@@ctony thank you! I read this like 100 times because it was my first time removing my battery. Kept it on street last winter and rode for 2 months and then battery died. Mechanic knew I kept on street without charging it. Just got it out and hopefully get it back together next march
For you riders in the States, I couldn't find a replacement for the OE Yuasa YTX B-12 battery in my T120, which lasted an amazing five and a half years. Even Chaparral Motorsports is out of them. Turns out the B-12 from the Batteries and Bulbs store is identical to the Yuasa, and may even be made by the same manufacturer.
In the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, I have just changed the battery after six years and two months. I think that the battery would have kept going, but for the Motorada (BMW part which the dealer had fitted new and replaced three times) Satellite Navigation unit. The worst thing that I have ever bought. Anyway, my Triumph Bonneville T100 is now ready to go.
I just had my Street Scrambler towed home tonight due to a dead battery. Less than 560 miles on the OD. I always keep it on a trickle charger. This has been an ongoing issue with the bike. Not sure why. The dealership is giving me a new battery tomorrow. Thanks for the video.
@@nickbursey7684 I installed a Motobatt and it started right up. Even though the load and volt tests were okay, the dealership service writer still thought the battery was defective. He offered to replace it with another Yusa and I declined.
@@revd4461 I have a 2017 Street Twin with 69000 quilometers on the clock also fitted with an Yusa battery (from factory). It is still going strong. I keep it on a trickle charger since a year ago, but I ride the bike A LOT. I do not know for how long you have your bike, but batteries tend to work best when normally charged. Other issue might well be a defect on the battery.
@@RicardoSilva-qp4bb I always kept it on a trickle charger. According a tech at the dealership, they did not keep the battery properly maintained when the bike was in the showroom.
Why speed up the video when you are actually taking the battery out after you gave so much detail and close up of the tool and installing the terminals.
Hey, always do the negative first!
I´ll do the replacement tomorrow. So Do I have to disconnect the negative first and the reconnect the negative first? Thanks!!
@@mauriciomesa6065 Negative first when removing. Negative last when adding the new battery.

@@ctonyyeah the negative is earthed to frame and other metal parts.
Too easy to short the positive and weld a spanner to your frame 😮
Almost! Please remove negative terminal first, then remove positive terminal. You got it right on reinstalling though. Positive first, then negative.
Thanks for this vid. Got my bike up and running now.
Thank you … my OEM battery just died on my 2016 Triumph Street Twin. Appreciate tutorial.
5 years must be common on 2016 models, here for the same reason!
@@pauljamieson4409 My 2016 battery still works, but will replace it anyway.
Beautiful bike, thorough video. Thank you!
Very clean bike! Wow, two years and your tires still look new
Only 4k .... living in london and catching tube to work so not a lot of opportunity to ride...but we move out soon. To Surrey😎

Thanks for the tips..tricky getting that control unit out!
My Triumph Bonneville T100 Black is the best touring Motorcycle ever. Why did Triumph make the battery replacement so difficult?

Gutted! Maybe a dud battery with a dead cell?

@@revd4461 Time for a new battery under warranty in that case. 👍
Very helpful video thank you
How’s the battery working now
Very well....no complaints
Thanks for this video!!!
Its a shame you show it wrong ...undo the negatif FIRST ! REinstall it and then its positif first....
True and have learned...thnks However, no problems ;)
@@nickbursey7684 Yes no pb if your screwdriver does not touch the + and the chassis (connected to the mass) in the same time 😅

You can't download it in one part. But you can subscribe to the online one. Or buy the Haynes manual.
