I love it. On screen, they're enemies who only want to kill each other, but behind it, it's like they're one big happy family.
Wow really
With a big great hug and a kiss from me and you and won't you say i love u
Yes I feel the same
Well yea I seriously hope they don’t try to kill each other off screen
What the maksud..??
This movie deserves way more recognition for its fantastic fight scenes. The amount of work they put into these was astounding.
i think it has a cult following anyway
Dont need awards just needs fans like us

Gareth : "medic please"
Joe : "no, man, stop calling medic. I'm okay" 😁
I wish there were more movies like this one... I remember when I saw this masterpiece for the first time. I was so excited through the whole movie. I wish someone erased it from my memory, so I could watch this again with this excitement :(
Elijah Mikaelson I was blown away by both movies and I couldn’t agree more. The excitement is gone but I still love it
Well it is a good thing then that there are movies like Headshot and The Night comes for us (nonstop action, considered rather gore-intensive and utterly brutal)
Well, you can use MIB flashlight...😁😁
I find that sharing this film with friends and others who haven't seen it brings back some of that thrill, being with people experiencing it for the first time
No cap. Seeing the Raid for the first time is damn near life changing haha
It's just something about when they say cut and everybody looking out for everybody that's just heartwarming
Wait ... So that guy really got kneed in the face? True dedication
that sub zero
In american and european martial art movies, when there is a fight scene you can notice that the camero moves a lot, it moves so much that you basicaly can't see shit.
In this movie, the fight scenes are clear, you can fully appreciate the choregraphy. I think that this is a result in the difference of practice in martial arts.
Ps : Not all american and european movies are like that, but most of them.
I like these movies and chinese because of that. We can see the martial art
I think the reason that the camera moves a lot in such action scenes is because they want to cover up the fact that the choreography is basically really bad. In movies featuring Jackie Chan for example the fight scenes are clear and visible because they don't have to hide anything.
@@exiszentriker2952 i agree with u
It's because the action is played by stuntmen and they take several shots to have the scene they want. Close up shots with the actors' faces. Their culture is more firearms and explosions. In comparison to Asian martial arts movies, theirs are more simplistic so to a public used to that genre, they look slow and boring. Thus the production team hides their shortcomings as well as hide that the lead actors aren't playing the fight scenes themselves with effects they've always used in Western shows to simulate action even when there's nothing interesting on screen. Best behind the scenes I've watched of that trick was for the CSI shows. The production team explained the forensic scenes are very boring if they've shown them as they truly were. For instance: take a sample, put it under the microscope, push the button of the computer and wait for the analysis and results. Boooooorrrrriiiing. So what do they do? Choose an upbeat music, play with flashy lights as if it was a clubhouse, make non-stop cuts of a few seconds, turn the camera at weird angles... Then mashup that jumble together and the public feels as if they've watched something exciting when in reality, it's just a lab staff turning on his machine to wait for the analysis to come. So unimpressive martial arts scenes in Western productions are given the same treatment. Plus they add explosions and other distractions into that jumble.
Rather watch something like raid, john wick, sicario than to watch a 17cuts in 7 seconds hollywood movie
Just watched this, it was brutal! I have so much respect for everyone involved in films with stunts, especially those doing their own stunts because they get injured for their craft!
Silat penkak
Indonesians are really talented i worked with them on c-130 repairs in saudi arabia and they are hella skilled.
2:27 when you have a movie to shoot at 2 but Timnas plays at 5.
Gareth is on a whole another level of action movie ditector. The more you watch the detile, the more you will be fascinated. What a cinematic crafts here.
Hollywood start taking notes 📝
Don't worry, if anything makes money, they'll always do their version of it. Sometimes it's good, sometimes bad.
They did. And we got the masterpieces known as john wick
@@ButchersNailsEnjoyer
John Wick was good, but nowhere near "masterpiece". People use this word so much, it has lost its meaning.
S.ns. Yeah I might’ve been over exaggerating on wick but it’s still a breath of fresh air in the action genre
In extraction 👎😠 web series
One of the favorites movies for me. Action scenes are simply awesome!
My respect to all who made this fantastic movie!
You still see the action and the energy even behind the scene,
Back in 2012, "The Raid" caught me by complete surprise. Best action movie of all times with its intense martial art scenes, dark environments and survival horror vibe, certainly on the top of my list.
these are all stuntmants in reality.. not actor who get trained or get body doubled.. they performed real stunts also got hurt amidst shoot.. great actions.. admire this movie.. one of the topmost high octane action movie till date.. our Bollywood directors need to see and learn
radolf p bollywood has learnt it with 'baaghi', right?
Erlangga Hasto yet not enough.. those kind of stunts are taikuwando Indpired which are not that out of the world.. those are common but not unique.. silat is unique and can set awesome milestone in martial arts and the stunts performed are real these are neatly choreographed and nicely edited
Fucking bollywood director only can do copy like in Baghi.
Fools
radolf p they are not stuntmans. They are years of real national and ASEAN martial arts champions.
They are not stuntmant, they are martial arts from Indonesia.
Raid director should be very proud of how well his movies became
It's so cheaply made, yet is considered the best action movie :)

