There is a lot more to do In Denver than drink beer lol
Like what? Smoke weed? Ski?
the razmatazz ski, hike, climb, raft, run, camp, Denver has one of the best zoo’s, aquarium, the wild life center, skydiving, music, dance clubs, shopping, just to name a few 😉
Wait, I know something even better for transplants to do in Denver!

Tierney Sutton if you want that go to glendive Montana
Make ya own vid and show us then...
Ok...Here's what you want to know from a resident of 22 years. Recreational dispensaries are everywhere. Best to blow off the rental car and take the train from the airport to downtown and just hang there. Traffic is terrible. The downtown (LODO) nightlife is amazing and fun.
Be 21 to buy pot and have a valid US license or passport. You can't buy more than an ounce at one location. The edibles are usually high quality and locally sourced. Technically you can't smoke pot in public by law, but the cops don't really care as long as you're discreet.
DO NOT attempt to take pot home. TSA is looking for it and there are drug dogs at the airport. DO NOT attempt to transport it across state lines because cops in the surrounding states are looking for it. Give your body a day to adjust to the altitude and drink lots of water.
You'll be fine. So come here.... enjoy an amazing town and our relaxed vibe, beautiful weather, and of course, get up into the mountains if you can. God's country.
Thank you.
THANK YOU
tavern2468 Colorado fun!!!
Wow you're one of the few who actually encourage people to come and enjoy the scenery and the culture. Huge props to you. I've talked to alot of people who are from Denver who have negative attitudes towards people wanting to visit and/or move there. Thank you so much.
Mike Patton what about edibles? Can I mike say chocolates in another chocolate box or something
I live in Denver, and this video represents it horribly.
Make your own video then and represent...
@@davidmendoza862 No, then we'll have even more people moving here and ruining our state

God people whine. Hopefully the comment section is no indication of the beautiful people here. Born and raised...I will always love you Denver
Lol for real, the comment section here really makes the people of Denver look like a whiny and surly bunch. I'm sure that's not an accurate representation, though
@@Drewb18c1 Nah, We just have a strong distaste for purple haired, pierced faced idiots looking for a handout and some weed
Hipsters are everywhere! What with their hairy faces and their vegan diets and their tiny feet and their bedding made of straw. Wait. Hamsters! Hamsters are everywhere!
chattigre not really
great comment
chattigre that is completely false, if you go to Denver which I live in Thornton so it's pretty close, it's only mainly composed if pot heads or stones or homeless, not hippies and all
this is hilarious
Dang hamster they gentrified our beloved city
the job market in Denver is completely saturated. traffic is out of control. the city has outgrown what its infrasturucture can handle. homeless everywhere. Stay out if you can.
There's absolutely *no such thing* as a "saturated" job market! If that were the case, cities could not grow to the size of New York. With more jobs come more people, *and* with more people come more jobs. So the whole concept of outsiders taking people's jobs is basically a biased myth. Only employers give people jobs and do so on their own free will. The job market is fluid.
That's why I like Kansas City better!
Just visited this past weekend. Wow, the homeless. Packs of them everywhere, of all ages. Sad to see. No surprise they hang out by the dispensaries.
Stop whining you big baby! It's not that bad. There are more people in Los Angeles than the entire state of Colorado. Compared with some cities, this is a ghost town!
That is a completely bleak outlook on the city. There are a lot more homeless in other parts it the country and the traffic isn't that bad as long as you aren't in rush hour.
So we're gonna ignore the weed scene?
wong561 FACTS
+wong561 LOL
Yea we are I'm ashamed of us legalizing it
Hays Nash how I live in Aurora and I've only seen 2 people smoking weed since it was legalized
Wait, do you mean to imply as if it weren't already obvious? /s
What to to in Denver? LEAVE!!! WE ARE FULL!!!

Looks like you did not plan for the future and now your projecting from a self made victim mind set before your forced to move due to a low income. Looking foward to moveing to a town near you soon!
