  • This is how to change the oil on your Triumph Street Twin. This may be very similar if not the same for other models and oil changes in general.
    Many Thanks

    Always fill the new oil filter before installing it. You want quick oil pressure. You can’t just hand tighten the oil filter on this design, you can’t get your hand around it. Using the filter socket is the way to do it. Usually after filter seal ring contacts the base, an additional 3/4 turn will do the job.

    Triumph recommend that you prefill the oil filter with new oil before fitting.

      True, you can do but its not an issue if you dont as it will self fill.

      @@maximusvr46 The engine runs without oil pressure until filter is filled.
      So there is a good reason to fill the filter before fitting.

      @@ovegustafsson1791haynes manual also tells you to fill the engine with oil before fitting the new oil filter to avoid creating an Air lock between the oil pump and the filter.

    looks like someone over tightened your oil filter ;looking forward to doing mine with the center stand which should help with access ,i think triumph should have made access a bit easier .

    the oil filter should only be hand tight? the one you took off here was way way tighter than that. ditto w/ the oil drain plug...just a bit more than hand tight?

    • @maximusvr46
      @maximusvr46  2 роки тому

      Yes its was tight i even said that in the clip lol! Drain plug usually torque to spec or nicely nipped.

    I’ve asked this of a few videos can you actually see the oil level through the sight glass? I can’t see it at all😮

    • @maximusvr46
      @maximusvr46  Рік тому +1

      Yes if the correct amount of oil is in the engine then you will see the oil in the sight glass. The bike has to be standing upright, not on the side stand.
