Sam - PLEASE add variance to your Hubspot ad. As a long time viewer, its starting to be *too* repetitive. Love you guys!

"Quitting - It wouldn't have existed if it didn't have a function. It's easy to quit when everything is failing. The hard thing to quit is the slow burn of mediocrity. The thing that is not taking up all your attention but taking up some. The thing that is not totally working in achieving your goals but it's not totally failing . It's the middle zone .The danger zone. The things that are failing are easy to stop . The things that are working are easy to keep working, you shouldn't stop them it's the things in the middle zone that people are bad at quitting "

An episode on Burning Man would be insane. I know they aren't supposed to sell things there, but who created it? Who pays for it all? Thanks in advance, Shaan

I hate to see Sam fumble the exposition like that.

The discussion on the economics of revenue per employee for ecomm was spot on. For those diving into e-commerce, remember that customer lifetime value (CLV) optimization can dramatically increase profitability. Tactics like personalized email marketing and loyalty programs can significantly boost CLV beyond typical acquisition strategies.

Great pod! I don’t think you’ve talked about her before, but along the same lines as Dr. Becky, I think it would be interesting for you to cover or interview Ms Rachel. She makes UA-cam videos for toddlers and young children. The limited story I’ve heard about her is interesting and she seems to be extremely successful. Several of her videos have hundreds of millions of views, and one that I saw recently has over 700 million!

Quick public math edit.. $1.3M Rev/employee translates to ~$195K Profit/Employee @ 15% EBITDA margin which is decent. My guess is that the avg DTC business is closer to 10%

Wow, you guys just described my brother, who is 50 now, but back in his 30's he helped some friends, and yes, they actually did use a turkey baster, not even kidding! The kid is in his 20s and might be a fan.

We have a very large extended family: 4 siblings, 4 aunts & uncles, lots of cousins. The prior generation had kids. But among all siblings and cousins, only one of my siblings and 2 cousins had kids. Everyone in our family (except one) is an entrepreneur, self-made. I think the frequency for having kids has been replaced by career intentions. This particular business might have appealed to the majority of our extended family, who remained childless for their careers, and with this kind of option, there might be a larger 'next generation.' Cool story, great episode.

I don't think you need to immediately stop doing a mediocre business. You can take a little time to sell it, even if it isn't worth as much as you'd hope.

sometimes you are not sure about the tempo you are progressing with :/ if its too slow or that's just normal... that's why people often decide to stick and also why they often quit too early :/

    Guys, that thumbnail is outstanding.
Maybe you can do some content like business insider? That stuff gets mega views on here (because everyone watches YT on their TV now). Also it's hard for me to watch your podcasts on my TV without annoying my GF.
Great strategic play moving over to YT.