Rents here are WAY!!!!! too expensive!! Not enough affordable housing!! Downtown if full of homeless and criminals. I have lived here all my life and have definately seen the change!! But! if you can afford it? come on in! Lol!
Visit Denver then Go home!
"My man!" ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)
Agreed
Here's a thought, realize that humans are nomadic by nature and people have to move and shift around to follow their passions. If you can't be open and welcoming, then maybe YOU should leave.
Danny Gregory-O'shea I did lol
There should be a lottery to move to Denver.
And for every new person who moves to Denver, there should be a lottery to pick who must leave.
Ugh all this shows is the over rated hipster areas and locations. Real Denver isn't the rhino and lodo districts. Good to see that the Mayan was on this video.
I live in Denver and this is NOTHING! You guys are missing so much. There’s so many cool places to go that aren’t included in this video. We have many great places like Stanley Marketplace, 16th street mall, THE MOUNTAINS, Elitchs, the zoo, the museum of nature and science, Colfax and a lot of old buildings. This is making Denver look so boring but there is actually so much to do. So if your actually looking for cool things to do, use google. Also, there are a lot of hippies but not this many hippies lol. We have a mix, and not everything is about pot. If you go down I25 that’s like the main dispensary area but there aren’t many dispensary’s anywhere else.
Supernatural addict with a pen Don’t tell them
We used to be a state with nothing but cowboys, but the first Califagian hippie migration in the 60s brought an end to that..
Not sure why this video exists because it doesn't really give any info about Denver and it just shows a few businesses (which are good ones), but I will dish out some info to add to it:) So without further ado Denver 36 hr and 2 min. To start off with Denver is a great biking city. The streets are easy to navigate on bike and there is the creek path that covers west downtown and goes up to cherry creek. Cherry creek is for upscale shopping and its nice to walk around. From the south head over to cap hill, to colfax, for games and shows. There are a slew of venues fillmore ogden and further east is the bluebird. Colfax is grimy has been for a while but that is the charm of it. The pubs range from hippie ones, sanchos, to game ones, 1 up, to dive bars with small acts playing, lions lair. One of the highlights in Denver is the growing comedy scene, every night there are open mics up the ying and all the comedians use them for training. There is fine gentlemens club that has traveling and acts wed night above city o city at the deer pile, its great, free and beer is for donation. 36 hr and 10 min:) Broadway is a wee hipster but mixed in with newcomers so some bros, it has vintage shops coffee shops, vintage book stores and a good venue called hi dive for more mainstream hipster music. Oh and it has a movie theater, the myan. actually its an awesome movie theater. Downtown has tons of brew pubs, and breweries. do not expect good food in colorado, high elevation perhaps, but great drinks to wash it down. there are fun restaurants, i like the kitchen downtown, and there are some venues but they are on trashy 16th st. if you like to fight thats a good place to go, some toughies in there, much like that street in seattle, they look identical, otherwise all of downtown is safe. Lo do is not my thing but for clubbing thats where to go, im a sucker for beta, nice techno dub and drugs. Further north of lodo is five points, thats where good jazz and more music occurs. it used to be a terrible neighborhood but has always had good music. Its been gentrified and once again good hippie, jazz, dub and so forth. not really a bar scene there. Next, below five points is river north, which is a tech area that utilizes older small factories and so forth. There is an art scene there good restaurants for denver and probably the better breweries. great area to be on bike, for you can bounce back and forth between dozens of spots. weed is weed in my mind, edibles tinctures are my favorite way do it and most places sell the same of each so i dont have a preference on dispensaries. It's a good city, dont trash it and you wont be messed with:)
Ali Baba what is Lo do?
Dont smoke weed next to families or in apartments next to them and you good,
corey johnson lower downtown
Ali baba five points wasn't terrible. I live in New York now and trust me there are terrible places there. My Grandpa's Church has been there for 30 plus years. There was crime but I never had a problem. It's definitely gentrified now.
