I spent 2 days this week working in my kitchen. Decluttered cabinets, wiped down inside and out. Cleaned walls with Zep wall cleaner. Wiped down ceiling fan. Cleaned window. Took down curtains and washed. Wiped down kitchen table and chairs with Murphy's Oil. Wiped down trash can. Wipe off all appliances. Wiped down counters and back splash. Wash all my glasses that are special but don't use regularly. It looks so nice. The dust was crazy.
I totally understand about the suits. I just started decluttering my walk in closet. I was a Manager for Walmart for years and still had all my clothes from that. I just got rid of three huge garbage bags of clothes. I started to go through them but decided to just bite the bullet and donate everything. Love my closet now
I know that feeling when you finally make some big decisions to finally remove something from your home after working around it for so long. I had been decluttering since March of this year. Just boxed it up and kept putting the boxes in our add on. Kind of like a 3-season porch, but with shiplap walls and carpet and real furniture, not porch furniture. We don't spend a lot of time out there but would maybe spend more if it wasn't a dumping ground for various things. Well, I hit it hard 2 days ago and anything that didn't get donated or disposed of, was put out into our enclosed gazebo to decide what we will do with it in the Spring. I gained so much room and the big elephant in the room, the boxes of donations, finally got brought to the thrift store. We have one in our town, but they have a tendency to want to pick through your stuff and I don't appreciate that. Number one, it's free to them and number two, I don't donate junk. Anyhow, it's gone now and all I have to do is finish dusting and vacuum the area. Your basement is looking great and I am jealous of all of your extra stock. Kudos to you.
I hate when they try to look over my stuff,I don’t donate junk either! If it’s just clothes or shoes,I prefer the large metal bins they have in parking lots,I just stick them in and don’t feel like I have to talk them into taking it!😵💫🙄😖
I am always so inspired by you. I have been working on updating our home for a year now. I am disabled but taking your advice to do a little at a time has changed my life. Thank you souch for all you share.❤😊
Hi Jodi 👋 yep I remember your basement declutter. Yes. I do the same thing when I can't get to the donation place. The local Goodwill closed and sold it's space. There's a small thrift store but. I try to take my stuff to a big goodwill when I can which means remembering to put in car the day before (2hour drives to drs) and then forcing myself to drop it off. 😆 Alcohol. In future you can donate it to a local veterans , eagles, moose facility to help them save on their costs. I'm prepping for 26 DEC surgery to repair the implant battery pack. The painful shocks will stop then. So. Not a lot of projects getting started. Trying to pre make foods etc. 2+ weeks after surgery no lifting, pushing, pulling or squatting which basically means doido anything. 😢. So my sewing is being placed where I can reach it before I go. I have a lot of food allergies so I don't ask for food help. Channukah is over this evening so clean up will begin after Sabbath...on Sunday. EDIT: Jodi it looks great now. Love the idea for the vases/pots and the trays. I admit to being surprised that you didn't put that picnic table out back for the grands. Only 1 bag of trash! Woo hoo! 3 loads to giveaway and headway made on former attachments...NICE! JODI- have a great week!
I think you need to write an advice book with all the wonderful positive quotes you give. Or a playlist of the so I can listen on repeat. Your spend a small amount of time has helped me so much.
Dear Jodi, your basement is my dream 😂 living for day when I am going to have that kind of organization and collect my favorite cleaning products on shelves.
2 years Wow Yes I remember the first basement declutter. You've come a long way baby! I'm still going through physical therapy for my ankle. I am goal setting for next year and reflecting on my progress this year.
I'm working on my office/craft room since weeks. Got some new furniture which is finally all set up now. I went through all my books. Sorted about half of them out. (Some already went to a free book shelf, others will go to a thrift store). I scanned in old papers from school and old jobs that I had kept for sentimental reasons. I went through my craft supply. Next job will be my fabric hoard. And digitalizing pictures. All in all lots of stuff already got donated, several cartons of paper for recycling have been filled and lots of unusable stuff has been thrown away. Feels good.
awesome! i donated 1/2 my christmas things this year. i just dont have energy and most family has passed away. and i have had my gallbladder removed. Its responsible for digesting fats you eat, so my dr. said i should take 1 capsule of enzymes to support gut. i take NOW brand super enzymes because i was having digestive issues months after my surgery. no longer having issues.
