- The Gawain, is a prototype Knightmare Frame privately developed by the Zevon Family. It is unusual in that it is approximately 50% taller and more than twice as heavy as most other Knightmares, and features a double-seater cockpit, although it can be piloted by just one person. It also doesn't seem to feature Factspheres or an identifiable ejection system. However, the creation of the Gawain allowed Britannia to develop Knightmares based on it such as the Gareth and the Galahad. Similarly, the Black Knights produced their own Knightmare based on the Gawain, the Shinkiro, for Zero's personal use.
The Gawain is equipped with a prototype integrated Float System, making it capable of sustained flight. It is the first Knightmare to utilize a Float System, as well as the first machine to utilize Hadron weaponry. Its fingers are miniature Slash Harkens, and it features a pair of shoulder-mounted Hadron Cannons, which can emit continuous streams of destructive energy over prodigious ranges. The Knightmare is initially incomplete, and its Hadron Cannons fire erratically due to its blooming effect. The unit is perfected by the Black Knights' scientific mastermind, Rakshata Chawla, who uses her Gefjun Disturber technology to gain control of the Hadron Cannons' erratic firepower. As a side benefit, the Disturber's natural disruption properties also render the Gawain invisible to radar. Its experimental Druid System, originally intended to investigate the structure and function of the Thought Elevators, allows the Gawain to plot the probable movements of enemy units, and mark it as a powerful commander unit. Despite its strengths, the Gawain is a fairly slow unit, and as such is easily outmaneuvered by smaller, faster Knightmares, which can be clearly seen when the Gawain and Cornelia's Gloucester fought in battle at the Black Rebellion.

The Knightmare that constantly asserts dominance with the T-pose.
For real though, the fact that C.C. was able to make Gawain even throw a punch is impressive, considering it's arm range is a bit off.

I love the Gawain. I think it made a better impact than Lelouche’s next knighmare.
Things got powercrept by s2. Frames started flying, beam weapons left and right, speeds going crazy.
A sitting duck only works if it's like a god on Olympus watching over everybody else (like lelouch always does to be the main tactician).
Gen 8 (i think?) frames like Albion and seiten 8 just aren't for lelouch and he knows he ain't hard carry.

@@carlorielmendez6505 ofcourse, it was a protoype to decide the next generation of kmfs, its flight technology was implemented into basically all suits, its hadron tech was implemented into lancelot air cavalry, and the Modred to say the least, and its druid system was implemented into the shinkiro. it is the reason half the s2 frames are as good as they are. It's impact is huge and clear to see.

After the Gawain’s demise- much of its technology were developed even further by the Britannian Forces and the Black Knights…
The DRUID System was somehow successfully re-developed and armed in the Black Knights’ Knightmare Frame Shinkiro
The Float System were armed on all factions’ KMFs
And while the OG Gawain Hadron Cannons were armed as main battery cannons of the Black Knights Warship Ikaruga, the Hadron Cannon Technology were improved even further

Probably has far less radiation compared to the radiant wave surger blast/ beams or something.
Gawain's beams (or any hadron cannon/ hadron based weapons in this case) don't have the bubbling effect on KMFs or other vehicles.. (for example, the Gun-Ru Units and Tanks in the base assault scene.)
They vaporize them in a super heated stream of energy. (I suppose) yadda yadda
Rakshata is evil, like that. Haha😅 (for creating radiation weapons, I mean.) Just look how Guilford's custom Vincent got fried by the thing.

This suit was so OP for its time.
Shit was basically a Knight of the Round before they were even a thing.
But it's also OP because Zero was riding on it.

好みの問題があると思いますが、僕はこの後継機の蜃気楼の方が好きです。ガウェインもいいのですが、蜃気楼の方は、コンパクトになっているところとゴテゴテしてないですから。

Depends on which version. Personally I'd say Albion pwns Aerial, mostly because it's smaller size would make it harder to hit. But just OG Lancelot will die.
(Knightmares are usually 6m, Mobile Suits are 18m)
A better comparison would be Gundam X vs Gawain, or Double X vs Gawain. Seeing as both mechs have big ass death lasers as its main weapon.
