    My mom home-schooled my brothers and me and it is still one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. A lot of people thought my mom couldn’t teach us well enough because she didn’t have a Bachelor’s degree or teaching qualifications, but all three of us have Bachelor’s degrees and my brother and I both have a Master’s as well.
    A mother’s love is so fierce; they will stop at nothing to make sure their children have the very best. Thanks, Mom. I love you.

    IMO, as someone who suffers from psychosis and delusions, he was faking. If he gradually calmed down after the officer left, I would be more inclined to believe that the stress of another person in the room was increasing his symptoms, but the fact that he just immediately stopped and started makes me think he was calculating and in control of everything he was doing. Also people seem to think that pleading not guilty by reason of insanity means that the person would just get off without any punishment, but in reality they would be sent to a mental institution for usually at least the duration of the sentence they would receive if proved “sane” and would not be released until they could prove through doctors interviews and opinions that they were no longer a threat to anybody. So it’s not like they just go home, they go to underfunded and overcrowded mental institutions for people determined to be “insane” at the time of their crimes. Not exactly a vacation.

    • @Lillianbee21
      @Lillianbee21 2 роки тому

      I think you're onto something... But... WHY did he fake it? What gave him the power/illusion to fake it? Those who knew him well, knew he want from smoking weed to pure hash within 18mo-2years before he killed his mom. He claimed it gave him a pure connection to God. He probably used that to prey on his mom's desire to believe in God. He had her in a psychological prison that she couldn't confirm or deny, so she enabled him and tried to find answers. His family is right... She sacrificed herself... It's a horrible story and even worse memory for many of us....

    • @Cheshirestog
      @Cheshirestog 2 роки тому +3

      To a dangerous sane person, who will take advantage of those around them, that wouldn't be as bad as a prison sentence. They for sure can take advantage of others in that setting who are vulnerable more than they would be able to in a prison setting. (Granted many in prisons have mental illness as well untreated, but it isn't quite the same as a actual treatment facility. And of course I agree with your assessment of such a facility being underfunded etc.) In addition, since they were faking it, it is possible they get out earlier by eventually being "rehabilitated" from their "condition" (the fact they are a psychopath may or may not be discovered) than in prison. In addition, terms of release may be different and they can claim their behavior was due to be not in the right mind versus if they'd had gone to prison.
      Besides which, I think they (those faking conditions) may also be under the same idea that it is much less serious or "nothing" much happens when you're granted the insanity claim and so that is part of why they try for that as well.

    • @DimitrisDr3am
      @DimitrisDr3am Рік тому +2

      They definitely have a better chance of getting out proving they are "cured" and not a threat than they do getting out of a life sentence with no parole.

    • @psychicrenegade
      @psychicrenegade Рік тому

      Yep! A crime that would get someone 5-10 years in prison...can get them 40 years in a state mental institution if they actually manage to convince everyone that they're "insane." Insane criminals don't get less time...they get MORE...and absolutely no guarantee when (or if) they will be released! The prison environment may be harsher, but the mental institution could be their reality for the rest of their life, and the "treatments" they would likely get there, would not be a picnic either!

Squirrels, raccoons, even fox will occasionally go for them. The deer consider them but tend to play with them rather than eat them. The birds take the seeds. Feel like i'm doing my bit to recycle. It’s interesting that as someone with ADHD I knew automatically Dawson had ADHD. I had a similar withdraw from society as Dawson but I was more productive kinda but I still like my me time and being “babied” by my mother every no and then. I also understand Dawson in that sense and just by the way you are describing this time I can just assume he’s depressed with an overload of emotions he can’t handle so withdrawing is his method and his mother is just compensating for it. I just don’t think his father understood that Dawson was depressed and struggling and his (Dawson’s father) wife was further enabling it. In this period of time for Dawson I understand him more than most people know. There truly is a difference between depression and ADHD-fueled depression. Also people with ADHD usually have extreme anxiety (as shown) and because of that we are also HUGE hypochondriacs so Dawson “developing” Parkinson’s is obviously not Parkinson’s but more of a copy of it fueled by anxiety and possibly wanting attention.

While that may be a valid way to feel, it doesn't help me understand how someone might have gotten to this point - as a parent, ideally I would like some awareness of warning signs in kids so I can get them help if/ when they need it. And avoid enabling them and/ or ignoring red flags.

      @@r2d239 not all have anxiety nor extreme anxiety as they pointed out. There are no absolutes. Saying things like that can be taken at face value by some. It's like the tiktoks where someone is like "adhd people do this" but it's something that anyone can do due to personality, normal human nature behaviors, or things that are shared symptoms of many things..which is ok if one is saying this could be but a lot of things are coming out saying this means you have it, and even more perhaps don't mean it that way, but people are taking it that way very commonly. fun fact: the obsession phases are linked to ADHD and they are called "hyperfocus", which is the name used when talking specifically about these phases when an individual is neurodivergent (has ADHD; autism; dyslexia; OCD; dyscalculia etc). low self-esteem is common among people with ADHD and we do tend to not handle criticism very well, that is very probably why he compared himself to his brothers so much which could've caused him to become depressed after a while (depression and anxiety can often be linked to ADHD too)

    I think Dawson was totally faking it, just to get away with murder. I’m not saying he didn’t have mental issues, just definitely not what he was showing to cops and understood 100% that he murdered his mum ….. so very sad 💔💔💔

    I live in the Bay Area. Keeping with the Halloween theme, it was strange to watch the movie Paranormal that took place in Santa Rosa, California (where I had been living at that time.) I couldn't sleep until I watched SpongeBob for a bit.

    I started watching your videos for the True Crime, and now I'm watching for both that and the make-up. It's so neat how naturally you explain the story while doing your make up at the same time :) Makes me want to try new things with my make up ... Thanks :)

    Just decorate your background for the seasons... Is still fall, keep the pumpkins lol

    Pumpkins can still be for fall. It’s a common motif for American Thanksgiving so I think you can keep your pumpkins!

    Ya know home school could probably be the best thing for our children right now. The only issue with homeschooling is they don't get to interact so much with other children. :)

    Danielle, you're an amazing storyteller! How do you do it?! Do you memorize everything, or do you read it off to us?

    I was going to say that your pumpkins don't have to go until December 1st but then I realized you're in the UK and don't have Thanksgiving! But November is still Fall, so you could still keep them

    I have ADHD, anxiety, depression and I also have hallucinations and I see shadow people. I even shake alot to the point most of my friends think I have ptsd (have not been diagnosed since my psychiatrist thinks you can't have ptsd if you haven't been in the military) but my counselor thinks I do. This is disturbing this case. Danielle kept talking about his adhd and then the other stuff and I'm like "wait wait. Are we talking about a man or me!?" Then I remembered. Oh yeah he murdered somebody. I never did that.

    I've seen this guy's interviews before I just could never find his case! So I figured it was something minor, like a petty crime of sort. Guess I was quite wrong 👻

      He is also featured on another crime channel. In this presentation, he was the poster child of what faking psychosis looks like. It may have been on JCS's channel, which is a criminal psychology channel.

      Manteca is about 40min or so away from where I live and I would suppose our new outlets would have picked this up and I would have heard about it. But I never have. Know I'm curious on watching his other interviews. So creepy!!