Biking is the only way to get around downtown denver. Whoever designed the streets for denver was high on every drug under the sun.
Denver is alright. I live about an hour from there but I used to be only 30 mins away, so I've been there plenty. There isn't much to do out here though; I mean it looks pretty with the atmosphere and mountains in the background but it gets old after a couple of years. Sporting events are fun, the food is nothing new, also there are three theme parks. The city just lacks hustling, exoticness, and excitement which LA, NYC, and Houston have. For me the environment just gets dull and I'm begging for beaches. People that I know from major cities that live here just tell stories about how great where ever it was they moved from. I can't wait to move back to Texas.
+Christian Nava Texas? Really? Well, go where your heart is. But honestly Denver is a good place to live. I've lived here 30 years and have never been *bored*.
+Dana Bennett Well I know plenty of Coloradans that are bored to hell here and it's usually the youngsters that complain. lol
dude its the other way around for me I have been being for mountains and I hate the beach. lol
Christian Nava There is n such thing as boring places... only boring people.
Dallas V Go to Houston or most places in Texas and you'll change your mind.
I expected a LOT more from this video. If this is focused on tourism, they could have mentioned that Red Rocks is just outside of Denver; and within a few hours you can be in a totally different landscape/area by going to the mountains and seeing breathe taking scenery.
Denver is big in music, but also theater. The parks are filled with people playing sports every weekend. The history and architecture of this place. The winter sports in Colorado that you can go ski and snowboard, and the summer activities such as kayaking, rafting, mtn. biking. There is so much to do, and the community is so involved. The good of Denver is to live in a big city, but small enough where people care and get involved.
Get out, look outside of your window. If you live here stop whining, you will have to have a job in any other city, and there will be traffic there too, and homeless people there too. Welcome to civilization.
I feel like people that complain about homeless have never been to any other big city. Like yeah, society sucks for a lot of people, be glad you aren't in their place.
Denver really has nothing to offer, please avoid moving here at all costs. Thank you.
Denver native. Most of these places suck they showed and most of the info was wrong. Do the opposite of what they say here.
You're not native American
Denver is such a bland overhyped city.
That ice cream gerntz sucks
Casa Bonita?
that's in Lakewood
And it's sick! Never has been good.
Seriously! You can't make a video like this and leave out Casa Bonita
That dump? Hahaha
😂😂😂😂😂
Casa Bonita is awful!!! Not sure why it’s still around.
I was brought here 6 years ago. I don’t find it all that fun and everything you want to do costs so much money. Fees for this. Licenses for that. But most of all, the people here aren’t very friendly or neighborly. Obviously that’s a generalization. I’ve found that people that are actually from here are really cool. But Denver is a melting pot and most of the people I’ve met are from Chicago, Wisconsin, Detroit and California and they bring their attitudes with them.
I moved here from Lincoln, NE to the suburbs of Denver in Englewood. There's so much gang violence, homeless people, and my house has been broken into by Juggalos who hang out at Cushing Park. Moving back to my small town. If you think about moving here save yourself the grief. STAY AWAY!
I don't have to do what a Nebraskan tells me to do,I'm going to Denver for as long as I want and I don't care what you say,try to stop me from going
Supremebean303 agree don’t come just leave it to the natives
There's a reason we natives refer to it as Engle-hood sometimes. As with any state or city there are good parts and bad parts.
I live in Engel wood, don’t say stuff that ain’t true
Please leave
Denver is really diverse {11% black population] so I am disappointed the NY Times didnt mention anything about Five Points
@ColoredSpaces
But that's not a good thing...
And unfortunately 5 Points has lost so much of its authentic and beautiful history. It's sad!
Franklin Bluth five points is changing alot go with Aurora
Lmao 🤣 Denver is way far to be a diverse city sorry it ain’t New York or Miami or San Diego or Sacramento or Los Angeles
Soooooo, where is Pete's Kitchen? If all your'e going to show is businesses, then show the true landmarks of Denver, okay?