I am a Filipino and I love watching this movie even though it is brutal. The fighting scene is just "whoah" hahaha. I become a fan of Iko Uwais since merantau. Love from Philippines.
You sure know "merantau" ?
not many foreign people know Iko Uwais merantau
Because Joe Taslim has Judo basic, they used it in scenes instead force him to do silat moves. That's the difference between good & bad movie production. This one's certainly good
Wow, quite a revelation. On one side it's low budget and quite simplistic, yet such an amazing action film came out on the other side of it
The raid and the raid part 2 are 2 of the greatest most slept on fighting films of all time. So gritty so raw
i think u mean Silat, they are not Kung fu

Probably the greatest martial arts film ever made!
When you use the budget perfectly
It’s SOOOOO critical to make sure there is never anybody “waiting” when there are multiple attackers. I see this far too often in crappy action films. You have to make it look as realistic as possible. Ever see all the Agent Smiths in the Matrix movies just standing around or punching air?
What does this comment have to do with Raid?
@@harish123az Iko said in the video that even if the fight focuses on one person, they made sure everyone else in the scene aren't doing nothing 1:10

Iko Uwais, Joe Taslim, Yayan Ruhiyan, you're best actor in Indonesia and im so proud with you all. Good job.
Yeah.. We filipinos really loved this kind of movie.. Goosebumps
What a professionals they almost hit each other to look so true!!!! Magnificent!!!
Not almost. All the punches and kicks to the body of the actors were real. Iko Uwais and the other fighters had to learn how to control their speed and strength so that it would look real on the camera.
Look back years ago, The Raid Redemption was like Horror+Action movie for me. so..."brutalized". Can't wait for the 3rd episode.
FireLeaf they are making the 3rd episode????when?
no clue about that yet. it was just a rumor.
・「MADiy」・ i can't wait man!! This guy gonna be the next action star no doubt

At first i thought this will be a shootout until they dropped their rifles and started breaking bones and kicking faces. So damn good

Not to mentioned,Fight scene seem like actual fight scene like two dude who know martial art spare each other instead of sucker/punk style fight.
The quality is so good.
This movie is outstanding 😍
why iko uwais is such an underrrated actor in indonesia...ii seriously realised he is great actor apart from being an stuntmen..who took indonesian movies to next level with really high octane action..
radolf p he is not a stuntman. Where did you get your facts from? He learned pencak silat since he was 10, he was competing in national pencak silat team for years. He won on Pencak Silat tournament in Jakarta on 2003 and won the national Pencak Silat Competition on 2005. He's a real athlete! Not stuntman!

because Joe Taslim is actor who had martial art training. Iko Uwais (Rama) and Yayan Ruhian (mad dog) are Penchak Silat Practitioner who had film ("the raid" is Iko second film after "merantau".
Kamen Ghaida Farish Iko Uwais and Yayan was national Pencak Silat champions. Joe Taslim was South East Asian Judo champion in SEA Games and representing Indonesia more than a decade. They are real athletes and champions :) Yayan has Pencak Silat school too.
