You’re absolutely right. But neither me nor the students felt that it was THAT very special. Like one of the students said to the local newspaper after the video went viral (the video has more than 23 million views on different media so far): «We didn’t think it was any special. Because this is just how we have it, at the choir sessions.»
@@oysteinfevang1 That which brings joy to all is always special. They say the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra, and as a viewer I could see that extra. Congrats to you and your students for being extraordinary in your ordinariness:)
@@Jack54275 I agree, to bring joy to all is always special. That I try to do with my students every week when we gather for singing together, year around. But of course I agree that this moment had that little extra, as you say. 😊
My guess is they didn't have to study the words to this song. I'm betting that 95% of these kids knew all the words by heart. The song came out in 1975 and every generation since then knows this song. 48 years later and Freddie Mercury is still a Rock God.
These students wasnt even born when this song was released. Yet the song is so beautiful and powerful that it still gets carry on. Freddie would be proud
I move to make weekly singalongs a thing in every school. just a 1/2 hour once a week, anyone can join in, nothing formal, nothing organized. just…a singalong.
I am so glad the music teacher had as much fun as the students (and maybe more!), because he will be able to instill in them a love of all kinds of music. I grew up hearing everything from big bands, to jazz and blues, the classicals, and rock and roll, and lots of stage and screen songs. Well done, sir! And lucky students, to be able to attend a school with such a great instructor.
It’s incredible in any setting that students gather in hope and optimism. Having a music mentor lead the student body is pretty incredible. It says much about both the character of the students and the heartfelt playing of the piano man. Well done!

That was the first time I'd seen your school perform that. I'm almost 68 and it's good to see young people singing and reacting like that. Freddie Mercury and the three other members of Queen were, even back then, remarkable and will remain so forever. Thank you for your contribution to their legacy......... Long may it last.
What a great way to kick off a new school year! I will be 80 years old in July, 2024, and heard this song for the first time last year, when my community choir sang it at our Spring concert. (I had a classical background, and didn’t listen to much modern music.). But I went on UA-cam to find out more about Queen and Freddie Mercury, and found the songs he had co-written for the best opera soprano of her time, Montserrat Caballé, in the album, BARCELONA.
Well, that was lovely! And it made my day. So nice when young people from a very different generation from myself, can appreciate music that I grew up with.
I’m a high school student in Vietnam myself, graduate this year. I love this piece of Queen myself, but it is really hard to find any kind of this. Many of Vietnamese students won’t know about Queen. It’s beautiful to see these guys, in my ages, gather around and sing along this masterpiece. Hats off!!🎉
Thank you for bringing the music of Queen to the younger generation! The talent and vocal range of Freddie Mercury was incredible. He was inspirational to so many people! It would be a shame, almost a crime if his talent and the example he set was lost to future generations!
I was in my late teens when this came out, so blessed to be a teenager with some real great classics like this one. Good to see great music never goes away!
It's nice to see the youth of today enjoying themselves singing a song from way back in 1975 the year I could of left school or stay on to do higher level school exams. I had all of queens albums before this was released and soon had a day at the opera album to add to my growing queen collection, today I own all queens albums on vinyl and cd, and also still love rock music rather than the mush pumped out by singers today.
To see such energy and passion in kids younger than Freddie's death??? Something incredible and unique... Guys, ❤❤❤❤❤❤ for that. If this is what your music lessons look like, I want to go back in time and join you. 👍👍👍
I am a huge Queen fan for all my life (58 now), and I hate Bohemian Rhapsody covers. But this is no cover, this is a passionate singalong by people that just love to sing and love music. I absolutely LOVED it. Goosebumps allover and tears in my eyes. Thank you Rud Senior High School! And now I'm gonna watch it again 🙂
Found this video few months back and I don’t understand why you are so underrated??? THE LYRICS, THE EMOTIONS, YOUR VOICE!???? Like come onnnn you gotta get famous right nowwww😭♥️
If you are a music teacher, you live for these days.👍

yes a God and still reaches all places in the world. Here in Brazil, he played a memorable show at Rock and Rio.
I was three years old in 1975. This is proof who was the real deal and who wasn't.
Freddie is smiling somewhere 🥰
I think, he does🥰🥰
The students were great singing from heart, but what about the music teacher with that incredible piano performance though…
Thanx.

Yeah, I’m surprised that kids knew the lyrics to this song.
You can totally tell how proud the teacher was with the result they had
I enjoyed the smiles on their faces during the music. They literally had fun.
These kids will fondly remember this event for the rest of their lives.
Humanity is safe. Young generation loves Queen❤
Freddie would be so proud 🥲
I'm 59 years old and I loved Queen! I enjoyed the HELL out of that!
Thanx!
I’m 59 myself, and have loved Queen since 1974.
Best regards the teacher/pianist. 😊

Epic British band! So many great songs…..72 year old.
Favourite UK band is MUSE.
Best US bands REM, Fleet Foxes, Midlake.
Freddie would be so delighted ❤

Why are people hating on the comments? It's a good performance, and it's not even rehearsed or anything. It was just for fun and giggles.
Freddie was a genius RIP Freddie.
I am 84 and singing along. I also know every word. Loved Freddy.
3:15 can we just appreciate the 2 ppl at the back banging their heads so hard LOL
This may have been the happiest 5 and a half minutes of this school year. Grrrreat
what is even more amazing is apart from the pianist not one person was even born when queen released this song

Thank you UA-cam algorithm for this. You have restored hope in humanity.
Sad to think that these kids were born after Freddie passed. What a heritage. Rest in Peace FREDDIE
Amazing this song was released by Queen 48 years ago in my teens and yet my daughter can sing it word for word and I haven't been one to play it.
Sends shivers down my spine……
read this just as they sang it lol

All these students were born long after Freddy passed away and are singing a song that is decades older than they are. RESPECT ❤
This teacher in nextlevel. kudos mate

Absolutely fantastic! Everyone really got into the song. The pianist deserves a massive ovation! 👏 ❤❤
Massive ovation is true!!! The best music teacher, I"ve ever met!!
Love that no lyrics are on the screen and no sheets! They just know every word!
High School days are truly the most enjoyable part of childhood 👍
Great that so so many kids still sing one of the greatest songs ever
No matter how badly people sing, if you get enough people together, they sound good.
The teacher plays this all from memory! NO wonder his students give their all♡
