Just what the doctor ordered. Love this thing. Still over my head. But time spent and vids like these . And the full manual. Will make a world of difference. Bless up 🙌🏻
It's really awesome. I plan on keeping it on my board for a long time. I'm also looking forward to the full manual, I know there's some gems hidden in it! Thanks for watching.
My god, this thing sounds gorgeous - especially love the way it breaks up smoothly into warm crunch as you take the bits knob down, rather than just going 16-bit smooth -> 8 bit grainy -> 4 bit destroyed. Wonder if there's a bit of regular distortion in there too, or something more interesting? I really like your review style as well :)
Meris is going to kill me financially. I need this, the mercury 7 and the enzo. I wonder if I got all three at the same time if they'd give me a price break? 😂😂😂
yea right. If anything, get the M7 or Ploymoon. The Enzo is ok, not super special, unless you have time to edit the good features. Infinite Jets is way cooler.
Yes I own it and struggle with exactly the same problem! Sometimes I would like to have a more subtle effect, but without a mix poti it’s not possible. Only turnaround is a mixer pedal or even the send return of a desktop mixer. I mean: the pedal is so expensive, one more control shouldn’t break the bank for meris. I’ll keep it anyway....
I run mine lately thru the BOSS LS-2….I run in the parallel setting with one loop empty so you have your main signal passing thru in parallel with the effect(s) in the loop. The LS-2 have independent volumes for each loop, which is great for balancing how much Ottobit you want in the pathway. Currently I treat the ‘loop’ as a ‘synth’ channel and add effects after the Ottobit to create a synth feel….drive,tremolo,phaser. I use the new MXR Layers before the LS-2 to help create the proper sounding entrance and use reverbs and delay after the LS-2 to head to the amp. Have fun
Since it's been three years now since they put this out are there any other peddles in the same vein. Really bugs me that there is not a mix knob on this. There's one on my Enzo, there's one on my Mercury 7. Why not on this, that is the question?
aBunchOfPedals most of its effects are gradually brought to the mix the more you turn the knobs. What good would have been a mix on filter? Or on the stutter? Would you like to lower the sample rate and yet keep a “normally” sampled sound? I actually wonder why they couldn’t fit a mini preset system like the one seen on Source Audio Nemesis or Ventris.
Lots of good info man!! Thanks for doing this!! Mine will be here Wednesday and this demo will help a ton. A little bummed that the midi isn't separated from the expression but it's not that big of a deal.
Yea, I hear ya on that for sure. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. There is a more detailed instruction manual that should be on the Meris site soon. There's a few hidden settings I missed.
Yes there is clearly an emergence of pedals with two markets in mind. For synth players, pedals have always been appealing but problematic. Add stereo and line level I/O and you've got a bigger market. These advantages would apply to effects send/return and certainly don't detract from guitarists' needs. Now: blend/mix knobs everyone, please.
Someone just recently asked me that. They really are different. The bit crushing on the Ottobit Jr. is awesome and the sequencing sounds great. The DS is a little more in depth since you can edit the sequences with your DAW. Maybe I should just do a video my my Dream Sequence already.
yeah man that would be cool. thanks for the response . iam leaning toward the otto bit . i am still figureing out my jets. are you hanging on too yours?
This would be MUCH more interesting if I knew before hand what the source audio is...here it could be a keyboard or looper or whatever...but we've no idea :(
Best demo for this pedal by far, thanks
Ah thanks! That’s good to hear. Glad you’re feeling it👍
Bought it yesterday...one of the most amazing stompboxes ever!!!

That last arpeggio sounded great
Yea this was a really interesting pedal for sure. Lots of neat stuff hiding in there!
This is definitely not just your basic pleasure model.
At the 8 min mark it almost has the sound of the Pink Floyd sequencer as heard on the Dark Side Of The Moon track- On The Run before Time! Almost! LOL
haha, I know. Sounds cool right?
I found this to be an awesome showcase of this pedal's effects. You did a marvelous job. I will own and master this.
BRAVO!🎉
Salad Fatoosh Thanks! I still don’t know how I managed to pull it off lol.
Must own.
Can't wait to own this. holy crap
yea man, it's awesome. I've been having a lot of fun with this and the Mercury 7 reverb
cosmogang it's not like you'll ever do anything cool with it, chill out.
That sounds pretty damn awesome
Awesome. I want it.
Marc McLaud get it!!!
Man...this is great!!!!!
wow - THIS looks cool!
antfactor it really is. The tap tempo synced glitch is awesome.
Great demo!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Thumbs up for the Caddyshack reference.
I believe this pedal plays you.

