Saw this movie yesterday and kept asking myself how they did that shot where the camera moves through the car. Now I know, and I would never have come up with the idea that it's a guy disguised as a seat. Brilliant stuff.

SOMETIMES all they sell is the ggi. The fight scenes are like shieeet so many cut cant see whats going on in the screen
This movie may be an Indonesian movie but it is a very international film. A british director, indonesian actors, japanese actors, chinese hong kong stunt corrdinators and more!

It was digitally altered to make it look like car seat in the final cut.
Watching this helps remind me that no one died in the making of these films.
All the hard work has paid off. This isn't just the best movie to come out of Indonesia, this in my opinion is one of the greatest action movies ever in cinematic history. Raid Redemption is right up there too.

Yes indeed, that scene also caught my attention that the camera enters inside the car then goes out right afterwards.
The producer and director are both phenomenal. They literally place an artistic measure in the film.
don't forget the cinematographer Matt Flannery.
Early during the car chase there's a fight scene that takes place inside a car and there's a shot from above the car (sans roof) showing the main character fights 3/4 other guys.
You wouldn't see it in a Western action movie because it could easily be written off as expensive and unnecessary but it's brilliant and goes to show the amount of effort and thought they put into the film.
The car chase scene is f*cking awesome..

All that for only 4.5 million dollars, and yet has more thrills than Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which costs 100 million dollars.
exactly, international cinema is so underrated.
Its worth noting that this should not just be an argument for "wow, internationally filmmakers are just better and smarter with money". Things are way cheaper in Indonesia, jobs also pay less. Some of it down to economically the same Hollywood jobs pay less in different countries, and some of it unfortunately is because many people in these jobs in Indonesia are underpaid or not paid at all (which is not good, but more common than you think).
The reason a lot of Hollywood movies are so expensive is because they make more, they are also liable to being sued if things aren't done properly and people aren't paid what they are owed. Do some more research, I'm not here to lecture.
P.S.: You picked a bad example, most people would agree T2 is fuckin' awesome.
This film wouldn't touch the action in Terminator 2. Terminator 2 IS the greatest action film ever. Apart from the car chase, the rest was boring in The Raid 2. Like the first film, very overrated.

Holy fuck the amount of effort and stuff put into movies like this are mind-blowing and to think these are all real stunts are just crazy awesome.
Yeah, Indonessian cinema is really starting to take off now. Gareth Evan's and the Mo Brothers in particular are really bringing the Industry out to international audiences. If Indonesia's film industry keeps going like this for another 10-20 years, then it will probably be able to give Japanese and Korean film industries a run for their money.

I really wish Gareth Evans would make an extended directors cut of The Raid 2, loved all the deleted scenes, especially the one where Andi sees the police looking at the truck full of the dead swat members and Bowo's demise. Really shows how deep the criminal underworld of The Raid was.
Cannot wait for The Raid 3, hopefully Rama and the Goto family returns. Despite not having any action scenes, I really enjoyed the performances by these Japanese actors.

I find the overhead view of fight scenes here pretty well executed. Like the one during the car chase and also in the bathroom stall. Really claustrophobic and well done.
This will be the BEST movie of 2014 for me.

9:17 - when i saw that in the cinema - it blew my mind. Big kudos to the crew for going that insane. Others would go with CGI.

Tapi The Raid 2 ini beneran ngejawab semua harapan gw dan mungkin penonton lain.
Karena disekuel ini lebih brutal,lebih sadis,dan dengan durasi lebih lama otomatis tambah bikin banyak adegan "romantis(berantem gk abis abis) ala Gareth Evans.
Akibatnya,jantung deg2an sampe tarik nafas dalem di setiap adegan.
Dari berantem di massal di lumpur penjara,kejar2an di mobil,final fight di kitchen,sampe adegan tembak kepala pake shotgun dan zoom depan mata.
