@@Rubberduckzillas normally i fire them frontally, depends on the speed but the average is when the enemy is coming hot and the marker says 1.40/1.50km, from the back i dont remmember
@@TARmeow From the back it should be around 0.4 - 0.5 km if both you and the opponent were fast.

Oddly enough Rossini’s William Tell overture fits war thunder perfectly, the ever quickening descent into what feels like chaos and madness.
Don't worry your first match couldn't be as bad as my first Ki200. "Took off" as I got down the run way, nose tipped and it exploded, killing a mig15 teammate nearby and put me at -14k
I had that happen to me a few months ago, except I was in the La-200 and a teammate in the a 163 just spontaneously exploded next to me

Nope I can beat it. 1st match with a Meteor, and pulled back too quickly, expecting it to take off like a spitfire. Exploded, taking out a teammate who was next to me

This guy enjoying Top tier, the true definition of fun
For 1v1s, I love to preset the nozzles to full vertical, cut throttle, pull diagonal up, and the second that the VTOL kicks in push full throttle and snaproll into the hover mode. Works phenomenally with the R-60s, and is consistent when you get the hang of it. Fun, too.

I'm only tier two and don't get to play all the time cause of medical school, but for those 4 hours or so a week, I'm having a blast. Some matches are really bad, some are really good. I think too many people are focused on grinding to get the next plane rather than enjoying what they have in their inventory.
I mean it makes sense when you think about it, what are you gonna do after you get that plane? get more planes? it never ends

Im newish to high tier planes, how were you getting so many accurate kills with dumbfire rockets? Were they proximity based?
They are distance fused, I set them with a 1000 meter fuse and then depending on the br and velocity of the plane head on I will launch it from 1.40km to 1.60km (also I have about 5500 hours but believe me with these rockets it's all about practice.

what settings do you use on your missiles and how far do you shoot them ?
i set my rockets with a fuze of 1000 meters and fire them when the enemy hits 1.50km
I got this plane unlocked yesterday and I like it I plan to use 3 r60 rockets and either a gun pod or rocket pod

Might be a late comment but I'm wondering about those proxy-fused dumb fire rockets, what rockets are those? S-24B? And if so, did they removed the proxy fuse from them?
they arent, and never were, proxy-fused, instead they are distance fused which means i set them to explode after traveling 1000 meters, when they reach that distance they explode, how to aim them you might ask? well you simply practice to see when the timing is right, depends on your air speed, the enemies air speed and if you two are in a head on or not

How long did it take to get that far into the tree? Ive been playing for like 2-3 weeks and am almost through tier 2 but I heard the grind on this game is painful but I haven't experienced it
Well honestly it's kind of hard but if you focus on grinding Ge and then buy a GE premium it might be easier than actually grinding the tech tree
I've been playing for something like 5 years, and got to 5000 wins a few days ago.......well, i'm using a ftp account and not even to top tier in one single nation. Unless you want to stick to low tier, i fear that if you want jets you'll have to play (or pay lol) quite a lot