I was for sure here for that first basement video. You have come SO far and I love that even after we declutter, there is always more. I am living that here at the house right now as well. And you are right about the selling on FB marketplace. It is time-consuming, and it also is one of those places where people are super flaky. So it makes you not want to bother. When I have the time and don't feel overwhelmed by the amount of clothing I am getting rid of, I will sell on like mercury or Poshmark. However, the clothing has to sit here until it sells, and honestly, I just want the mess gone when the time comes. I totally get you when you are in that mode.
Jodi, May I recommend long, low rolling wood “trays” for the floor under those shelves? Then you can pull them out when you need to. If you or your hubby are diy-ers, you might want to make it yourselves. 😊
Hi, Jodi, it’s my first time commenting on your channel 🤗 and I’m watching your latest video. My grandson still has the DS I gave him when he was in third grade. Now he’s in his second year of college and still plays it from time to time.
We bought a bowflex and treadmill. They are in the spare room in the basement. That's led to an entire storage area clean out. Which I'm in the middle of. Spent the last 2 afternoons on the spare room. Today (well from 11 am) I'm attacking the freezer storage area. On my 4th garbage bag as of now. And 3/4s of the room is done. Took a five minute break to watch you for more motivation....
I had big plans for just regular cleaning but my son came into town. Then I ended up having my Granddaughter here unexpectedly for the week. During the day all these things came up. I’m like what happened to my peaceful days?? 😂 seriously it has been great having them here. ~ Janet 😘
Really great pointed out…sometimes we aren’t ready to declutter something so storing it somewhere for a few mos or a few yrs is a great plan. Bc “time will tell” & before u know it ur no longer attached to it!!❤ love the girls’ sweatshirts!! great vid!! 🥰
I hope Gracyn continues to feel better and better. But, more time with the grandbabies is awesome! I love the sweatshirts. We're working on cleaning out Aidan's room (cause he left a ton of stuff that he apparently no longer wants) and we're turning it into a craft room... then, we'll invest in one of those machines.
Girl. I just got back from a 10-day Caribbean cruise, which is not bad. The bad part was i had my tile flooring removed (cause I failed) and put in luxury laminate. Supposedly, the contractor had my house cleaned, but when I opened drawers, there was so much dust. Plus, I came back sick so far it has taken 4 days to get a corner completed. 😅
Glad your hubby is feeling better. You did an amazing job. I saw your first declutter and felt overwhelmed for you. Hope Gracyn feels better. I had a c- section and 7 weeks later had my gallbladder removed, that was almost ten years ago. What an amazing family. Donna looks so much older from the first videos. What a blessing God has given us, our husband and children . Hope your family has an amazing time at Christmas 🎁❤🙂
Thank you so much Bobbie 🤗 Oh my goodness 2 surgeries that close together. Wow you are a tough lady ❤️❤️ Yes I agree so many blessing to have a family!
Hello Jodi. WOW!!!!! What an awesome job. Looks so organized. I'm working on decluteing my Christmas stuff I haven't used in years. Feels good. I'm glad to read that Hubs is feeling better. Family is always first. Hope your daughter heals fast. Surgery is scary, nothing to mess around with. Thanks for inviting us into your home. Your the best.
Thank you Nancy 🤗🤗 Yes he’s completely fine now thank goodness and Gracyn is feeling better and better every day ❤️❤️ Yay for decluttering Christmas decor 👏👏
Hey Jodi! Good job! Garages & Basements are always a work in progress!! Hubby and I have been working on decluttering the garage ….. again! We got rid of a lot whole garage can full of stuff we didn’t need and wasn’t worth donating. Also bought a small shed, hubby had to build it and we were organizing ghat. Took all the yard tools and paint from garage and put it in there.
I love basement declutters because really everyone has/had a messy basement in their recent past 😂 once the holidays start my boyfriend and I also have planned to tidy up ours, because it's very messy right now. Luckily, it's a small space and shouldn't take too long.
I’m in move decluttering mode bcuz I’m moving in with my daughter and son in law to help out them. It’s interesting trying to figure out what will go to which of my 3 children and what I’ll keep with the new living arrangements ❤
Oh! Yes! I was with the first time and girl you really worked hard!! You did really good!? Now you have got most of what you wanted to do in much shorter time. Plus labeling everything is going to make you life so much easier!!
wonderful job Jodi, decluttering is not easy and good to do it alone : my kids & hubby finds it tough to let go LOL : so no question of doing it with my kids or hubs ; I like to be a minimalist ; one year after I cleaned his office walk- in closet I sent him a picture with caption ," there is a carpeted floor!" he was at work and he said he laughed so hard folks around him wanted to know the reason LOL!!
