Why are you showing me engines you are not talking about??

they show a picture of a 360 with iron heads.while saying they have aluminum heads.that says all we need to know about the accuracy of this video.

I quit watching when he's talking about chevy v8's, and showing v10's and v12's. Poor editing.

I had a Ford 3/4 ton truck that originally delivered beer in Marienville, PA & it had the 300 straight 6. With something over 300,000 miles on it I swapped it out with the 240 version of the same motor that I believe originally powered a taxi cab. I drove it for a couple more years before the truck just fell apart around the motor. At one time I also had a Dodge van with the 225 slant 6 motor until the van became unfixable in its old age. When I retired the van I started the motor, threw a brick on the gas pedal & went into my garage to watch what happened. After about 10 minutes it just ground to a halt either from over heating or stress of some kind. It never broke, just started to slow down & seized up.

The small block Chevy V-8 was also made in a 400 cu in version. I took the factory supplied version 305 cu in motor out of my '82 Silverado & installed a 400 with better breathing 350 heads & a lumpy cam shaft designed for RV use.

I would not drive anything today except the Ford Power Stroke 7.3L diesel. Mine only has 40,082 miles on it.

Buick 3.8 v6 is a good one.

Any engine will last a long time with proper maintenance. CHANFE YOUR OIL!. Simple as that.

IF, and only IF, the five cylinder engine in my high mileage '05 Colorado LS bites the big one and the truck itself remains intact, the only engine I would even consider replacing it with would be the 4.3L V-6 even though I know from experience I would lose at least ten MPG city and highway.
