Oh btw, the reason that the AI will sometimes refuse to form Spain is that it will only form it diplomatically, so the AI priority for forming it militarily is 0. I feel like there should be some fail-safe there, but there isn't.
Oh some more nuance; AI will actually form spain militarily, and gives higher priority to it than diplomatically (400 prio vs 200 prio for the diplo option). ARA and CAS however, have a condition that they will only prioritise military formation if they see the other as an enemy; so if the other doesn't exist, they can't see them as an enemy, and they won't click the button. Truly a case of PDX spaghetti.
I loved how Hadramut kept popping up everywhere, collecting random colonies while resisting every attempt to kill them. They lose India? Move to Korea. Lose Korea? Malacca is nice this time of year. The Arab trader spirit.

Wow, that was the greatest EU4 video I've ever seen. Spent last night watching half, watched the 2nd half this morning. Better than most movies, frankly. Haiti is the hero. I think the AI only forms Spain militarily if ARA and CAS are enemies. Bonkers. I wish they'd take a month cleaning out this game, like a wire-brush through an old tobacco pipe, before moving on to EU5, which I'm not sure I'm even going to play. I got 10 years with this one. Anyway, great vid - a classic.

Yeah, I mean I did still cut quite a few times when literally nothing was happening, it is down from around 8 hours of raw footage, but it is in a pretty niche spot for sure.

Wouldn’t it be funny to have a MP campaign with a few “cursed provinces”, like London was in this game, and see if/when players figure out what the cursed province is?
Loved this video. I found myself wishing the wipe was somewhat weighted so the top 3 powers were more likely to be deleted. That would make the top position swap more often and reduce the chance that new risers get deleted, which happened a few times. If you gave #1 a 3x chance and #2 & #3 a 2x chance, the rest would have a 1/12 chance to be deleted. Really fun commentary though, thanks for uploading.
You didn't quite get as lucky with the pauses as you might think xD The autosave happens on the 1. of January, so you get extra time to press the button while it saves
Great video. Haiti really took the reigns as the main character nation after their previous overlord was deleted. If you do something like this again in the future, I'm in support of tagging into countries solely for the purpose of forming nations to change their colors
I think the reason some tags come back after being removed is because they don't lose their cores on territory that has been conquered from them, and then rebels, HRE Unlawful Territory demands and war goal releases can revive them from those remnant cores.
You know, you could've just used numbers on your wheel, to prevent things like spelling mistakes, accidental mis-tagging, or other minor difficulties from occurring. Also be a bit less work for you ;)

They need to add 'remove country' as a CB that works the same as vassalization you cant do it if its too much WS but you can get WS modifiers to make it viable. Russia other religion WS + siberian frontiers + this would go crazy.
Just passed that close korea/france deletion, oh that was so close! I've been thinking how to make this fun and viable for a singleplayer and multiplayer runthrough, and I think deleting only odd or ranked great powers every 25 years would be so amazing to see. No one will want first spot, and they will have to give up land or conquer land fast to not end up on the 3rd, 5th and 7th great power ranks.
With MP, that may be an issue as it would hurt a lot to see your country deleted just by pure RNG. Imagine spending time to set up a tag, winning wars and then just losing everything to the wheel randomly.
@@LemonCake101 Nah, I didn't mean using the wheel, no rng, just deleting odd numbered great powers. Getting of the rng aspect will make it far more tactical and more prone to smart plays. And the MP wouldn't really be an actual campaign, more like a meme/crack campaign where you aim to have fun rather than min max.

Well, I wasn't tag switching (as if I was I would have 110% pressed the form Spain button for Aragon) I was using the observer mode setting that does not get rid of any AI bonuses in the process. I was initially thinking of putting 1-8 on the wheel, but that kind of ruins the suspense: instead of watching France almost get picked instead of Korea, you see something like oh 1 almost of got picked instead of 3 and then I go into the game to check who 1 was: instead you see right away who is on the chopping block as it where. Chapters would have been a neat to be fair too, that I will concede.

Just build enough heavies to get over the next great power, then build transports until you have 500, then delete them all. It's useless, but it's much easier to get.
To give Europeans the chance to colonize, why not tie Siberian Frontiers to the Renaissance institution? Or even Renaissance: +1 colonists; Printing Press: Siberian Frontier
@LemonCake101 you see I thought about it, problem is that most if not all trade nodes have more dev than Lhasa and even if you not collect from every trade node this trade is going to flow somewhere else increasing trade Value. Even if razed, western provinces and to be fair most provinces in the world still would have a bunch of dev and more provinces than Lhasa has. Besides you'd need to make true one tag WC because the colonies collect some of their trade in their home-nodes. That's why I've mentioned this challenge because it's utterly insane and I don't know if at all possible

Huh, the early end of castille really slowed colonization down as the portugese prioritized iberia, which allowed all those random nations to enter the arena as well. Also it seems the ai realized there was so much valueable clay to colonize, so they all took colonial ideas
You couldve just restricted the modifier by tech group, just dissallow it for african american polynesian possibly nomdic groups. This would also allow colonial nations to use frontiers.

I don’t think the AI weight for picking colonial went up with more provinces being available, at least not in a way I can tell from game files.
Its because its very hard, massive discount for AI on army and other stuffs.