Looks great! I remember day 1 that you were working on your basement I love seeing the growth when it comes to decluttering. It was so hard for you to let go, and now you're like, "Get it outta here" 😂 I'm doing a deep house clean today before guests start coming for the holidays. I'm glad to hear Grayson and the hubs are feeling better. Have an amazing day😊
Awesome job Jodi! I was here when you started your declutter and yes, you have gotten rid of so much! I worked on a closet this week and it was amazing how much I had in that small space! I also helped a girl scout troop out by donating craft supplies which made me start in my crafting area! I am glad your husband is feeling better! I hope you have a great week!
I love decluttering! I do it often enough where I don’t have a lot anymore but now that my girls are getting older, we are decluttering their things that they’ve outgrown physically and mentally.
Omygosh! I had my gallbladder out in October (emergency) and my daughter had hers out in November (non emergency but necessary). How crazy is that? I’ll pray for your daughter’s recovery and healing. My daughter did very well with recovery but I took longer. The basement looks awesome. We have been doing all light fixtures and washing all the curtains as we prepare to host Christmas. Have a great holiday!
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 I’m so glad she is feeling better. And mostly I am glad she won’t have that pain from the gallbladder ever again! That was awful pain.
Our house has been in a constantly shifting state of renovation, decluttering and moving stuff from room to room or the garage as we worked on each space for the past 18 months. Today it was finally organised and tidy enough to get a cleaner in to do a deep clean for me. It was amazing and I feel so happy tonight. We recently purchased a new (2nd) business and I have been working 8-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, on admin and bookkeeping, leaving me too tired to clean. We have donated and sold a lot of stuff in the past 6 months, but I am keen to keep whittling away at our stuff. It’s always easier to let things go the 2nd or 3rd time you come across it on your decluttering journey. Now I’m just hoping to find the time. We have 2 weeks off over Christmas and when we start back in early January, I hope to be caught up on all of the customers and bookwork that were behind when we took the business over so I can have time to work around the house and get back to some of my hobbies.
My husband retired about a month ago so I’ve been watching a lot of budgeting/cash stuffing videos lately! Your videos were the first ones I watched! I’ve learned a lot that’s for sure!
Oh congratulations to your husband Lisa! That’s very exciting. I love watching cash stuffing videos too. Doing it has really helped me and I keep thinking if I want to bring back my videos
Hi Jodi. Been they all your decluttering video. My son dad passed away in April. His grandmother 2 years ago. So we got a whole house in Florida. To clean out. I told him after the new year. We will get down there.
Hi Jodi ❤ I finally finished decorating for Christmas, but I'm still working on deep cleaning my kitchen 😂 I loved the designs you picked for the girls sweatshirts ❤
Great job decluttering it looks fantastic! Great motivation for me to work on some basement decluttering. I love your comments about not forcing yourself to let things go when you’re not ready. I think that attitude helps make decluttering a positive experience. Not sure if I saw you put your dining table leaves on the shelf in the basement, but you may want to take care that they aren’t in the direct light under the window or over time it may bleach the wood and make it discolored. I have had that happen to me with a dresser in my basement and it made me sad I didn’t catch it sooner.
You are so totally INSPIRATIONAL! Thanks for your videos. P.S. I sent you a little something for your plant propagation but Amazon never showed it as delivered. If you didn't get it, please drop me a reply so I can contact the company that was supposed to send it. Merry Christmas!!!!
