Steve Yedlin explained that if the camera can capture enough data, color science doesn’t matter if you know how to command the post pipeline. Otherwise, out of camera color science seems best with Arri, Red, Fuji, Canon imo.

Because of color accuracy I was going to buy the apple 6k xdr studio display to go with Mac Studio m1 ultra but is their much difference in color accuracy with the 6k xdr display vs the max studio 5k display ? I will be color grading using davinchi resolve 18

both displays will give you accurate color. If you don't need HDR you're better off with the 5K display IMO

@@carlosq00 i can have a 5k studio and can check hdr color with iPad near by so I can see what it will look like in hdr right ?

@@carlosq00 why would one need hdr ? Hdr is what majority of ppl view video on such as their iPad And iPhones so I was thinking go the 5k studio and get a ipad 12.9 which is hdr as reference to make sure there is not a color difference with the 5k studio after color grading in davinchi . The 5k studio colors should match the color on the iPad 12.9 hdr . What do you think?

It's funny you mentioned skintones when Arri prioritizes skintones more so than RED does.

which monitor are you watching the video and on top of that 90% ( if it's not more) of people watching videos online ((streaming)) and as you know how most platforms compressing the videos quality ,,, so if it's Raw or Log or no picture profile it doesn't matter any more ....even netflix is online and when you streaming the videos is not 100% 4k .. and when you watch it from LG or Samsung or Sony TV it will make different coz not all the brands are the same colors .. so color science in this point is LOST ...i mean i seen some iphone videos looks better than RED ((on youtube))

kind of what I said in the video, but also added that the color and imaging pipeline that matters most is the baked in looks that we can get from the various camera companies because they allow us to increase our volume...blah, blah, blah...
