I live with my parents when I was a child. After I have been working abroad in Malaysia and I live with four housemates. So, I have to share everything so much more common area than I used to. You can imagine, the fridge is always full of four portions of person. No room to fill with my stuff. Which can be kind of quite annoying me.

I’d lived in Korea for more than 30 years since I was born. I speak Korean, obviously, and am familiar with Korean culture which is considered monoculture even though we learn some foreign languages in school such as English, Chinese, Japanese, and so on.
But as I've lived abroad for the last ten years, I’m suddenly using a foreign language here much more time than I was used to in Korea.
I got to use it, and it's good to know other cultures and languages. The problem, however, is that I forgot some Korean words and expressions.

When I was in my twenties, I worked for many companies in Korea and I was very used to Korean cultures in company. The companies were very hierarchical and the people there considered taking an attitude of respecting managers and the owner so important. But when I immigrated to Canada and started to work here, I felt that Canadian people are more confident and they treat equally each other. When I was in Korea, I couldn't imazine to joke with my boss. So I'm very happy that I can be more confident here and express my thoughts freely more than I was used to.

You know how it is in middle school and high school, you studied just for a good score that makes it easy to line up people.
So I was used to studying very hard to do well on the test. But when I studied abroad, all the questions were subjective. It took so much more time to be used to the test than I was used to, which helped me a lot when I thought about it later.

When I turned 20 and became an adult, I faced a lot of decision making situation. You know what it is like to live as a normal teenager in Korea. You just accept the situation around you and study hard like many other teenagers.
However, when I became a college student, I suddenly had to make a lot more decision than I was used to from what classes I would take and how many days I would go to college to how to prepare to do what I wanna do for living in the future.
As I did a lot of decision making, I needed to take more responsibility than I was used to, which still makes me confused and overwhelmed.

    1. I studied whole my life in South Korea, so during the class, I was very used to have passive attitude such as depending on information from teacher and memorizing this. But since I made a decision to study in Europe, I realized that it is essential to have an interactive attitude with teacher and classmate. So, I should discuss topics with other people a lot more time during the class than I am used to, which still makes me tensive.

When I was in my teens, I didn't have, or tried to avoid, many chances to discuss and debate or to verbally express my opinion in an organized manner. However, as I grew older, I realized that this ability to verbally communicate with others is really important and required at work, when I speak with my boss and coworkers, and also in my personal life. Now I'm finding myself searching for the keys to successful communication by listening more carefully to the ways other people speak than I was used to.

I was born and raised in Korea and have been affected by Korea education and culture. I felt overwhelmed and nerve-racking when someone asked my opinion in front of the crowd and preferred following the group's rule. Now, I'm in sales and have a lot of opportunities to give a presentation to the customers about our equipment and give a speech more than I used to. This certainly is a good chance to broad my horizons but I often afriad to make a mistake.

In high school, things were pretty simple. It was just friends or teachers. You know, different graders barely mingle. And when I went to college, that senior-junior thing poped up and I had to deal with so much more social stress than I was used to. Which made me end up with taking off a semester.
During the lockdown, people are cooped in their homes and forced to have so much more time with their families than they are used to. Which is quite wearing for some people.

When I traveled to Europe, I usually stayed in Dormitory of Guest-house. Normally 5 to 6 people sheared one room, sometimes over 7 people did. Anyway we often bumped into each other at the sheared kitchen, common area, and room. Whenever we did, almost people said hello to me and tried to do small talking. So I spent much time talking with someone who is not my friend or family even more than I was used to in Korea, which was impressing and made not only my speaking skill but also socializing skill improve in English too.

I really didn't like to talk in a public space like on the train or bus, or in an elevator with other people on it. it's not because that I think it is a kind of public nuisance, it's just that I was an introverted person. And I was being kind of paranoid about minding other people when I was outside. And especially when it's in a very silent atmosphere, I tried as much as I could that not to make a sound. But, when after I have my girlfriend who is really the opposite of me, I'd been put in the situation that I had to talk when it's silent more than I was used to. She is a person who really doesn't give a shit about it and can speak freely whenever she wants to, which was really stressful for me because I couldn't even just ignore her talking to me and I had to reply. But it gradually changed my personality, now I feel much more comfortable with this situation.

I studied English by going to English Academy and making group with people some years ago.
So, I'm used to speak English well and very enjoyed about talking with people. But now, I'm studying alone and It makes me lose about speaking out than I was used to, which can be racking confident.
    racking confident ? or confidence?

I lost my job mainly because of Covid. While I was working, I had to do a lot of housework as well as taking care of children as with many other normal work moms. Although a wife and a husband have their own jobs each, you know how wives take care of house chores so much more than husbands in a unbalanced way. Since I am home ,I have been doing a lot of cleaning and cooking more exclusively than I was used to ,which at times I never feel like I could go back to working again as a worker not a helper at home.

둘다 표현은 예전에 했던 것보다 인 것 같은데 처음엔 I am used to 두번째는 I was used to 인 것은 왜 그런가요?

So when I went to a college, I was spending so much more time with boys than I used to, which sort of blushed my face evey time I had to talk to boys at first.

A: So you've been retired for about a year now. How is everything going?
B: You remember how I was putting in extra hours when I was working? Now all of a sudden I have so much free time on my hands I am starting to get bored. How about you? All your kids have now graduated from college, right?
A: Yeah, my youngest just graduated last June. Now all of a sudden I have extra money since I don't have to pay for my kids' college tuition!
B: Wait...hold on...so I have extra time and you have extra money...what do you say we take a little trip together to Las Vegas and enjoy ourselves?
A: That sounds like a great idea. Let's do it!

I had my children go to school. Due to Covid-19, the school provided just online class last term, but, from this term on, it has started to take the class in person. I haven’t been to my kids' school for a long time, but, today, I felt there were much more students than I was used to, which kind of freak me out at first.

Before I went to college, I've never left home and the city where I lived. I was spending my teenage life as a student and little daughter of my parents.
But when I entered college, I had to live alone and there were so much more decision making myself than I was used to, which kind of completely embarrassed and afraid of everything.
and make much more decision myself than I was used to...

when I went to English academy first time . There were many students who spesk English well. So. I was trying to study English so much more time than I was used to.

My company's situation became difficult, and employees under me were assigned to other branches. So, I was suddenly spending so much more time doing chores than I was used to, which got off work late.
I was used to, 다음에 꼭 which가 와야 하나요? So, it was getting off work late는 어색한가요?

I was born and raised in Korea, so I am very used to having work done very quickly when it comes to dealing with a government office. When I moved to California about 12 years ago, I felt like everything was a 'hurry up and wait' situation. I was suddenly spending more of the day being kept waiting than I am used to. Have you ever seen the DMV sloth scene in Zootopia? I cannot tell you how hard I laughed at this scene the first time I saw it. Anyone who has been to the DMV understands the humor here.
