I’m so excited I found your channel. I am an artist by profession and it helps so much with my studies. Thank you! Looking forward to watching new videos as well as catching up on the old ones.

Why do art history teachers always say kind of so many times?

I'm sorry but these lectures are poorly performed. U didn't mentioned Afghanistan at all while the islamic/persian miniatures stammes from Herat in Afghanistan. And also the mongol empire in india were influenced by Herat's art and culture. I guide U to see some of professor Michael Barry's lectures of islamic art and the renescience of the East which was happened in Herat.

If you were looking for an in-depth college level analysis of Western and Central Asian art then the AP art history curriculum (and, by extension, my lecture) is not going to give you what you're looking for. I'm flattered that you were expecting something even approaching the quality and thoroughness achieved by a septuagenarian professor at Princeton who specializes in Middle Eastern and Islamic art, but I just teach what the College Board says is relevant for the AP art history exam, and in the course and exam description (which is 384 pages long) Herat is never mentioned. Should it be? Probably. It sounds interesting and relevant, and I'd like to learn more (when I'm not busy teaching 5 AP classes during a pandemic) but that's something to take up with the College Board, not me. Have a nice day!

@@FleetsAPArtHistory understandable, i also said that because the history and civilisation of Afghanistan is in very big danger. Countries such iran has been stealling Afghanistan's history in the last 80 years due to the war in Afghanistan. U also can see this lecture of Afghanistan and it can help u more to understand what I meant about the country and cities such Balkh and Herat.

@@erinkearney5210 I also loved the response and had to google septuagenarian! Hahaha... As an 8th year art teacher, 2nd year APAH teacher feeling like a new teacher during this pandemic year, I am EXTREMELY thankful for these lectures because it helps me cut down and summarize my own slides for my students.