@@aBunchOfPedals +1 for the polymoon
@@aBunchOfPedals I have this and it's the balls, but I love the Enzo too.I think it's about the best synth pedal out.The sounds are vast and lush.
The stuff, Trent inspires to be created amazes me...
all you need is some breakbeats and the first two minutes are the basis for a squarepusher track
Wow, that's awesome you say that! Squarepusher is one of my all time favorite artists. Thanks!
so i ended up making a jungle track and sampling this video for part of it. i hope you don't mind! famitory.bandcamp.com/track/meeting-at-shimmer-yard
Dude that's cool!
eustace cranch Yuuuuup, he’s awesome!
famitory dude, 2 years later this just popped into my head. Had to look for the remix comment. Damn, the end is fuckin rad.
Damn.....that`s heavy
It sure is Marty
You are my kinda groovy. Thanx.
Thanks ☺️. And thanks for taking the time to check out the video!
I’m puzzled. Is there an instrument connected to this, or is it a signal generator ?
Yea, it’s just some guitar loops, nothing super special really
11:00 is it an Aphex Twin simulator ?
taratapa Hahaha! You made it that far?!
Anybody else own this pedal and struggle with the fact that there is no mix control? Anybody have a good solution?
Hey that's a good point. I actually never even though about it until but that would be pretty cool.
Yeah not having a mix control sucks. One possible solution could be getting a signal blender though.
Yes I own it and struggle with exactly the same problem!

A question to you: i World like to use a sample of yiur demo ... Can i mail you to ask ?
Of course you can! Just let me hear it when you're done and credit me, you can use whatever you want. Email the song to me at abunchofpedals at gmail

Great demo dude!
Thanks man, much appreciated. I'm glad you liked it :)
Reverse it and put a little delay on it and it will sound awesome.
Cool toy but not sure what I'd do with it.

오토비트
Nice stut... stutt...stutter effect
If someone took the Boredoms and condensed their sound into one pedal, this would be it.
T. N. Another band I need to check out :)
DUDE! Boredoms are the SHIT!!🤘
How do you compare this to Red Panda Particle? I’m kinda in between whether to get this or the Particle.
I went for this one over the particle simply because the particle is mono only and I'm using it with synths so stereo was an important factor.
lol are you serious? The meris ottobit jr is on a different league FAM
Yes there is clearly an emergence of pedals with two markets in mind. For synth players, pedals have always been appealing but problematic. wow! how did i miss this one? how do you think it compares to the Dream Sequence by Hologram Electronics

grande ottobit
Shit this thing kicks you in the face nicely
Yea, it's one of those pleasant kicks to the face :)
1:02 Easily the best? Think Geiger counter pro wants a word with you
Alex Jones haha I’ve never even come close to one of those things. Seems pretty cool though.
This would be MUCH more interesting if I knew before hand what the source audio is...here it could be a keyboard or looper or whatever...but we've no idea :(
It's all guitar, on a looper of course.
Maybe take a look at the video description 😉. Every UA-cam video had one.
Oh fuck that filter
Oh, "오토비트", it's Korean :)
What's it say?
aBunchOfPedals it roughly translates to "ottobit" lol. It's pronounced oh-toh-bi-teu
quality weird noises
Thanks :)
오토비트 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋthis is korea langauge
Someone else said that too... what does it mean?
If you change the auto bit to Korean, it will be (자동박자) automatic beat
aBunchOfPedals it’s because one of its creator at Meris is Korean. Enzo is an Italian name because it is another engineer’s grandpa name.
Fuck... I...don't....need... it....
yes you do...
You're clearly just turning knobs with no clue about what effect they'll have. 🤣
That’s how I roll 😉