Thank you Jodi. New sub. I found this video so helpful. Your voice is so easy to listen to, that it feels like I'm able to get a few little bits done with you. Much respect. You've done a brilliant job decluttering Huge respect to your husband for isolating with covid, bless him. Sadly my partner simply came home unwell from working away for a week, said he wasn't well but couldn't be bothered to test for covid before coming in and staying in the home. My little boy and I were so so unwell. I have cancer, so it hit me super hard, while trying to look after a little one who was also unwell with covid. He could have stayed elsewhere in a different place but couldn't be bothered. Love the snowflake tops you made. You are so talented. Thank you for sharing x
Hi, Jodi! Great job on the basement. Love the sweatshirts you designed. Beautiful! Donna Jean looks so cute. I am working on downsizing my Christmas decor for my granddaughters. I thought since I don’t use it they will love it for their decorating. I also pared down my Fall decor for them too. Hope your family has a blessed holiday. Hugs from your southern Michigan neighbor!🎄💜🥰👍
Miss you Tuesday but im off today and watching your videos and hopefully your daughter will get better soon .thanks for sharing ❤❤ happy holidays to allof your family. GOD blessed ❤❤❤❤😊
So glad you were able to help your daughter, my gosh, surgery with two little ones. The basement looks great and now you can find things. I have always wanted a Cricut, might ask for one from the family. I was the one who couldn’t walk 3 weeks ago because of bad knees. The one that really hurts is in better condition than the other one which is bone on bone and they both have bone spurs. Went from crawling, to wheelchair but now I have started PT and use a walker with a seat. I haven’t been able to babysit my granddaughter for 3 weeks, now it is Christmas break for two weeks. I get to start watching her January 2nd. I will do Christmas and I can vacuum, do laundry, and clean. Also I can cart stuff around with my walker including my granddaughter, was able to give her a bath the other day when her mom had stuff at school in the evening. I missed the no Tuesday video notice and wondered, even sent a question to instagram. My best to Grayson and her recovery. Thank you for this video, you are so lucky to have a basement!🙂
Mary I’m so glad physical therapy is helping and you are moving around more! That is great news. I bet you missed having your granddaughter those 3 weeks. Oh I’ll go check Instagram. I bet your message went to my spam folder. I often forget to check it 🤦♀️
Great job Jodi! I love to watch you organize because I like to organize too. I agree it’s better to do big tasks in increments because then you start fresh again and do a better job. I decluttered some of my couponing items today by donating them and now my basement looks better too! I sometimes wish I were a minimalist.😂
Please tell your daughter if she has stomach issues for a couple months chances are they'll go away. I was so stressed after having mine removed last year. I was so worried and now back to normal minus all the gallbladder issues. Basement looks great.
I am finally decluttering the last room of our house. Just like you said.. small chunks at a time. Enjoyed the video. You did a great job. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Wow Jodie, you got so much done. I think I started decluttering my home about the same time you did. I need to go back thru as you said, it's a never ending process. I have been in a funk lately and trying to get out of it. Thanks for inspiring me to get up and get something done. ❤
Great job on the cleanup. I have way too many bins of Christmas decor and I try every year to maybe get rid of one bin full…but omg it’s so hard! I don’t even display it all 😂😂😂 Maybe this year, after Christmas, will be the year LOL
I have been watching your viddeos for around a year now & thoroughly enjoy them & look forward to all the new ones! You are very inspiring! I hope to get some decluttering done soon. Thank you for all your videos!!!😊
Hey Jodi! I just love seeing what's going on in your basement. Good job letting go of more stuff you haven't used in a year! I like how you arranged your home decor options on the shelf. Smart move!
You inspire me every week!! In January I’m going to repaint our living room/dining room/kitchen-lavender & green! So, I’m decluttering this month first! Thank you!! ❤

Does that Zep cleaner work well ?
Yes! Wiping down the ceiling fan! Must do soon.
Wow Jayne you got so much done 👏👏👏👏
Yes Zep wall cleaner works great! Doesn't leave a residue. It does have a strong smell.
Wow, fantastic 👏🏻
I love the philosophy that there's no right or wrong way... there's only right or wrong *for you*

I was there for the first declutter of the basement!

Dear Jodi, your basement is my dream 😂 living for day when I am going to have that kind of organization and collect my favorite cleaning products on shelves.
I feel like my basement was customized for a couponer 😂😂
Nothing I did, it was here when we moved in and I sure am grateful for it ❤️❤️
I was here when you decluttered this area the first time - way to go- so close to 20k

I watched the very first one and I was hooked. Love a good decluttering video
I am in the process of decluttering my kitchen. It is amazing what you can accumulate in 60 years...
Oh yes Lisa it sure is. Way to go getting it started 🤗❤️
Great job done. It looks a lot better. It will be easier to find what you want

Oh! Yes! I was with the first time and girl you really worked hard!! You did really good!? Now you have got most of what you wanted to do in much shorter time. Plus labeling everything is going to make you life so much easier!!
wonderful job Jodi, decluttering is not easy and good to do it alone : my kids & hubby finds it tough to let go LOL : so no question of doing it with my kids or hubs ; I like to be a minimalist ;
one year after I cleaned his office walk- in closet I sent him a picture with caption ," there is a carpeted floor!" he was at work and he said he laughed so hard folks around him wanted to know the reason LOL!!
Looks great! I remember day 1 that you were working on your basement I love seeing the growth when it comes to decluttering. It was so hard for you to let go, and now you're like, "Get it outta here" 😂
I'm doing a deep house clean today before guests start coming for the holidays.