+Badass Erza Pete's Kitchen is on Colfax Avenue near East High School sort of around there and a little east of East
Dana Bennett Lol, thanks, but I know, I live near it.
+Dana Bennett I didn't realize that, BA Erza! Oh well, maybe someone else will read it...
Love that place
A true jewel of the city! Colfax &Race.
I've been in Denver my whole life and I've never been to any of these places. This is so hipster it hurts lol

If you're going to talk about Denver show the outside of the city like lakeside
Alex Gutierrez lakeside is garbage
@@bengregg8031 Lakeside is a historical landmark and it is always fun to go to.
I'm a 4G native, this list is awful. Also, I can't believe they snubbed Casa Bonita. And didn't even mention an Illuminati tour of the airport. Smh....
Heather Erickson
Wait, there is a illuminati tour?
Casabonita is a craphole
Casa Bonita sucks and the airport conspiracy theories are lame and way over done. DIA is a really nice and high quality airport and so many people overlook it to say "Hehe Swastika runways, hehe".
How can they make a video about my home and not mention the homelessness, weed, and polution. Denver is an industrial city, many power plants and factories. It is really great if you know where to go. If you are looking for some fun, deffinately come. Bars and drugs galore
NEW VEGAN PLACE IN DENVER! 1541 platte street! delicious high quality food, its called superfood bar!
AKA "Where Straight White Hipsters Go in Denver."
where weed is legalized, there's gonna be lots of good food
I thought Sam’s3 had good eats....
I am so sick of the micro brewing obsession! It's overblown. It's just another form of alcoholic beverage that kills you the same way.
we welcome visitors all day every day..... but please visit and return to your original city because we are now overcrowded with people from other states coming to smoke weed and ski. Please blaze and evacuate our state! LOL (wishful thinking I guess)
+Erica Green u should probably leave too lol
agreed!
yesssss
Yes!! Come get high, now go home!! lol
Nah im moving there for the outdoor activities i dont smoke so i couldnt care about the weed
One of the best cities in the world. Humble people, and something for everyone, local or not. If anyone is debating visiting here, take it from a native, you have to experience Denver. It is a city like no other
I'd argue with you, but that would make me retarded. Only reason I don't relocate is cuz all the PPL I care about are where I live now. Wouldn't enjoy living in a great place with no friends.
haha I don't blame you everyone has a place to call home.
In the world..? That's a bit much by any measure lol. Denver has it's nice aspects, but its really lacking a lot. It's pretty bland and overhyped in my opinion.
5280!!
Hi, a student is here! In this summer im going to visit to your city :) im so excited. I will come via Work&Travel program. Do you have any suggestions for me? I'll work for Elitch Gardens and looking for a second job for 3 months.
Don't forget the failing infastructure on the west side of town
I was just in Denver and I have to say it was a huge disappointment. The biggest highlight was the Zoo for me. Next, time I’ll be going to Colorado Springs. Seems more interesting if you want to venture.
How are you doing though Mimi
did she say "Denver's First Brewery...We've been here since 1994"... ??? !!! BWWAAAAAAAH -HAAAAAAAH...HAAAAAAAAAAH... HAAAAAAAAAAH.
I was like wtf as well. By 94 there were prob like 200 micro microbreweries.
Where was the cannabis culture in this piece? Seriously disappointed you couldn't get that right.
yes ! what were they thinking . Its something we want to know . Al's
“This might be a good video”
Sees its from the new york times
“Oh...never mind I will just google it”
Too expensive. Prefer the Springs, burn the pot.
I like your thinking, burn it all and chase the dirty hippies out for good!

Not inspired to visit Denver after seeing this video. Basically you get the vibe there are bars and a few niche shops/hole in the wall stores. Where are the parks, museums, great restaurants and hidden gems of Denver?
Oh yes denver is sooooo great...until you get to south colfax.... Or aurora...
