can show us how to tackle Hill climbs and slow speed descent as well. I hope that makes sense.

One cannot simply chose Benelli 302 r over Rc390 ,R3 and Ninja 300 as it misses slipper clutch and still unclear whether having option for metzers or pirelli tyres Which is it's TNT 300 offers !!! But yes what's add to good point is it's abs ,sound , price and versitil nature of bike of such fairing bike it's offer. It may be choice for someone who want to enjoy ride both on commute and tour . But for 200 cc bike commuter it seems good reason to upgrade , it's right ?