I'm glad to hear Grayson and the hubs are feeling better. Have an amazing day😊
OMG! So inspiring! Made me get up and start decluttering! Watching you makes me think I can do it too!😊
You can do it Karrie. I’m cheering you on 👏🥳
Awesome job Jodi!
Jodi’s has entered her ruthless era 😂
Oh my gosh it’s a totally different feeling Amanda 😂 and I like it ❤️
I love decluttering! I do it often enough where I don’t have a lot anymore but now that my girls are getting older, we are decluttering their things that they’ve outgrown physically and mentally.
Love it Jennifer ❤️❤️
Oh wow!! I hope you are both feeling better now 🙏❤️
It’s been almost 2 weeks for Gracyn and she feels really good now 😊
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 I’m so glad she is feeling better.
Tracey that is WONDERFUL you hired someone to deep clean! You’ve been working so hard you deserve it ❤️❤️❤️
My husband retired about a month ago so I’ve been watching a lot of budgeting/cash stuffing videos lately! Your videos were the first ones I watched! I’ve learned a lot that’s for sure!
Oh congratulations to your husband Lisa! That’s very exciting. I love watching cash stuffing videos too. Doing it has really helped me and I keep thinking if I want to bring back my videos
@@jodidunnmymessylife1847 I think that would be awesome! I’m here for anything you put out! 😁
Amazing job, Lady! It looks great!👏
Thank you so much Judy ❤️❤️
Hi Jodi. Been they all your decluttering video. My son dad passed away in April. His grandmother 2 years ago. So we got a whole house in Florida. To clean out. I told him after the new year. We will get down there.
Hi Joyce 🤗
Oh I’m sure that won’t be super fun but maybe will have some good weather
Good idea Christmas presents. I would have love one 😊
Hi Jodi ❤ I finally finished decorating for Christmas, but I'm still working on deep cleaning my kitchen 😂
I loved the designs you picked for the girls sweatshirts ❤
Hi Bianca 🤗 yay for decorating done 👏 boo for more cleaning 😂 it never ends though right.
Hi Jennifer 🤗
Thank you so much for sharing. Yes I did put them by the window. However they are covered with by the table pads ❤️
Oh my gosh Holly that is so sweet of you. I haven’t checked my PO BOX recently so I’ll check it today and let you know ❤️
I put a UPS tracker on it, so hopefully it will turn up soon.🤷♀️
Hi Tara 🤗 thank you so much.
Oh no I’m so sorry you both got sick. I hope you are both feeling both and I’m sending you lots of prayers 🙏
Awesome video Jodi! So motivating 😃
Thank you Susan 🤗
Hi Jodi…found you after your 1st basement declutter but what I’ve seen since has been amazing!! 😊
Hi Barbara 🤗 thank you so much
Wonderful job, Jodi! I am in the process of decluttering my basement also. Hope mine looks that good when I am done. 🙂
Yay Ann. Sending you all the decluttering good vibes ❤️
Noreen the thought has crossed my mind before and I quickly said nope no minimalism for me 😂
So Great
I remember when you cleaned out your basement. You got rid of so much. I have been watching you for almost two years.
Appreciate you Sheree 🤗
Loveeeee this channel ❤❤❤❤ Jodi I just decluttered my scarf collection, while watching this video ❤❤❤❤ TYSM ❤❤❤❤❤

Another great job for a Very busy Lady.
Thank you Carolyn 🤗
Please tell your daughter if she has stomach issues for a couple months chances are they'll go away. I was so stressed after having mine removed last year. I was so worried and now back to normal minus all the gallbladder issues. Basement looks great.
Thank you so much for sharing that! She has been worried and that will help sharing with her ❤️
LOVE the sweatshirts. and they can make school shirts for prep rally's and events , so very cool.. :)
I hope Grayson heals well. 🙏

Wow Jodie, you got so much done. I think I started decluttering my home about the same time you did. I need to go back thru as you said, it's a never ending process. I have been in a funk lately and trying to get out of it. Thanks for inspiring me to get up and get something done. ❤
Hi Jo 🤗 yes decluttering funks are real. I’m sending you all the positive vibes ❤️
Your video was well worth the wait. Thank you! I just love your decluttering videos.
Thank you Kristy 🤗🤗

Great job on the cleanup. I have way too many bins of Christmas decor and I try every year to maybe get rid of one bin full…but omg it’s so hard! I don’t even display it all 😂😂😂
Maybe this year, after Christmas, will be the year LOL
Sharon it is so hard!! Christmas decor is one thing I really need to go through too