Little Man Ice cream is overrated. People go for the location, the ice cream tastes mediocre.
Anonymous asdfg plus the owner is pro gentrification...let's you know his true character
The only dog I haven't tried at Biker Jim's is the rattlesnake. I love that place. 💖💖💖
Hello there Miss
It’s not Rino it’s five points
I'm saving this video, but only because of the comments section. All the tips and insight from the locals are much appreciated as I am planning a short solo trip there!
Who came up with these suggestions? Literally none of these suggestions showed the good parts of Denver. Completely butchered this amazing video idea
Mayan Theater is by far best thing listed. Don't go to Little Man. (Denver resident)
Now we have e-scooters.
I staying Denver after my legal issues have been dealt with and I have completed either Jail or probation or bolth.
No car scene ! Bring a Bike to get around !
Before you visit Denver, take a good look at a map of downtown.
You'll see that downtown streets run NW - SE and SW - NE, as opposed to streets in surrounding areas, which run N - S and W - E.
This can be confusing at first.
The downtown streets were laid out to conform to the Platte River and Cherry Creek.
Yes you may visit Denver please please don't move here. Elitch Gardens is going away because of that
Denver reminds me a lot of Toronto Canada in terms of their culinary palette. Denver and Toronto try to push food to the limits which I hate. They do some funky things which to me is a turn off. If I want a hot dog I want a hot dog not made of elk. Cauliflower crust for pizza, stop it😭. I'm originally from Charlotte. Man, they keep it simple and consistent. Using different spices to up the game is okay, but snake hot dogs I'm going to pass in a BIG way. Other than that Denver is the ish👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.
I've caught and have ate wild Rattlesnake and I was not disappointed by biker Jim's rattlesnake dog at all...
I work on a few different dairy farms in
New Mexico.
"It's not overdeveloped"
Tell that to all the Black people in Five Points who were priced out of the homes they lived in for generations to build the brewpub strip mall known to hipsters as RiNo...jfc you'd think not a single Black person lived in Denver from this video (I'm sure that's part of the appeal).
Hahaha, terrible video! All you showed was the yuppie places. Everything thing was bad about this except Museo de las Americas. Rino is not a real neighborhood. The guy who owns the ice cream place said a quote in the news paper that Denver is gentrifying gracefully...are you kidding? When is gentrification graceful???
Native to Colorado and I got a good place for you If you don’t wanna be in The city you could take a quick trip to Salida and go there really small town AWSOME food hipster heaven. And from there go to crested butte (not butt) there’s this donut place that’s to die for and a really good coffee shop. Also in the summer you can hike and it’s so much fun.
Lived in Denver. This video doesn't do anything except tell you that there are some places you can drink beer there. Just like, you know, every other city in America. Watch a different video. And do something with your life besides drink.
People that come to Denver think there’s just a big pot cloud above the city. There is literally so much more than weed it’s not even funny. Skiing and snowboarding, a huge music scene, fooooood, parks and recreation and etc.
Yeah denver has all this but manbut shopping eating and drink you can do any wear, I've lived here my whole life and that's just day one come in the winter you better go to up to the mountains skiing and snowboarding in the summer take a couple days go camping hiking, biking, rafting, and its not just denver that's cool Fourt Collins is amazing. It a a collage town but it is so different from denver I honestly need to go around more of colorado cuz I know there way more here then what I know
What they don't mention is that the city shuts down what seems to be around 9p-10p. It is really weird because there are young people everywhere but they turn in early like senior citizens. Denver is also a very white city, albeit extremely friendly white ppl.
Denver is home to so much more than the maxed out gentrified version that this clip is showing as authentic. Not a fan...if your from somewhere else, continue to stop in to visit and then go home. You won't find affordable housing, a lot of new people are struggling here. Also river north or Rino, as it's now called has always been the North side to people born here! Changing names of locations to names made popular through corporate marketing is some bs and annoying. Gentrification is real, and ugly when you see it up close.
