    I've just printed this pattern and added it to my pending folder, although saying that I will most probably make it before I've finished what I'm working on right now. Thanks for another great video Clare.

    I use RH Soft all the time. It's one of my favorite yarns. It's labeled as worsted weight, although it's probably between a DK and a heavier worsted.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  8 років тому +2

      I agree with you, its defiantly not a worsted, it is almost the same as our DK yarn :)

    • @belantww
      @belantww 8 років тому +2

      +bobwilson123 Yeah, they have this system for sizing yarn here in the US which isn't very accurate. Under this system, both Red heart Super Saver and Red Heart Soft are both categorized as 4-Medium. I don't know if you've ever worked with Caron Simply Soft, but it's even thinner than RH Soft, and is also categorized as 4-Medium. This makes no sense, and it makes it very hard to switch yarns when working a pattern. Lousy system. Lol.

      Yes you can use the hdc stitch, the base will be smaller because the hdc stitch is shorter. You might need to add more rows :)

    I have a question. I am Tunisian crocheting and it is rolling . How do I stop it from rolling? I used a bigger hook than the yarn asked for. Help !!!

    • @belantww
      @belantww 8 років тому

      Tunisian crochet is supposed to roll up. After you're done, try blocking the piece so it lays flat.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  8 років тому

      Hello, as Maribel said it does roll up, I do nto have much experience with Tunisian crochet sorry

    • @jo-anne8111
      @jo-anne8111 8 років тому +1

      I love Tunisian and if you can on some projects if you put a separate normal crochet border this can help as it pulls the work out obviously this won't work with every project but I've done lap blankets and the border stopped the roll up but it does roll up its the nature of the stitch. : )

    I made one doing the middle (chain 20) and I did exactly what you did on the video, 2 Dbc around, then chain 3 and then 1 dbc for 11 rows total. It came out horrible! The opening was HUGE! Even when I single cr around - then I even tried decreasing around.. but it was just too big! I watched your video over and over.. I did exactly what you did except for doing 20 chain instead of 15. Don't know what happened, I spent hours working on it! So frustrated.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  7 років тому

      Oh no Dawna, how frustrating
      Can you decrease every 2nd or third stitch around for a few rounds ? I know on hats people accidentally do 2 rounds of the doing the 2 dc in each stitch instead of just one round. Check to see if this is what happened

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  7 років тому +1

      Hello, yes you can use 1 strand of yarn :) You will need a crochet hook that is recommended for the yarn you chose

  • @rickilieberman2136
    @rickilieberman2136 8 років тому

    Zi love the big hook, but I want to give it to my son who shops for me! If I use smaller hook will it be strong enough for him to take to the market and pack groceries? What do you advice for yarn size and hook size. I prefer to use I strand and not 2. But worried about strength. I also want to use Cotten for strength! Ricki🤗

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  8 років тому

      Yes I would use a smaller hook to help with stretching, it will be fine to put groceries in, I use mine for that and it is fine
      You may like to make the bag smaller than you need because it stretches
      I know you asked about another cluster bag and i cannot find that comment, so i will reply to you here

    How about picking the project up after each row to let us beginners know what it SHOULD look like. 😔 after the third row you were doing the handles 😦 I knew it was over for me

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  5 років тому +1

      after you have finished the 2nd round making 2 double crochets into each stitch you will then do all following rounds as 1 dc into each stitch. you will do this for as many rounds as you want your bag to be. make sure to count your stitches each round to make sure you have the same amount of stitches as you go. once your bag is as big as you want it to be you can start your handles. www.bobwilson123.org/big-bottom-bag.html