Every single travel video I see of Denver has a bunch of people in the comments talking about how inaccurate the video is soooo.....where is a good video then?
I’m just seeing this. And I can say this is not what all of Denver is! There’s more than the gentrified “cool” parts.
Laaaaaaaame. Who goes on vacation for museums and stores with HUNDREDS of trails in the mountains?
the irony at thee end ov this video w skylark talking about denver not being over developed yet, and now it is getting over developed and thee skylark is no more... sad
Wow this really is what you expect if you live here! ( so BOOTIFUL)
Personal opinion; biker Jim’s pheasant dog is great, lil mans salted oreo is good and u have to at least try chubbys smothered fries but go to the original chubbys on 38th
‘Sweet action’ on south broadway for ice cream! A denver couple started it and own it. They are very good to their employees and the ice cream is sooooo awesome!
Eryn S I agree. Sweet Action over Little Man any day.
Hello there Eryn
Fort Collins is the microbrew capital. Denver is just doing it for attention.
1:58 What? Different cultures like North Americas? What?
Don't forget to bring masks with you. The air quality is very bad!
I am not impressed with Denver and would gladly move back to Michigan. People here in Denver are stuck up, seems everyone has a chip on their shoulder, they all seem to act like they're better than everyone. I just don't belong in this yuppie hipster snob hell.
+ConfettiPopper 1081 I was very ignorant saying what I did. At the time I posted that comment I was very irritated with everything. While I may not like the traffic, or the few rude people I have had to deal with. I have met some awesome people here which makes living here a bit better. I love waking up and being able to see the mountains which is something that Michigan doesn't have. I am sorry for being an asshole in the first comment. I never meant to sound like a know it all. I am still holding on to hope that one day my bf and I will be able to move back home or at least somewhere close to Michigan. Anyhow take care and I hope you have an amazing 2016.
+Victoria Lathrop Please by all mean.....GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE! LOL seriously though
We do! Now shut up with your unhappy ass! Colorado rocks with or without your wimpy self
Be my guest, get out of Denver, I have lived in Denver all my life and every body here is nice, they don’t act higher up than other people
Move to Kansas City! Its want Denver was like 10 years ago.
The only thing Anthony Bourdain ever did here is visit a food cart. The only reason people live in Denver is because they can't get out.
The Ice cream place isn’t anything good, been there twice. I’ve never even heard of any of the other places either, not very popular like other places in Denver
I miss denver, but living in the United Kingdom is nice.
I live in Denver and yea I've never even been to half these places. I'm sure they're great but these aren't really things Colorado is known for or anything
This makes Denver look like a Seattle-wannabe, minus the booming economy.
So much more to do in Denver than just this. What a shame.
Don’t listen to this video and go anywhere but denver. We have enough people. Trust me.
I just want to know where I can get good Mexican food at. Raza avisen porfas!
Drum and Bass will be huge again in Denver thanks to Language and Recon D&B!
This is NOT Denver ! I know, I live there's...
Haha not over developed and a one of the strongest music scenes in the country. What four years will do..
So, if you're not a hipster and you do not drink beer....skip the next 6 minutes.
A lot of people saying that this doesn't represent Denver but do not say what places that people should go visit instead.
Go to Fedz and grab your self some pinche machitos!
But can TRVE handle someone like me though???
Don’t go to little man ice cream. Longest line in the world outside of Disney world
This video doesn’t do Colorado any justice please remove it
Haha one thing to do is not come to Denver we don't want you guys here 🙃😂😂🙃
There is places that i did even know existed here in Denver
Don't come here it's horrible. Stay where you are these people are lying to you
no shut up too many people are COMING HERE
I will as born in Denver and still live there and this is not even Close to Denver and there are many things to do in Denver than that
What if you don’t drink?
Question, is everyone in Denver wearing a long beard and an annoying hipster?
Great spot! LOVE Little Man #icecream
I hate when Lakewood and Aurora trash try to hangout in downtown Denver.
